Chapter 25

Epilogue~

Lucy POV

"Pleeeeeeeease~ Pretty pretty pleeeeeease~" Luna begged as her sister, Nashi, stood behind mimicking the gestures as they attempted to beg Natsu and I to allow them on a little date. Natsu was completely against the idea, but I don't really see the problem. They are both good girls and have never done anything to convince us otherwise. But I am getting a bit ahead of myself now aren't I?

You see, it was 20 years ago that I officially became Natsu Dragneel's girlfriend and 18 years ago that I became Lucy Dragneel. It was exactly 16 years ago to the day that I gave birth to the twins of the Dragneel family, Luna and Nashi. Both girls were outgoing, smart, and beautiful with their vibrant pink hair and sparkling brown eyes, though they both had a habit of being a tad bit lazy. Not only that, but 10 years ago I gave birth to yet another child, a little boy named Haru. He had my blonde hair and Natsu's black eyes. Finally, we had another little girl 3 years ago that Natsu decided to name Layla. She looked almost just like Haru, only she had longer hair. Because of Nashi and Luna, people often mistake Haru and Layla. The only thing is there age difference.

"I am not the one to be asking. If you want to go so bad, talk to your father." I said motioning to the living room where he was holding Layla and they were watching a movie. The two girls huffed and went into the living room. I already knew what he was going to say. Those two were his baby girls and I'm sure in his mind, one date = marriage which means moving out and away.

I could hear the three of them arguing in the living room from the kitchen where I was currently cooking. Yep, you heard right I am cooking. No more burning water for me.

After getting tired of hearing the fussing, arguing, and complaining, I finally walked into the living room to solve the matter in one simple move. I quickly washed and dried my hands and made my way to the living room. When I got in there, Natsu had set Layla down on the couch and was now standing and arguing with the two. Natsu and Luna were at each others necks shouting at each other while Nashi was on the other side of the room clutching her hair in her hands due to frustration.

"But Dad! What do you have against us going out? Is it that you don't trust us? Because if I recall, I have done nothing but obeyed the house rules my entire life!" Luna shouted.

"Well-"

"Natsu stop it!" I yelled walking in. Natsu looked at me surprised and jumped back about a foot away from Luna as Layla looked at me in surprise. I put my hands on my hips and stared him straight in the eye as he took a visible gulp.

"Why is it such a big deal to let them go out one night? All they are going to do is go out for a movie and maybe dinner. Plus, they will be together. Just let them go and enjoy themselves." I said as I continued to stare. Natsu looked away.

"Fine…" He muttered.

"Really?!" Luna exclaim as she looked at Nashi who was already making her way over for them to squeal together. Natsu, Layla, and I, already knowing what was to come, quickly covered our ears as the girls had their moment.

"BUT!" Natsu shouted, gathering their attention. Their shoulders slouched and disappointment covered their faces.

"You must be home before midnight AND you have to behave yourself." Natsu said sternly as the two of them nodded excitedly before running upstairs to get ready.

I looked at Natsu who had just sat back down on the couch next to Layla. On the outside, he was cool and collected, but I knew on the inside, he was about to burst.

"be strong Natsu. I don't want to let them go, just as you do, but the time will come when we need to-"

"I know. I just didn't think it would be so soon…" Natsu said trailing off. I looked at him with sympathy before walking over to him and rapping my arms around him. He sighed as I pulled him in closer. I leaned in as he leaned his head back in an attempt to sneak a kiss when Haru decided to come in from outside.

"EWWWWW!" He exclaimed running up the stairs. Natsu chuckled under his breath before laying a now sleeping Layla on the couch and standing to stretch.

We heard footsteps and looked towards the stairs only to Nashi and Luna descending the steps. One look at Natsu told me he was obviously not happy.

"Oh hell no. There is no way either of you will leave this house looking like that." He said.

I took a good look at the girls and what they were wearing. Nashi was wearing a pink crop top that I had allowed her to cut, short shorts and black and white converse. Luna had done her hair in a Dutch rap around braid with a black headband and a bow on top. I looked at Luna and she was wearing a blue jean tank top that tied at the bottom with white lace covering the shoulders. She was wearing white shorts and white high-top converse with black strings. She wearing matching headbands only Luna's was white.

"There is no way I am letting you out of the house wearing that." Natsu spat looking at the two up and down in disgust. The two girls just growled in response.

"Just change the shorts and you can go." I stated as the girls smiled before running back up giddily.

"Lucy?! What is up with you going against everything I say?" Natsu asked with a 'what the heck' expression on his face.

"Natsu, you're being too hard on them. All they want to do is go out for the night. They are beautiful girls, I know you see that, and they have just gone to change. You need to calm down and chill." I said as we made our way to the living room as Layla was just starting to wake up. Natsu ran over to her and picked her up squeezing her to his chest.

"Oh Layla! You wont ever leave me will you?" Natsu asked dramatically as Layla laughed and squeezed him back. When he finally released his grip on her, he pulled back to look at her. She suddenly grabbed his face in her hands and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Don't worry daddy. Lala never leave you." She said. In response he kissed her forehead and jumped down, Nashi and Luna came down once again. This time Nashi was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans and Luna a white pair.

"Be safe." I told them, bringing them in for a hug. They returned it and backed away to see Natsu who was currently crossing his arms and looking away. The two looked at each other and smiled. They then ran over to him and wrapped their arms around his neck. He eventually gave in and wrapped a hand around each of them pulling them close.

"I love you both okay? Don't you ever forget it." Natsu said. In the end I winded up shooing them out so they wouldn't be late. I then turned to Natsu and hugged him. He was definitely not handling this well.

"You're being strong Natsu. I know it is hard." I said as I nuzzled closer.

"What would I do without you?"

"Crash and burn."

And then it was quiet as we stood there in each others' arms.

"Hey Natsu?"

"Hm?"

"I really have the luck of the unwanted don't I?"

And that is the end! I know it was short, but I feel like it allowed you to see a bit into Natsu and Lucy's future. I didn't really give you much on Haru or Layla because i wanted you to really see Natsu react with his first borns.
