Cammie's POV
"Cammie, if you knew what you were going to wear why did you invite me over?" Macey had her arms crossed over her chest. I had dressed myself in the outfit Grace had picked, before she arrived.
"You don't like it?" I asked looking down at myself. She smirked and shook her head.
"Actually, this is perfect, but that's not the point." She took me by the arm and led me over to my dressing table.
"Oh?" I asked slightly confused. She pushed me down into the char and started to brush my hair.
"Curls?" she asked a perfectly arched eyebrow raised.
"What?" I picked up a tube of mascara, one of the many makeover tools that Macey had brought over.
"Do you want me to curl you hair?" she held up a curling iron that I had never seen before.
"I didn't know I had one of those."
"You don't, this is mine. Now do you want curls?" I shook my head. Curls aren't my thing. Macey shrugged her shoulders and smiled.
"Too bad." She reached out and grabbed a chunk of my hair, twisting it around the hot iron. I didn't dare fight it, I wouldn't put it pass Macey to burn me just so I would hold still.
"Macey, I don't like tones of makeup and hair products." She waved her spare had in the air and made a 'psh' noise.
"God, it's not like I'm dying your hair green. Calm down, Cam." I pursed my lips, but didn't say anything else on the subject, besides I had other things to worry about. My hands were sweating and I was chewing on the corner of my lip. What if he doesn't like me?
"Stop worrying, he'd be mad if he didn't love ya'." Macey said as if she was reading my mind.
"Macey?" she raised her eyebrows in concentration as she let the last curl fall from the iron and bounce against my neck, soft and warm.
"Thanks for helping me out, now and before… I don't think I really ever did thank you for the other night." she smirked
"Yes I know, and I must admit I wasn't a big fan of you when we first meet, but you've grown on me Cameron." I smiled at the semi-comment.
"Thanks, I think."
"Oh don't pretend you didn't feel the same way." she turned around went over to my wardrobe to shut the doors.
"I guess," I expected her to get annoyed, but when she turned around she was smiling.
"I knew it, and you know what?" she asked sitting on my bed.
"What?"
"When I first meet Liz and Bex, we hated each other as well and now we're the best of friends!" I smiled
"Are you saying we are going to be best friends?" I asked
"Well…" she shrugged her shoulders "you never know." Just then there was a knock at the door and I jumped up off my chair and stumbled to the door way.
"Cammie, seriously calm down, it's just like any other date." I felt my cheeks go bright red as she walked out into the hallway. She took one look at my face and said
"Wait… Cammie, is this your first date?" I felt my cheeks go even redder
"Maybe…" I said looking down at my feet. She jumped up and down clapping her hands,
"Oh My God! This is so exciting! I am so glad I was here to help you then." She nodded my head gently still not looking her in the eye. Suddenly I felt her hands on my shoulders.
"You'll be fine, I promise now get down there. You don't want to keep him waiting." I smiled a little before rushing down the stairs and flinging open the door. Matt was smiling at me, his eyes were gleaming and his hair was messed up in all the right places. He had on black jeans and a black leather jacket that covered up his shirt. He looked… perfect…
"You look, amazing," I smiled and y heart fluttered as he said this.
"Thanks! So do you," I felt myself go red again and he chuckled.
"Do you want to go?" he asked and I was about to say yes when Macey came running down the stairs holding… my white leather jacket…
"Cammie, don't forget this." She said handing it to me. I had purposefully forgotten it because it just felt wrong to wear it with Matt after I had worn it with Andy.
"Thanks." I said forcing a smile I put it on slowly before turning back to Matt "Ready now," I said.
"Great," he smiled. We waved good bye to Macey who stayed in my house and head to the Movies.

"Butter or salt." The woman behind the counter asks. Her hair was wiry and in a messy pony tail. She looked miserable, like she would rather be anywhere else. Matt turned to me,
"Butter please," I said, she turned and stared to shovel the popcorn into a large box "thank you," I said as she handed to me and Matt laid a wrinkled 5 dollar bill on the counter. I popped a piece of popcorn into my mouth and turned around to look around. There were big posters of famous movies all around. Sure they were old and very out of date, but who hasn't heard of Breakfast at Tiffanies, I mean I love Audrey Hepburn. I wasn't really sure what movie were seeing, some action packed thing that Matt had picked when I said I didn't mind what we saw. I felt a hand slide around my waste and start pulling me away from the grumpy woman.
