SURPRISE! BACK TO BACK! NOW do you all see why it took me 2 weeks to update? Well ANYWAY last time King Boo revealed himself to be the one messing with Luigi and everyone else's minds...While also revealing the once again he has trapped Mario within a portrait...AND then Traps Yoshi and the others in portraits as well... :o Will Luigi kick some King Boo butt? LETS FIND OUT!
Luigi stood completely immobile as he stared King Boo down. Not even moments ago King Boo had taken the last of the people most important to him. Now he was completely alone…Left to fight his greatest fear…alone.
"What's the matter? Too chicken to fight without your little friends helping you? *laugh*"
Luigi didn't respond, he didn't know how to respond. Truth be told he was terrified, true this hadn't been the first time he and the Boo had battled, but this time there was a lot more at stake here. Not only was Mario's life….His brother's life in jeopardy, but also the lives of his wife and closest friends. King Boo had the power to do whatever he pleased with them and that thought alone terrified Luigi to no end. Several moments of silence ensued before Luigi suddenly turned to look at the portraits of his friends. All their faces looked just as afraid as he was even Daisy! Even the bravest person he had ever known had a look of sheer terror. Something in Luigi suddenly snapped, determination suddenly filled his heart. He was their only hope now, he had to do this for them….For Azalea… Hearing his daughter's name gave Luigi a surge of adrenalin, giving a firm nod at his friends' portraits Luigi quickly gave his attention to his foe.
"THIS IS FOR MY FRIENDS YOU FIEND!"
Before King Boo even knew what hit him, Luigi suddenly vacuumed up another spiked sphere and shot it at King Boo's face. King Boo let out a screech in agony as he suddenly shrank to his original size. Simply due to reflex Luigi immediately turned his flashlight function to his Poltergust 5,000 on, as expected King Boo let out another screen in agony, however as Luigi went to turn on the vacuum function a familiar bright light engulfed King Boo disabling the device.
"DON'T THINK I'M FINISHED JUST YET YOU PEA BRAIN!
King Boo bellowed, suddenly ramming the floor causing it to become unstable. Luigi had to jump over ripples that had formed.
"YOU THINK YOU'RE SO TOUGH? WELL TRY UTILIZING THIS!"
Suddenly a spiked sphere the size of King Boo when he had been quadruple his size appeared out of nowhere nearly crushing Luigi. King Boo let out a mocking laugh as Luigi yelled out in fear, jumping out of the way of the obstacle.
"LETS MAKE THIS GAME MORE INTERESTING SHALL WE?"
Once again the floor suddenly became unstable and Luigi was once again forced to avoid NOT only the spike sphere but also the ripples.
"NAH….A LITTLE MORE TO THE LEFT!"
"YAHHHHH!"
Luigi couldn't help but let out a yell as the ground unexpectedly tilted to the left causing not only him to slide but the sphere as well. However just as the sphere was inches from him….
"NAH TO THE RIGHT!"
Luigi let out a groan as it was obvious that King Boo was only toying with him at this point. The sphere rolled away from him, however Luigi struggled to keep from sliding down with it.
"TIRED YET? *laugh*"
To Luigi's frustration the floor suddenly returned back to it's original state causing him to fall face flat onto the floor.
"I'm-a-getting so TIRED of this!" Luigi growled under his breath, quickly pulling himself back up. King Boo hovered several feet away from him.
"So you ARE tired….Does that mean Baby Luigi is ready for a nap! *laugh*"
Luigi felt his face burn with anger, however he had no verbal response. King Boo simply continued to laugh at him. Glancing over to the far right corner, Luigi stared at the large spiked sphere. Obviously it was far too large for Luigi's Poltergust 5000 to be able to redirect back at King Boo. However the sphere seemed to be the only way to physically harm King Boo.
"How do I attack with something I can't even lift….?"
Thinking hard Luigi suddenly recounted King Boo's own words just moments ago.
"A little to the left….."
Luigi once again looked over at the spiked sphere it was directly diagonal from where he stood…..And King Boo….Directly in the line….
"THAT'S IT!"
Not even pausing to rethink Luigi suddenly pointed at King Boo.
"You TALK about Babies and yet YOU don't even have the guts to attack me HEAD ON!"
Luigi laughed mockingly.
"You've gotta use some kind of TOY Instead of fighting me like a MAN!"
King Boo's face was suddenly twisted with anger, however he didn't respond nor move.
"Well THIS time I'll give you a free shot! So C'MON COME AND GET ME YOUR MAJESTY!"
