Two Pair
Guild of Thieves
Their relationships with the girls were often easier for the people around them to see.
Ipin was Lambo's sister and Bluebell, for all their straying and shouting, was the only girl he had ever truly loved outside of his family. He would threaten the boys who looked at Ipin the wrong way and bring tea up to her bedroom when girls visited. He would snag Bluebell by the waist and kiss her in the middle of the hallway or the two of them would scream so loud the whole school knew when they were arguing.
Nozaru was quieter about his friendships with both girls but it was always apparent to the people who saw them. It wasn't always obvious that Nozaru and Ipin loved each other but when their heads were bent together as they tried to share a book or when they consulted quietly over a homework problem their friendship was written all over them. Bluebell was loud about her friendships and that was why her friendship with Nozaru was so obvious – because he was always there before everyone else when the screaming ended and he was always there when she needed to copy an assignment.
Their friendship with each other was more low key though.
It wasn't uncommon for people to think they were only spending time with each other because they shared their best friends.
Those who did notice it though, tended to be of the opinion that the bond between the boys was the largest.
There was something intimate about the quiet way they worked. About the way they could walk without saying a word to each other or the way they seemed to share secrets with their eyes instead of their mouths.
E/n: When I read this prompt, I immiedently thought of the saying "thick as thieves" so I centered this drabble on that.
It's nice to write about Nozaru and Lambo's friendship.
As a girl, I don't have much experience with male relationships. For girls though, our friendships with other girls are some of the most important things to us because sisterhood is one of the most important things in the real world. Girl's often need someone who can be there for them when other girls are terrible, because girls are really really terrible to each other, and who can be trusted with your deepest secrets.
Girls aren't really the point of this drabble though so sorry for that mini rant. I just wanted to try and portray that same closeness between guys - although I don't think I reached the level I wanted.
