Luck of the Unwanted~
Chapter 21
When Natsu and I arrived at Erza's house, everything was chaotic. Here let me explain:
Mira POV
Everything was going great. Erza asked me to come early to help her decorate her house for the eventful night to come. When I arrived, I was, of course, the first one there. One by one, others started to fill in and got into the Christmas spirit. Then everything went south.
"Hey watch where you're going metal head." Gray spat at Gajeel as they had an ungraceful encounter.
"I could say the say to you ice cube. Maybe you should take your eyes off of Juvia once and awhile and witness what is happening around you." Gajeel returned as the two started a glaring contest.
"Oh yeah? Well maybe if you weren't eye raping Levy you would be able to distinguish what is about to happen." Gray said as he sent an upper cut to Gajeel's chin who let out a large grunt in the process. Levy, who was in listening distance, blushed brightly at the comment that Gray made.
"You little-"
"Stop it! Why are you fighting?" I asked walking in with a fresh bowl of chips in my hand. I was about to place them on the table when I walk in to….to… this….
Even after I said that, they ignored my question and just continued to go on with their petty little fight. I went closer to try and stop this before Erza came in and saw this mess. The closer I got, the worse the fight continued until I eventually made it close enough to touch them.
It was then that someone was about to die.
Just as I got close enough, Gray had kicked Gajeel off of him and had grabbed a stool and chunked it in Gajeel's direction. Luckily I was there to break the impact of the stool knocking me onto the floor.
Everything went still at that moment. No one moved. I slowly sat up on my knees and stood. It was so quiet that I think some people weren't even breathing.
"M-Mira. Let's w-work things out. I'm sure they didn't mean to. R-Right guys?" Levy stuttered looking in the direction of the now terrified Gajeel and Gray.
"T-that's right. We didn't mean to hurt you Mira." Gray said loosening the invisible collar of his shirt that now lays forgotten on the floor.
"Y-yeah Mira. It was just a friendly fight." Gajeel stumbled along his words.
"Really? Because if you ask me…. You were just begging to get killed." I yelled as I lunged for Gray's throat. Not before kneeing Gajeel in the stomach and all but knocking him out.
"Oh no! It's demon Mira Jane! She has been released!" Levy squealed as her and Juvia went to seek cover.
"NO! Gray-samaaaaaaa!" She yelled being dragged away by Levy.
After a few minutes of struggling, Gray and Gajeel soon surrendered and sat on their knees begging for mercy.
"Please spare us Mira." Gray begged.
"Please." Gajeel pleaded.
Next thing I knew, I had Gray in a head lock, and was pinning Gajeel to the ground, by his neck, with my knee.
"Hey guys!" Natsu shouted, letting Lucy and himself in the now damaged household.
"What happened here?" He asked as I stood off of the ground, Gray started coughing, and Gajeel began wheezing. Oh how I do love it when to demon comes out in me.
Lucy POV
After the scariest experience of my life was over, I found myself sitting in a car in front of one of the prettiest houses I have ever seen. Everything was neat and it looked like there wasn't a thing out of place. The house was a two story white house that had a large porch with furniture, and a balcony hanging above the front door. On the lawn there was a hammock and lawn chairs along with various other decor. The grass was perfectly trimmed and everything had a sense of perfection.
When I heard the engine stop and the car door open, I decided it was time to stop gawking at the outside and see if the inside resembled the idealness of the outside.
Natsu opened the door and walked in like he owned the place. Not knowing what to do, I followed behind until we got to what I guess is the living room and where the party will be held. Unlike the outside though, the inside was like a train wreck. There was food everywhere, chairs flipped, and even a little bit of blood on the counter.
"What happened here?" Natsu asked observing the destroyed home. To my surprise, Mira had both Gray and Gajeel down on the ground coughing and wheezing. I had to hold the laugh at the thought of Mira taking down these two. Natsu didn't though, instead he threw his head back in laughter at the whole situation.
"You let Mira take you guys down?" Natsu asked as he started to laugh again.
"Shut up." Gajeel muttered looking away and crossing his arms.
"You don't understand man! It was us against demon Mira Jane!" Gray yelled. I looked back at Natsu only to find him silent and a bit frightened at that.
"See..." Gray murmured quietly repeating Gajeel's actions.
'What is demon Mira Jane?' I wrote handing it to Natsu, who was the closest at the moment.
"Demon Mira Jane is Mira's alter ego. If you happen to do something at the wrong time and she snaps, you're good as dead." Natsu explained. I didn't understand though. As long as I have known Mira, she was the sweetest out of everyone at school. What ever you needed she was there. At least until gym when Erza was there. Then I guess she got a little vicious.
A door suddenly opened, interrupting my thoughts and out came Erza, wearing a red sweater, gray skinny jeans, and black boots. To give it a little extra touch of Christmas, she had her hair in a bun with a green bow. Now that I look around though, everyone is wearing something red or green. Levy is wearing a headband, Juvia earrings, Gajeel a Santa Claus hat, Loke a red tie, Mira red leggings, and Gray... well Gray was wearing nothing.
Now noticing this, my face started to burn as I buried it into my hands. Apparently Natsu noticed because I heard him screaming something about 'Put some close on stripper, you're scaring Lucy'. When he was finally decent, Natsu pulled my hands down and smiled at me.