Before Luigi even had time to blink, King Boo suddenly bolted for him. Lunging into the air King Boo pelted towards the ground where Luigi stood. Despite the fear tingling in his body Luigi stood his ground.
"Just a bit more….."
Luigi suddenly felt the ground give a jolt as King Boo suddenly collided into the ground just centimeters in front of him. Luigi also felt the ground jolt to the left as suddenly the large sphere was flung into the air.
"WELL it looks like you weren't playing the chicken this time…."
King Boo's voice suddenly hissed, Luigi turned and was face to face with the Boo.
"HOWEVER don't think that winning a simple game of chicken is going to defea…."
King Boo's voice suddenly trailed off as Luigi's attention suddenly averted to King Boo's head rather than his face. Before King Boo even had time to speak the sphere suddenly collided with him, Luigi on the other hand jumped to the ground to avoid the aerial assault. King Boo let out a screech as suddenly his crown gave a glow, that engulfed him before it disappeared. Seeing the opportunity Luigi immediately turned his flashlight function earning yet another screech of pain. Giving one last confident smile Luigi turned his vacuum function on.
"NOooooo!"
King Boo's screen echoed in the room as he struggled to resist the pull that was now pulling him into Luigi's Poltergust 5,000. Luigi held his Poltergust 5,000 firmly as King Boo's attempts to break free of the pull.
"CURSE YOU! CURSE YOU PATHETIC PLU…"
King Boo's voice was suddenly cut off as a puff of smoke came from the Poltergust 5,000.
"Well this "pathetic" Plumber just kicked your butt!" Luigi whispered a bit of excitement in his voice. A bright red light suddenly caused Luigi to shield his eyes, several seconds went by before the light began to die down. Opening his eyes in a wince Luigi saw that the glow was coming from King Boo's crown that was floating overhead. A bit of nervousness came over Luigi as he instinctively held his Poltergust 5,000 in front of him. However the glow coming from King Boo's crown suddenly went out and the crown fell to the ground in front of him. Just as Luigi was going to pick the crown up a bright yellow light suddenly erupted from it, causing Luigi to yet again shield his eyes. Seconds would pass before Luigi slowly opened his eyes and was met with a breathtaking sight.
"There it is….. *gulp* Number 3.…."
Not even hesitating Luigi immediately held his hands out for his prize, he felt an overwhelming power flow into his body. This sensation lingered for several seconds before the light vanished.
"WAY TO GO LUIGI!"
Luigi was suddenly thrown out of his thoughts as several familiar voices cheered. Quickly turning around Luigi was shocked to see all of his friends standing only several feet from him. Luigi was flabbergasted, Daisy was the first to run up to Luigi she took him in a tight hug.
"You did it Sweetie!" She laughed. "You showed that spook who's boss!" She immediately kissed Luigi's cheek.
"You really showed him Bro!"
Luigi felt his heart stop as a voice he wasn't expecting spoke.
"….M….Mario?" He choked quickly turning his head and to his surprise Mario stood next to Peach, Yoshi and Birdo. Mario simply nodded, while Peach, Yoshi and Birdo smiled. "B-but he turned you…. !" Luigi was suddenly taken aback, as realization set in. "He turned you ALL into portraits!" Silence plagued the room for several minutes. Mario in particular stared at Luigi confused.
"What are you talking about Weege….I've been stuck in this room the WHOLE time…." Mario finally responded, receiving looks of shock from not only Luigi but Yoshi and the others as well. "I tried talking to you all when King Boo finally decided to show himself….But none of you heard me…."
"We tried giving you advice…But you didn't hear us….." This time it had been Yoshi who had spoken. Silence once again plagued the room.
"…..So this was all…..*groan* So this was all just ANOTHER illusion?!" Luigi suddenly broke the silence with his irritated realization.
"It seems to be that way….." Mario finally whispered shaking his head. All 6 friends stared at each other for a while, before Luigi's gaze fell onto Daisy's arm.
"! Daisy you're still bleeding!" He gasped, taking his wife's arm.
"I'm fine Sweetie, It'll take a lot more than a lamp to stop me!" Daisy reassured her husband soothingly. Meanwhile Birdo was fussing over Yoshi's bruised shoulder, not even noticing that her abdomen was slightly bruised. Before Luigi or Yoshi could fuss over their wives' injuries a familiar buzzing sound erupted in the room.
