Chapter 6 Mustangs kid

Don't own anything.

The sky was tuning to dusk on Saturday when Elisya met Ed in front of their parents office building. Ed had brought a map to the closest cemetery and they set off, hoping to witness the final resting place of the alchemist Ed was named after. The cemetery gates creaked in the slight wind as Ed and Elisya walked through them.

"Did you bring a map of the cemetery?"She asked.

She was clinging to his side slightly sense she had a small fear of ghost. It was a strange spectacle to all who witnessed the children that night. A five year old, slightly shorter leading a six year old girl through the graveyard with a map. Ed shook his head.

"The grave should be in the alchemist section of this cemetery. It shouldn't be hard to find.".

They continued on up a hill and a row of old and run down mausoleums. The sunlight was going to fade soon so they had to hurry. Ed's golden eyes narrowed against the sunlight glinting off one stone. It stood away from the others under a oak tree. The sunlight shinning through the leaves glinted off the small rock.

"Over there."He said "Let's go look at that stone.".

As they approached, the area around the stone seemed to light up. The grave didn't look so abandoned anymore.

"Look."Elisya's voice sounded like a whisper of wind as she pointed at the stone.

"Edward Elric. May his sacrifice bring him peace." Ed read the stone.

He examined it top to bottom.

"No transmutation circle. His soul couldn't have been bonded to the stone."He said.

"Okay. We should get home. Dad will worry. Your parents will too."Elisya said.

"So this is Edward's grave."Ed said.

He turned away and lead her back toward the entrance. The sunlight died around the grave as if crestfallen that there was nobody there. It was some time latter that a suit of armor blotted out the moonlight shinning on the grave. A Lilly was placed on the grave and the Armor moved away. A shimmering patch of light glowed in the air next to the grave. It turned into a twelve year old who had yellow hair. His golden eyes were filled with abandonment, sadness and tears. He reached out a ghostly hand and called softly. His voice carried like the wind that blew uncaring past his grave.

"Al...".

Al stopped and turned to the boy, tears in his eyes. Although they could never be shed.

"Come on brother!"Al called as if nothing was wrong "Why don't you follow?".

The boy said nothing, just looked at him apolitically. He faded away even as the tears began to flow. Al looked confused before he walked away, hoping to find his brother sitting at the food shop where he usually was. Ed sat up in bed. He was thinking about the gravestone. He had had another dream about the strange boy. He had been standing at the window again. The only words he had spoken were

"Help Al".

He hadn't the slightest clue what that meant but, he was determined to find out. Life went on like it normally did and Ed hadn't seen the boy in his dreams for several weeks. It wasn't long until he had forgotten about him completely. In fact, it would be four years before he encountered anything like that again.