Natsu was dressed in a pair of black jeans with a red shirt that had a snowflake along with his scarf that he never seemed to take off. I looked down at my feet in embarrassment. For the occasion, I was wearing a red skirt with fluffy white trimming, green leggings, and black boots.
"What happened in here?" Erza asked looking around the now trashed house.
"U-um... Well..." Gray stuttered.
"Y-you see... um..." Gajeel stammered.
"Well, originally everything was going great, but then a wild boar came running in. To stop it, we flipped over the chairs in order to confine it. Much to our disadvantage, he got out and started to run again. This time we were smart and tried to slow it down but throwing chips on the floor hoping it would stop and eat them. That was when I grabbed a hold of him and threw him out of the door." Mira stated casually as we all gaped at her lie. There was no way Erza would-
"Oh okay. Thanks for taking care of it Mira." Erza replied as she went and sat the chairs back up into place.
Everyone sweat-dropped at that. There is no way any logical person would believe that... right?
But yet, the party continued without any other problems. We played games, listened to music, and surprisingly enough, there were no fights. Most likely because Erza was in between Natsu and Gray, much to Juvia's dislike, and Mira between Gray and Gajeel.
Soon it was time for presents. ( I wont do one from everyone to everyone. Just the ones that I found really funny or cute when thinking of thisWe all know what you really want to see cx )
"Ok this one is from Juvia to Levy." Mira announced tossing Levy the box. She unraveled the gift to find a cute bandanna.
"Thanks Juvia-chan!" Levy squealed hugging her. Juvia giggled in the process as Mira went on.
"This one is from Lucy to Gray." Mira continued, yet again tossing a box only this time in Gray's direction.
"Thanks Mira." Gray said tearing the paper off of the nicely wrapped box. When he opened it, his face dropped and I, yet again, inwardly laughed.
"Really Lucy? You got me a shirt?" Gray asked looking at me with a slightly amused/ confused face.
"Now you have no excuse for stripping, stripper!" Natsu exclaimed as she started to laugh wildly... again.
"Next up is Lucy from Natsu." Erza announced this time. She tossed it to me me and I, miraculously, caught it.
The box was perfect. So perfect, i almost didn't want to tear it open. Almost.
I used the claws on my hands to tear open the paper and opened the decent sized box. When I looked in, I thought I would cry.
Inside the box was a little stuffed dog/ snowman hybrid that had a collar read: Plue.
Underneath the collar were the words: Happy 1st Christmas.
"I remember you mentioning you had a dog like this when-"
I launched myself at Natsu hugging him tight as he all but fell not expecting the sudden impact. He hugged me back and we sat there until Gajeel cleared his throat. I quickly gathered my senses and sat back down in my respective seat.
Many more gifts were distributed after that, and soon it was Natsu's turn to get mine.
Erza slung the box towards him and he caught it like it was nothing. I sat there staring in anticipation waiting to see his reaction.
He opened it and pulled out two necklaces. One had a key and one had a fire emblem and one had a key. He looked a bit perplexed so I took out my board and began explaining.
'I will wear the fire and you the key. This is so you always have a part of me.' I wrote with a smile. Everyone crowed around Natsu to see what i wrote, and at one point, I even saw Mira get an evil glint in her eye.
"I think that was it. It's times like this when I bet you wish Jellal was here." Mira teased looking at Erza. Everyone knew about her crush on him. It didn't help that she stammered like an idiot whenever he was around or mentioned either.
"W-well, it is C-christmas Eve and he i-is spending it with his family." She stuttered. I rest my case.
The party went on a little longer before Natsu looked at his watch and face turned in realization.
"It's almost 1 o'clock Lucy. We might better get going." Natsu stated standing up.
"Bye guys. Almost curfew." Natsu said.
"For once firebrain is going to be responsible?" Gray asked with a smirk as Natsu glared.
"I would stay longer, but I don't want to get Lucy in trouble on her first Christmas with us." Natsu replied as we walked outside without a word.
The car ride was fairly silent with the exception of the music playing in the car and Natsu occasionally singing the lyrics he knew.
We soon pulled into the driveway and walked quietly into the house.
"It's getting late we should probably get to bed." Natsu said walking towards the living room, to get to the stairs.
I walked behind him quietly. There was still something I needed to tell him though.
I reached out and grabbed his sleeve. Natsu turned in reflex to look at me. Only one problem though: I was a tad bit too close. He turned and rammed into my body causing me to fall on my butt and Natsu on his knees. In the action, He looked at me and for a second, nothing else mattered. I found my eyes closing in reflex, and soon felt something warm on my lips.
Soon, the warmth was gone, and I opened my eyes. I saw Natsu staring at me eyes wide, almost regretful at the action. Something built up inside of me and was trying to ooze it's way to the surface.
"N-Natsu..."
Hey guys! Sorry for the late update! I was trying to figure out what went wrong with microsoft but eventually gave up and wrote this on fanfiction. Thank you for all of the reviews! I hope you enjoyed this. Just to clear things up, yes, Lucy did talk. EEEK! In you face doctor! See doctoras can't always be right. Also, there will only be two more chapters after this...
I know, I know. So sad. I will cut this note short though! I love you guys!