"Come on, let's go." He whispered in my ear. His breath sending shivers down my spine. We were on of the last people in the theatre. It was dark and the starting credits were flashing up on the screen as a man ran through some dark hall ways. We took our seats and p put the popcorn on the floor at our feet. Matt's arm draped over my shoulders. I felt myself stiffen, not sure what to do. A woman screamed and I jumped closer to him, knocking over the popcorn.
"Sorry," I whispered I felt his chest vibrate as he silently laughed.
"Its fine," I was glad it was dark because my cheeks were pink. I turned to look up at him. His eyes were on the screen, but after a few seconds they turned to me. He bit his lip, he seemed to be contemplating something, I went to say something that was completely forgotten when his lips meet mine. They were soft and sweet, I leaded up into the kiss, my eyes closed. When we pulled apart I just turned back to the movie, trying not to grin wildly and had a feeling he was doing the same.

I pushed open the doors and out into the sun light, I had to blink a few times so I could get used to being outside again and to let my eyes adjust. I waited for Matt to come out. We had been separated in a crowd of people that were going into the theatre. I felt a hand slide into mine.
"Okay, lets cross the street." He said and nodded.
"Did you enjoy the movie?" I asked as we entered a small restaurant that smelt absolutely amazing. Freshly baked doe wafted towards me and I closed my eyes for a second.
"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" I looked over at Matt who was smiling down at me and I smiled back.
"Well actually I did like it. I'm not the kind of girl who doesn't like war movies. I mean I wasn't expecting the bit where the whole cave blew up with everyone inside… I still don't get how they survived that." I started to make my way over to a table in the corner of the room, set up for two people.
"It's a movie Cammie, I 'm not sure people could do that in real life." He pulled out my chair and I sat down.
"I wish I could." I said looking out the window behind him.
"Can I take your order?" I looked up and saw a young girl, probably only a year or two older than me, her black hair was in a bod. Warm grey eyes were staring down at me, but she wasn't smiling.
"Can I take your order?" she repeated, her voice sweet, but her tone was impatient.
"Yes, I'll have a plain cheese and tomato pizza." She nodded and wrote down the order into her scrappy old notebook. She turned to Matt with a smile.
"And for you…" she said her pen posed.
"Um, I'll have a pepperoni pizza with onions." She nodded again and scribbled it down.
"Alright, I'll have a jug of water brought over to the table."
"Thank you." Matt and I replied in unison, which seemed to make the girl smile. She walked away over to the open kitchen window and placed the piece of paper with our orders on it, onto the counter before going to see to another table with an old couple on it.
"Tell me about new York." Matt said his eyes bright as he leaned forward slightly to rest his arms on the table.
"Well, it's big, and musty and busy and fast, everything going quickly and no one ever slows down." I paused a laughed slightly when I realised I wasn't really stating any positives "but it's also, bight and alive all the time, even at night, the city lives at night, and your never alone, it's up to you if you think that's a good or a bad thing." Matt smiled reaching his eyes
"I wish I could see it."
"Maybe you will." Just then a man came over with to glasses and a jug of water. He poured the drinks and left without saying anything.
"Yeah… maybe. Tell me what do you miss most about it. What do you wake up every morning and think, god I wish I could have that." I laughed at the way he said it, tilting his head back before looking back at me.
"It's a hard question, I mean I miss my friends of course, but if I had to pick one thing…"
"You can't pick a person." He said and I nodded
"It would have to be the big salt pretzels. I used to buy one on my way to school every morning from some street guy who used to tell me they were made with love." I giggled, it had never occurred to me at the time, but now that I think about it… he might have been a little crazy.
"Wow that was deep." Matt chuckled. I reached over the table and smacked him on the arm. He winced.
