"Nozaru." The boy looked up from the magazine he was reading to find Yuni standing in his doorway. His boss, and sister for all purposes, was holding the phone in one hand. "Lambo, Ipin, and Bluebell wanted me to ask if you would want to go shopping with them. They're shopping for new dresses for Karina Nugolo's coming of age ball."
Nozaru felt his stomach sink.
Shopping with the others was something he always had a hard time with. Ipin and Bluebell were beautiful and radiated in any environment and Lambo was the type of guy that girls flocked towards after just one look.
As much as Nozaru adored them, when he was around them it seemed to drain him of all his confidence. It was hard to constantly feel like the least attractive person in the room.
"Can you tell them I'm not feeling good?" he requested at last.
"Nozaru?" Yuni tilted her head. "If you're worried about a ride, Gamma can-"
Nozaru shook his head. "I just don't feel like going out right now..."
She stared at him for a minute before nodding and bringing the phone back to her ear, "I'm sorry, Ipin. Nozaru isn't feel too good."
