~Luck of the Unwanted
Chapter 15
Natsu POV
I was sitting at lunch today in the middle of an argument with Gajeel, who happened to be sitting beside me because of my seat switch with Levy. Lucy suddenly stood up catching my attention, and placed her whiteboard in my lap with something written on it.
'Need drink. Be right back.' It read. I just shrugged. There's a drink machine right down the hall. If it seems like it's taking too long I will go find her.
"Oi, salamander-" Gajeel started.
"Are we really back to this? Everyone here knows I can beat you in a fight."
Gajeel's face turned red from the sudden comment and a laugh escaped my lips.
"Well I think he could at least hold his own against Natsu." A voice from the other table spoke out. I leaned back in my chair careful not to fall backwards. When I saw the owner of the voice I couldn't help but stuff another laugh back into my throat.
"Thanks shrimp. At least one of my friends believes in me." H Gajeel replied glaring at everyone else at the table.
"Don't get me wrong, I am sure you are very skilled at fighting, but We have all known Natsu since preschool and we know his fighting style. Which is why I am probably the best fit here at beating Natsu." Erza said as she looked my way.
"Now hold on, I have beat Natsu on dozens of occasions." Ice cube over there replied. Suddenly an argument broke out over who is best fit to beat me. What the hell?
"Well I am going to find Lucy." I mumbled as I slowly walked away from the table and out of the cafeteria successfully. I slowly made my way from the doors and down the hall to the closest drink machine.
I was almost there when I heard stomping…. And kicking? What the heck is someone kicking down the hallway? If that even makes sense.
I slowly found my legs moving in the direction of the noise on their own accord. It was almost like the curiosity in me was coming out and I was going to have no say-so about it. Okay bad analogy but it still works.
I slowly made my way down and to where the sound ended. There was a loud slam and then a voice. It was a bit quiet so I assume that the person is a female. As I got closer, I hid behind a pillar. I looked around to where my feet had led me to find that I was now standing outside the school close to the football field.
"So you actually decided to come to school today? I thought I had humiliated you enough and yet you still come back for more? You're dumber than I thought." That voice… sounded painfully familiar.
I was frozen. There wasn't a bone in my body that would allow me to move from the very spot I was sitting in. I was forced to listen.
"Come on Lucy. Did you really think that some random stranger would put something in your bag?" Wait… what? What is she talking about? There is no way she would do that… I- I have known her since pre-school….
"Hit you? Please, I wouldn't dare let my hand touch the skin of a murderer." What is going on here?! Why is she calling Lucy a murderer? I know that something happened to her parents, but I was told it wasn't her fault at all…
And then it was silent. I was tempted to look and see if they had left or not but I couldn't pull myself to look. It was almost as if I wasn't in control of my body. Did I want to hear this? I mean why else would I not be able to listen to my own body? By this time I was furious.
"Did you hear that Lucy? You seem a bit out of it. Did I hit a nerve or strike a memory?" That did it.
"Lisanna?" I stepped out from where I was standing and started to make my way in their direction.
"N-natsu I-"
"Go ahead and save your breath Lisanna. Were you really the one that put something in Lucy's bag?" I asked getting closer causing her to flinch.
"I-I…"
"Answer Lisanna."
"Yes…"
I was beyond furious. I wanted to hit something… or someone. I saw Lucy and tears filled her eyes. She looked up and our eyes met. I made a vow right then and there to personally hurt whoever made Lucy cry fom here on. Something snapped inside of me and I punched the wall Lucy was leaning on.
"Do you know what you have done? Do you know what you have caused? Lucy may never be able to talk again. She may never get to do any of the things she always dreamed of." I yelled at her. Her shoulders dropped and she started to hug her arms. I wanted to say more but I refrained myself for the simple fact I don't want to wind up hitting her and going to jail myself.
"What do you even care so much Natsu? Why does it matter so much what happens to her? Everything was perfect before she got here. Don't you remember?" Lisanna yelled as tears filled her eyes as well. Great now I was stuck between two crying women. Somehow, I didn't feel the need to help Lisanna though.
"Lisanna… I- I… don't want to be with someone like you." I said looking away from her, more than likely, shocked face. I couldn't bring myself to look. I mean, I don't really feel anything towards her anymore. How long have I felt like this. I haven't spent any time around her or kissed her since…
Lucy saw us.
How long has it been though? I felt like years but really about… 3 weeks maybe? I'm not so sure.
I looked at Lucy and saw tears streaming down her face. She looked pitiful. I turned my head back at Lisanna and glared one last time.
"Get up Lucy. We're going." I grabbed her arm carefully but sternly to show I was serious. She stood quickly, and would have most likely fell if I wasn't holding her arm so tightly. We slowly, yet fastly, started to walk away from the scene as I tried my best to shake off the feeling of her gaze in my back.
"N-Natsu wait! I… don't know what came over me! It's like something possessed me and suddenly there were alarms going off. Please, understand. Please… trust me." She said as her voice faded out.
My anger boiled and ended up boiling over as well.
"Trust you? Trust you?! You expect me to trust after everything you have done?! How I can I trust you if I can't even allow Lucy to go get a soda without being traumatized. Do you know what she has been through?" I asked/ yelled as my anger got hotter by the second. I felt Lucy flinch when I said that. I seriously need to leave before I do something stupid.
I walked away with Lucy without interruptions this time. We made our way over back towards the school when a thought crossed my mind. I thought about it for a second before deciding if I should take a chance. I leaned my back against the school building and Lucy turned to me questioningly at my sudden actions.
"Hey Lucy, wanna ditch?" I asked crossing my arms and observing her face for any answers. She placed her lips together and bit her lip on thought.
Much to my surprise, she nodded.

How was the breakup? I am sure a lot of people were by all means waiting for it to happen.
I have to go so I will see you next week! Any requests? List them and i will try my best to put them in the story! Love you!
