Chapter 16: The Weakest One

Rin's POV

Almost a week has passed since Len discovered our (new) hideout.

"Good morning, Rin!"

"ACK!"

… And I'm still not used to it.

I recovered from the mini heart-attack and gave Len a small glare, "Gee, Len, you have GOT to stop giving me morning-scares!"

Suddenly, the smell of wet do- No, not wet dog… Wet… Something filled my nostrils. I covered up my nose and made a face filled with disgust, "What on earth is that?!"

I saw Len's cheeks darken and say, "Damn, I was hoping you wouldn't notice!"

I leaned into Len and smelled his chest, which caused his face to darken into a deep shade of red (weird…). Afterwards, I covered up my nose again, "Oh my… What the hell did you drown yourself in?"

After I asked that, I heard someone laughing down the hall. Who is that? I walked outside my room and looked down the hall, only to see Rei doubled over in laughter.

I raised an eyebrow and said, "Rei, what's so funny?"

He calmed down a bit and stood straight up, "N-Nothing, Rin, and good morning."

I nodded and ran up to him, "Do you know what it is we're having for breakfast?"

"I don't know," he took my hand, making me fill a bit warm, "shall we find out?"

I nodded and ran with him into the kitchen.

Rei's POV

AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAA~

LEN'S FACE! PRICELESS! Oh, how I regret not taking a picture with my phone…

*Earlier that morning…*

I groaned as my eyes slowly opened up. What time is it? I looked at my digital clock:

6:02 A.M.

I groaned and let my head fall back onto the pillow. It's still too damn early…

Screw it, I can't go back to sleep.

I got up from my warm bed and walked into the bathroom. After doing my business on the toilet, brushing my teeth, splashing my face with water, and making my hair look a bit more presentable, I got out of my room and went toward Rinto's.

Just as I expected, the little guy was already up and awake, watching some little kids show on TV. I sat down next to him and smiled, "Good morning, Rinto. What 'ya watching?"

He tore his eyes away from the screen to look at me, "Dummy Dora can't find the castle. It's right there, all she has to do is turn around!"

Ah, so it's that show about the retard.

"I don't like him."

I looked at Rinto with a raised eyebrow, "Who?"

He looked straight at me with those innocent blue eyes of his, "Ren. He likes taking nee-san away."

Len? Why in hell would Len be in- OH. I totally forgot he lived here now!

Well, at least someone's on my side. Oh, how I'd LOVE to kick him out… Literally…

At that moment, and idea popped into my brain. I looked at Rinto with pure mischief, "How about we try to make him leave?"

He smiled, "How?"

I whispered my plan to him, making sure he was the only one that could hear. Oh, this is genius~

Len, I'll make your stay here hell, that much I can assure.

I resisted the urge to smirk as I walked up to Big Al, "Hey, Al!"

He turned around and gave me a smile, "Good morning, kiddo! Is there anything you need?"

I nodded, "You know that research you were doing on Max?"

He raised a brow, "Yes… What about it?"

"Can I have a bucket of his spit?"

He set down the clipboard he was currently holding and pushed the glasses he was wearing up the bridge of his nose, "What do you need it for?"

Ahahahahaha- "Nothing~ Just… Stuff. Can I?"

He sighed, "Well, I'm glad to tell you that his spit isn't harmful, just incredibly stinky. And if you happen to accidentally get some on yourself, come to me so I can tell you how to wash it off. Understood?"

I nodded again and followed him towards where he kept the stuff.

After getting a bucket-full of Max's spit, I crept into Len's room (after A LOT of complaining on my part, Al finally decided to give him a separate room). Using the night-vision goggles he snatched from Al's lab once, I saw Len sleeping on his bed. He looks so peaceful…

I hate it.

With a nod, I walked up to the side of his bed and raised the bucket. Oh, this is gonna be good…

I flipped the bucket over, all of the smelly spit covering Len. He woke up almost immediately, his eyes wide with confusion.

"What the-"

Before he could see me, I ran outside of his room. The face he had… Oh God! I laughed the rest of the way towards Rinto's room, ignoring the 'What happened?' that came out of the little guy's mouth.

I smiled like a fool as I stepped into the kitchen.

Rei: 1, Len: 0.

