"Ooo come on, Doctor!" Rose smiled as she tugged the Doctor along. "Let's go ride Space Mountain next!"
The Doctor made a whining noise and dragged his feet saying, "Er, why don't you go ahead and I'll meet you when you get out."
Rose stopped and looked back at him with a confused expression. He wouldn't look at her and fiddled with the Mickey Mouse ears hat he had on his head.
"Doctor," Rose said slowly. "Are you… are you afraid to go on Space Mountain?"
His cheeks tinted pink and he mumbled, "…maybe."
Rose covered her mouth with her hand, biting back a laugh. The Doctor drooped his shoulders, pouting his lip and scuffling his feet on the concrete.
"You're afraid to go on Space Mountain," Rose started with a quivering voice from holding back her laughter. "Even though, you live in a spaceship and fly through space at speeds more terrifying than a rollercoaster."
"It's not that I'm afraid of the ride," the Doctor defended himself. "It's just that I've had problems with some Naghtieahl on Space Mountain before and you don't ever want to meet a Naghtieahl in the dark, cos they're super terrifying, and like to get into your head and twist it and, and, and I just don't want to go on Space Mountain okay?!"
The Doctor crossed his arms and turned away from his companion.
"I don't think there's any Naggytealal—" Rose started.
"Naghtieahl," the Doctor corrected with a huff.
"Naghtieahl or whatever on Space Mountain anymore," Rose finished. "Not if you've already taken care of them."
"There could be."
"Fine then," Rose said. "I'll go ride Space Mountain and you can stay here by yourself, alone, until I'm done."
With that said, Rose turned and started walking toward the line. She didn't get very far before the Doctor called out, "I guess… I guess I could try it again."
Smiling, Rose went back over to him and gripped his hand reassuringly.
"It's gonna be great!"
—
The whole time while they were waiting in line, the Doctor was practically shaking. He kept glancing around at the people surrounding them, looking for any Naghtieahl. Rose did her best to console him—holding his hand tightly and giving him a hug every once in a while when he looked truly terrified—and she did calm him down mostly when they got on the ride.
The Doctor's screams when they spiraled down the track in the dark were absolutely hysterical. Rose couldn't help herself but laugh as every turn they took he'd let out sounds like a dying whale. He insisted on holding Rose's hand during the ride, and basically almost broke it by squeezing so hard.
"See? I told you there wouldn't be any Naghtieahl," Rose said once the ride was over.
"Hmph," the Doctor snorted. "Guess so."
Rose could tell that he was embarrassed. The two walked around the park in silence with the Doctor moping around.
"Cheer up," the smiled and bumped her shoulder against his as they sat on a park bench. "You had fun didn't you?"
"I humiliated myself."
"Wasn't that bad," Rose bit her lip, hiding her smile.
"Yes it was," he groaned and covered his face in his hands. Rose gave him a pat on the shoulder.
"Hey, would it make you feel better if I did something humiliating?" she asked.
"I don't know," he mumbled behind his hands. "Would it make me laugh?"
"Wait here," Rose smiled. "And keep your eyes covered until I say."
"What?" he started to pull his hands away.
"Oi!" Rose pushed them back over his eyes. "Keep 'em closed!"
A small smirk was starting to spread across the Doctor's face, "Okay…"
"I'll be back in, er," Rose glanced at her watch. "Hopefully a half hour."
"Half hour?!" The Doctor spluttered. "You want me to wait her for a half hour?"
"Yup," Rose said as she got up and started walking away. "Think about something you like while you're waiting!"
—
The Doctor ended up thinking about Rose for the whole time that she was gone. Thinking about what she was going to do, how pretty she was, how much he was happy that she was traveling with him, her laugh, her cute nose, her pretty eyes, how much he wanted to just hug her all day, and kiss her and… His thoughts trailed on and on.
"Okay, Doctor," Rose's voice broke through his turning dirtier thoughts. "You can look now."
The Doctor removed his hands from his eyes and looked up to see Cinderella standing before him. His mouth fell open. Rose was in a large blue dress that included long arm length blue gloves and a black choker around her neck. Her hair was done up in a sort of bun with a blue headband in front of it. She was wearing pearl earrings and had put on more makeup so that she had rosy cheeks, red lips, and darker eye shadow. A perfect representation of the famous Disney princess.
"You can go ahead and laugh now," Rose gave him her tongue touched grin while she fiddled with a strand of hair that had slipped from her bun. "I already did when I saw myself."
"You look absolutely beautiful!" The Doctor proclaimed. "You, you, you're Cinderella!"
"Yup," Rose blushed. "And I don't look beautiful, I look ridiculous."
"No you don't," the Doctor hopped over to the bench and went over to her. "You look stunning and, and, oh! I need to get something really quick! Meet me by the castle!"
"Doctor—" Rose started, but broke off when the Doctor gave her a quick kiss to her cheek and then scampered off. Rose giggled and looked down at herself, twirling her dress a bit. She then made her way toward Fantasy Castle with a smile. A few times she was stopped by a little kid who wanted a picture with "Cinderella". She happily obliged, laughing when a few boys asked her for a kiss as well.
She had just given a hug to another child (also dressed as Cinderella) when she felt a tap on her shoulder. Turning, her eyes widened when she saw the Doctor dressed as Prince Charming standing behind her. A large smile spread across her face and she let out a laugh. In his hands, the Doctor held a single glass slipper.
"I believe you left this, my lady?" he grinned. A crowd of amusement park goers had formed around them making Rose blush fully.
"May I see if it fits?" the Doctor asked as he knelt to the ground. Rose slipped out of the flip-flop she had been wearing, and let the Doctor put to glass slipper on her.
"Perfect fit," he smiled. The people around them cheered as he stood up beside her.
"Looks like we got some fans," Rose whispered to him with a giggle.
"Indeed," he agreed and waved to the people.
"Kiss her, kiss her!" the crowd cheered.
"Oh," Rose blushed. She glanced up at her Prince Charming nervously and saw, to her surprise, that he was grinning.
"Well we don't want to disappoint our fans, now do we?" He said as he reached forward to wrap his arms around her.
"Mmm," Rose giggled. "Maybe not."
"Good," he smiled. The crowd let out a happy cheer as he leaned forward and claimed her lips to his in a soft kiss.
