"Do you ever get tired when you're under there, tinkering and stuff?" Rose looked down at the Doctor from where she was sitting on the jump seat. Well, looked down at half the Doctor since his torso was wedged under the TARDIS controls. He'd been fiddling with the wires under there for a while now, making occasional grunts as answers to her as they talked.
"Time Lords don' get tired, Rose," he said plainly.
"Yes they do," Rose smirked and rolled her eyes. "I've seen you yawning loads of times, and you did fall asleep during the Fliuriti festival, remember?"
"I wasn't asleep," he countered. "I was thinking. With my eyes closed. It's a Time Lord thing—you wouldn't understand."
"Uh huh," Rose smiled and bit back a laugh.
"Why do you ask, anyways?"
"I don't know. I was just wondering cos you sound a little tired in your mumbles."
"I'm not tired," he scoffed. "And I don't mumble."
A scuffling noise sounded, and the Doctor scooted out from under the controls. He dusted his leather jacket off and then looked over to where Rose had her feet propped up on the console.
"Feet down," he nodded to her. "And pass me the spanner would you?"
Rose did as he asked and the Doctor gave her another nod before he returned to his previous position under the console.
"Are you just gonna work on the TARDIS all day?" Rose asked.
"Yup."
"What, no adventuring or traveling the universe?" she continued with a frown.
"We just had an adventure," he remarked with a grunt. "Don't tell me you've forgotten Satellite 5 already. Humans must have really short memories then."
"No, I haven't forgotten," Rose said. "But that was yesterday. What are we doing today?"
"I told you. Working on the TARDIS."
"And what am I supposed to do?" Rose asked as she moved off the jump seat to crouch on the floor so that she could see the Doctor's face.
"I don't know, go explore the TARDIS or something," he glanced at her and shrugged his shoulders.
"Fine, I will then," Rose said in an irritated tone. She got up quickly and stalked out of the console room. She didn't need him to keep her company all the time. She could have fun on her own.

Turns out, having fun on her own was pretty boring. After looking through various rooms of the TARDIS (the home theater room, kitchen, pool, sauna, and a small art gallery) she wound up going to the library and reading for a few hours. Her book was good and all, but she preferred reading with company. So now she made her way back to the main console room to pull the Doctor from under the controls and demand that he take her somewhere.
"Hey, Doctor, you've been working long enough, let's go…" she broke off when she walked into the room and found the Doctor fast asleep. He was still partially under the controls and had his sonic screwdriver resting on his chest along with one of his hands. His eyes were closed and Rose could hear him snoring softly. A smile spread across Rose's face as she watched him.
"Time Lords never get tired, eh?" she murmured. There was no answer from the dozing Doctor.