"Talk about perfect timing…" Luigi whispered shaking his head with a smile, as he pulled his Gameboy horror out of his pocket.
"Well I'm gonna guess from that look on your face Sonny that you've got some good news!"
"Star number 3 Professor!" Luigi responded nodding. Mario came up behind Luigi and gave him a pat on the back.
"And it looks like you've found Mario too!"
The group of 6 smiled at each other. Luigi looked over at Mario while Peach took Mario's arm in her own.
"Oh, is that King Boo's crown laying on the ground over there?"
Everyone turned and stared at the crown that still sat on the ground.
"You all might want to pick that up, *chuckle* A little victory trophy!"
Luigi knelt down and picked the crown up and was met with a surprise.
"Is that…..?" Luigi whispered, as he stared at a small picture that was now engraved into the floor. It was a picture of a Island with a familiar star hovering over it. Birdo and Yoshi took each other's hand.
"It looks like we're heading back home….." Yoshi whispered, his voice sounded both relieved but also solemn. Birdo squeezed Yoshi's hand in response.
"Yes….Home…." She solemnly whispered back nodding.
Elsewhere…
"Is this really how it's gonna end…..?"
I have to say, my body appears to have officially given up. Bowser certainly knows how to keep his word…Nobody comes around my cell anymore…Haven't seen anyone in days….I am officially STARVING! I haven't been able to sit myself up, let alone attempt to hold my weight on my hands. Tormenting growls from my stomach happen more times than I care to count.
"I wonder if this is what it feels like when your body is disintegrating?"
Everything in my body aches…It even hurts to blink. I haven't heard Ilario, Angela or Azalea since that last time…My heart aches even more than my body…It feels empty…alone….
"…..Hopeless….."
Meanwhile…
BOOM!
THUMP!
THUMP!
…..
"AURGH!"
Several Dry Bones and Goombas shuddered in a corner as Bowser stomped angrily around the room.
"GRRR, Kamek I am growing IMPATIENT!" Bowser growled as he stared at a large TV screen, showing the three cells of Ilario, Angela and Azalea. Kamek himself seemed frustrated.
"I'm sorry your Gnarliness…These little brats are stronger than anticipated….The power hasn't grown weaker in the slightest….." Bowser suddenly took a metal bar and squeezed it in his hand, snapping it. All the lackeys shuddered once more.
"Well DO something about IT! My brilliant plan should already be in motion!" Kamek winced.
"I'm afraid we don't have many options….." Kamek started hesitantly. "We can't deprive them of anymore food….The amount we're providing them now is just enough to keep their bodies functioning…" Kamek cast a slight glance at the TV as well. "Depriving them of any more will only cause their bodies to crash…We NEED them conscious!" Both Bowser and Kamek were silent for a moment, before Kamek glanced at another screen, a smirk etched on his face. "The Whelp has already outlived her usefulness!" Kamek smiled again, as the satisfaction of seeing the daughter of one of his greatest nemeses in such a pathetic state amused him.
"ENOUGH!" Bowser suddenly bellowed, causing all the lackeys even Kamek to flinch in fear. "I couldn't care lessabout Yoshi and Birdo's little spawn….She is NO longer of use to me…." Bowser growled pressing his finger against the TV screen showing Shelly's cell, creating a few cracks into the screen. "I want you to get what I need from THOSE brats….I don't care WHAT it takes…." Bowser hissed. Several seconds of silence went by before Bowser turned towards the TV screen showing Shelly's cell. "As for Yoshi and Birdo's SPAWN…." Bowser gave a slight murderous smirk.
"She can DIE in that cell for all I care…."
....*silence*... *gulp* ... FUN FACT! This chapter and chapter 34 were ORIGINALLY going to be one chapter BUT I realized how long "what is now chapter 34" was...SOooo I decided to split them... SO it looks like Luigi certainly DOES still have his AWESOME sleuthing skills! ^.^ And he certainly DID Kick some King Boo butt! KUDOS TO THE MAN IN GREEN! :D
Well it looks like the group is off to Yoshi's Island! ... *silence* ... *sigh* Well it's been QUITE a while since we've heard from Shelly hasn't it...*Goes back to Chapter 22* ! YEESH That HAS been a while...And it looks like Bowser and Kamek are starting to get aggravated...
Well I hope you all enjoyed the chapter...I don't know how long it'll be before I post the next one... As I haven't had time to start it yet...BUT I'm definitely going to try to get to it as soon as I can! :D AS ALWAYS THANKS EVERYONE!
