A/N: Finally finished the Deathly Hallows. Watched 'The Asylum of the Daleks' again. This is was the result. I also worked in some of the Dumbledore lines that seemed to fit. Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter and I don't who Doctor Who.
Voldemort was gone, but they had lost so many in the process. So many who would never see the light of day again, but they had won and rid the world of an evil that would surely have destroyed it. They would- "Harry?"
Harry started. It wasn't his friends voices, it fact it wasn't a voice he knew at all. "Hello?"
Hermione and Ron glanced curiously at Harry from where they stood by his side.
"You couldn't cope with the truth."
"What?"
"You made this world up in your mind Harry."
Harry looked around trying to find the strange voice coming from nowhere. He did not notice that his two best friends seemed to be fading away.
"I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. But you're a Dalek. The truth was too horrible for you to bear."
What was a Dalek? Hermione and Ron were gone now.
"What is a Dalek?"
"Harry... I'm sorry. I couldn't..." And then, he remembered.
A flash of light, following the brown-haired girl down the ladder. Telling his mum, Jennifer Rowling Potter, that he'd be right back. The giant salt and pepper shakers armed with deadly and somehow sinister lookalikes of whisks and plungers. Their word, 'Exterminate.'
No. No! He was not a Dalek! He was a human! He was Harry Potter! The boy who lived! He was!
"No."
"Please, Harry. Look."
Harry blinked and he was looking out of a round hole at a floppy-haired man.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Harry, really- I am, but I had to wake you. It does no good to dwell on dreams and forget to live."
"No! No! I- I'm Harry Potter. This isn't real, it's happening inside my head, I'm just having a breakdown!"
"Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real? Because, Harry, you need to wake up-"
"No!" The boy who lived clutched his forehead and shook it vigorously. "No!"
"Harry-!"
When Harry looked up Ron and Hermione were beside him, "Are you alright mate? You passed out for a minute. Was it an after effect of Vold-"
"I'm fine... Just... I don't remember. Never mind."
The dream was almost fading... He couldn't shake the feeling he was being watched though.
Meanwhile, a man in a white room with a creature in chains bowed his head in defeat.