"Ow Cammie, that hurt." He pretended to rub his shoulder. I laughed and broke into a smile.
"One plain pizza," a hot dish was lowered in front of me and I felt my mouth start to water "And one pepperoni with onions." The girl from earlier lowered the second dish.
"Thank you," Matt said taking his napkin and putting it in his lap.
"Thank you," I echoed doing the same.
"I'm Anna, so if you need anything else just ask." And then she left again.
Matt and I talked and laughed till we had both finished our pizzas, the topics changed easily and the conversation flowed freely. I had never been on a first date before, but I would say that it was gong rather well, keeping in mind my inexperience.
I watched as Matt signed the cheque and placed a five dollar bill on the table. I had offered to pay for my half, but he had refused and I didn't want to argue. We stood up and waved goodbye to Anna.
The air outside was warm, but the sun was barely visible above the horizon. I looped my arm through his.
"Do you still want ice cream?" he asked and I shook my head.
"Nah, I stuffed." He laughed
"I would think so, you ate a whole pizza made for two." I blushed and looked away.
"Yeah well I didn't want to waste any."
"So what do you want to do?" he asked. I thought for a moment, we did have very much time sense it was getting dark and I didn't want to be out too late.
"Let's just walk." He nodded and started to take me in the direction to my house. It was a conferrable silence that followed us. My heart was beating heavy in my chest and I was convinced that Matt could hear it.
"Do you want to take a short cut through the park?" he asked pulling me closer to his side making my heart skip a beat.
"Yeah, sounds good." He turned left and opened up a small iron gate, laced with ivy "I've never been through the park." I said resting my head on his shoulder and breathing in his sent.
"Well I left it out of our tour for a reason." He smirked and I blushed again. A breeze pushed my hair into my face and made me shiver slightly. I could see the other gate a few yards away and I tried not to sigh.
"Thanks for tonight; I had a really good time."
"I had a good time too. Cammie I really like you," he stopped walking and made it so we were facing each other. The yellow glow of a park lamp was lighting up his face, but his eyes were black and shadowed. I wanted him to just lean down and kiss me, but at the same time I wanted to turn and run back to my house and slam the door. "And I want you to be my girlfriend, because I can't stand the thought of you doing this with any other guy." At first I thought he meant going on a date, but then he did lean down and he did kiss me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and stood up on my tiptoes to get closer. I moved my lips to his ear
"Yes," I whispered and placed my lips back on his. I felt him smile into the kiss and I giggled, running my fingers through his hair.

"How did it go?" Bex asked as soon as I sat down at lunch on Monday.
"How did what go?" I asked popping a grape into my mouth.
"Oh Cammie, tell us how your date with Matt went."
"Yeah Cammie, tell us." Liz sounded annoyed, probably because I didn't tell her I was going on ad date and that I have been avoiding her. The weight of what I knew was weighing me down and I didn't know if I could keep it in if I spoke to her directly. If I even looked her in the eye too long it could pop out, and I didn't even know if she would want to know… besides Mrs Sutton had broken it off with my dad anyway and I hadn't seen him sense yesterday morning, he was out most of the weekend and for that I was glad.
"He asked me to be his official girlfriend." I said a smile crawling onto my face even with Liz staring at me. Macey squealed and Bex clapped her hands together excitedly, grinning from ear to ear.
"And you said…?" Macey prompted raising her eyebrows
"And I said… yes!" I squeezed my eyes shut as I smiled, my insides bubbling with excitement.
"Well there you have it! I knew you… would... be…fine." Macey was staring over my shoulder and so were Bex and Liz.
"What are you guys looking-?" I turned around and saw Zach stood there looking hurt and angry at the same time.
"Zach, I-"
"I don't really want to hear it right now." I stood up and grabbed his arm.
"Zach-"
"Cammie, I can't talk to right now… I might say something I don't mean." He pulled free of my grip easily and walked out of the lunch room, his eyes on the ground, shaking his head slightly. I liked Matt, I really liked Matt… so why did was my heart beating so fast and why did my hand still feel the warmth of his skin.