As it should be.

"Well, someone got up on the right side of the bed this morning. What's got you smiling, Rei?"

I shook my head at Ann's question and asked, "What are we having for breakfast?"

Ann shrugged, "I don't know… Hey, since you're on such a good mood, how 'bout you choose?"

At that moment, Rinto walked into the room with a huge smile. I turned towards him, letting go of Rin's warm hand in the process, and asked, "What do you want for breakfast, Rinto?"

"PANCAKES~ ORANGE PANCAKES~!"

Rin smiled at the request, and so did I. Ann laughed and with a 'yes, sir', she continued in making the pancakes.

Best. Morning. Ever.

Len's POV

After taking a shower for what felt like the MILLIONTH time, I gave up and dried myself up. What in hell is this stuff, anyway? It smells so freaking bad…

After changing into a simple yellow shirt and black shorts, I made my way towards the kitchen. Maybe no one will noti-

"Mommy, Ren smells bad…"

I turned towards Rin's little brother (who had surprisingly gotten better enough to walk around) and smiled, "Good morning Rin-"

Before I could finish, Rinto hid behind his mother's legs and covered his nose, "Uh-huh, can you please go far away? Can you move to China and stay there?"

I smiled, but I was a bit annoyed. It's not like I chose to smell like this! If it wasn't for R-

Rei…

That bastard… He did this, didn't he? I left the kitchen and found him talking to Rin while eating breakfast. I ignored their pinched noses as I walked up to Rei, "I need to talk to you. NOW."

He glared and said, "Fine. I'll be right back, Rin."

We walked towards my room, where no one could hear us from the kitchen. I glared at him and said, "Alright, you bastard, how do I wash this stupid shit off?!"

He held his hands up, "Woah! Chill, dude. And language!"

I rolled my eyes. Man, this guy annoys me so damn much! I rubbed my forehead, feeling a headache coming on, "Please, just tell me how to wash it off!"

I fought back the urge to slap him as he smirked, "I have no clue, ask Al."

I gave him the deathliest glare I could muster and said, "I will get even, Kagami Rei."

He scoffed, "Bring it on, I've been ready since the start."

With a growl, I left the room in search of Big Al.

Yuuma's POV

I smirked as I sat back in my chair. Nice going, Rei.

"You're still betting on Len, Mikio? After what just happened?"

I turned towards the shy red-head. He blushed and looked down, "He- He's strong enough, I'm pretty sure he can take R-Rei on…"

I heard Luki scoff, "Rei not only has brawn, he has brains, too. Everything's always on his side, there's no way he'll lose."

Amusing… I turned towards Piko and Miki, "What about you two?"

Piko yawned, "I don't really give a fuck. … But if I HAD to choose, I'd say Rei's the upcoming champion."

"Aw, but sweetie," Miki frowned and pointed at the screen, "don't you see? He now has anger in him, as well. Maybe Mikio's right…"

Piko frowned, "Why do you even give a damn?"

I smirked and answered Piko's question, "Why not? The winner takes the hand of our future leader, does he not?"

I almost laughed when I saw the look of disbelief on Piko's face, "Future lead- Are you flipping kidding me? That stupid girl can't- I refuse- Al's an idiot…"

"Why don't we just kill them all?"

Everyone turned towards Luki. Kill them all… I had an amused look, "Kill who, Luki?"

He glared at me, "Who else, retard? We should just kill off the Kagami family. The Crimson Three can take over this entire building. I know you want to!"

I turned my chair back towards the camera screens. Take over… Sounds so tempting…

"W-what about little Rinto?" Ah, always the weakling.

"That little retard's gonna die, anyway. You know how sick he is." Heartless.

"That doesn't sound too bad. Miki?" Selfish.

"Ahaha, the idea sounds incredibly fun~" Playful.

"Let's go do it now!" Idiots.

I glared as I saw the Kagami family eating breakfast, a plan forming in my head, "You're all stupid. We can't just go now!"

Luki groaned, "Why the fuck not? I'm ready!"

I shook my head, "Now's not the right time. We have to kill them all one by one. Starting with the weakest one."

I laughed as I looked at Rinto eating breakfast with a huge smile on his face, "The weakest one…"
