Hehe SURPRISE! ^.^ I felt bad for leaving you all with such a short chapter, that I decided to give you all another one! This should make up for the long wait I put you guys through. Well enough of that, LAST time Yoshi and the others made it into the treacherous "Blargg's Pit" But it seems somebody has decided to intrude on our heroes' search….Let's see who that "somebody" is shall we? Chapter 38 COMMENCE!
Yoshi in fact everyone jumped startled as a voice, quite familiar to Yoshi broke the silence.
"AFTER he SWORE he'd NEVER come back…"
Yoshi felt his spine tingle, quickly turning around Yoshi was met with a familiar presence.
"Why the sudden change in mind? That CLUMSY daughter of yours NOT learn her lesson?" A Wiggler whose flower was obviously withered stood before the group of 6, although her full attention was on Yoshi. Yoshi felt frustration run through his body.
"I'm not in the mood for this Wiggler…" He spoke irritated.
"Well I'm in the PERFECT mood!" Wiggler laughed, also sharing a hint of frustration in her voice. "I CERTAINLY haven't forgotten the good trouncing you gave me 4 years ago…." Birdo and the other 4 turned to look at Yoshi, the latter obviously confused.
Flashback….
"She CAN'T be here….She WOULDN'T come here…."
Yoshi ran anxiously through the foliage, quickly looking in all directions for his missing daughter. He had identified her tracks just outside the entrance; but he insisted to himself that Shelly hadn't entered the Forbidden Forest; not after he and Birdo warned her countless times about it's formidable dangers.
"She must've stopped at the entrance….And went the other….."
Yoshi was pulled from his thoughts as he was suddenly met with a terrifying sight. Yoshi stood at the edge of a fairly large ditch and at it's bottom laid his daughter, obviously unconscious. Yoshi let out a labored gasp, however the sound of stampeding footsteps caused him to look away from his daughter. A large and obviously very angry wiggler charged down the steep incline and was heading straight for Shelly. Panicking Yoshi leapt from his position and slid down the steep incline. His heart beating rapidly, as the wiggler was only mere inches from his daughter. Letting out a growl Yoshi suddenly rammed the wiggler with full force, knocking it away from Shelly. Yoshi let out a huff in anger as an obvious female's voice grunted just a few feet from him.
"WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA!" The wiggler shouted furious as she pulled herself off the ground. "CAN'T YOU SEE I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF GIVING THIS CLUMSY YOSHI A PROPER TROUNCING!" Yoshi let out another growl and positioned himself between his daughter and the wiggler.
"NOT my daughter you aren't!" He snarled, quickly glancing over at Shelly before facing the wiggler again.
"DAUGHTER?" The wiggler gasped obviously surprised. "This CLUMSY idiot is YOUR daughter?!" Yoshi felt his spine tingle.
"YES!" Yoshi whispered furiously. The wiggler seemed shocked at first however she quickly returned to her angered state.
"Well I guess you're gonna go down with her then…." Wiggler whispered snickering. "Because your brat ruined my precious flower when she landed on my head!" Wiggler growled, gesturing to the withered flower on her head. "And I plan on returning the favor!" Without warning Wiggler charged towards Yoshi.
…...
Yoshi panted in exhaustion as he walked past the unconscious Wiggler, giving her one last huff as he made his way over to Shelly. Kneeling down Yoshi swiftly looked his daughter over to make sure she wasn't severely injured. To his relief she didn't seem to have any major injuries. Yoshi gently put his hands under his daughter's body and lifted her off the ground before gently placing her onto his back. Without hesitation Yoshi broke into a run, glancing one last time at Wiggler as he made his way back towards the exit.
Back to present time….
Yoshi let out a growl as he relived his most unpleasant memory. Wiggler seeing the sour look on Yoshi's face caused her to laugh.
"I got pummeled with a barrage of punches and ground pounds; ALL because I wanted give his CLUMSY daughter a proper trouncing!" Birdo clenched her fists and suddenly made a move towards Wiggler.
"DON'T you DAREsay a foul word about MY daughter you hot-tempered cretin!" She spat, venom obviously in her tone. Wiggler's face was suddenly twisted with hatred that matched Birdo's.
"So YOU'RE the Mother?" Wiggler scoffed. "Well I can definitely see the resemblance…..That explains where she got her stupidity.." Wiggler finished venom also in her voice, but also amusement. The 5 friends suddenly gasped shocked, as Wiggler was suddenly pelted in the face with an egg.
"INSULT MYdaughter or MY family AGAIN and I'll make sure I knock that disgusting flower right off your HEAD!" Birdo spat, her entire body trembling. Yoshi stared at his wife flabbergasted. However a sudden growl caused the entire group to turn their attention back to Wiggler. Her body had gone from bright yellow to fiery red in seconds; her eyes glowed with rage.
"NOW you've DONE IT!" Wiggler snarled, locking her sight on Birdo. "You've sneezed your LAST egg you FILTHY WENCH!" Without warning Wiggler charged at Birdo. Despite her anger Birdo stood petrified completely glued to her spot. Yoshi's eyes widened; as Wiggler charged towards his wife. Immediately Yoshi felt a surge of anger and adrenaline; without hesitation Yoshi charged towards Wiggler at great speed. Just as Wiggler was merely centimeters from Birdo, Yoshi rammed into Wiggler with all his might; knocking her into the tree.
"NOT MY WIFE YOU WITCH!" Yoshi snarled, shielding Birdo with his body. Wiggler despite being caught off guard immediately stood herself up.
"THIS BATTLE was originally just between YOU and ME….Yoshi…." Wiggler whispered furiously. "BUT your blessed wife has made the mistake of crossing my path…" Wiggler smiled insanely as her body suddenly began to glow. "And for that she will DIE!" The 6 friends stared in horror as a huge shadow grew and loomed over them. In a matter of moments Yoshi and Birdo were looking up at a massive creature. "This battle will NOT be like the last one Yoshi!" Wiggler's voice boomed shaking the forest. "EGGS WON'T save you THIS time! GET READY TO BE SMASHED LIKE A MEASLY GOOMBA!" Yoshi suddenly felt Birdo grab his shoulder.
"LET THE TROUNCING BEGIN!"
YEP! It was Wiggler! I give kudos to Happy Yoshi for guessing correctly! Heh it may have been a guess but it looks like it was a GOOD one!
Uh-oh looks like Yoshi and Birdo are in some trouble….I unintentionally put a movie reference in the chapter…And when I mean unintentional I mean, when I was writing the chapter I wasn't thinking about the reference when I wrote it….But after reading through the chapter, the reference hit me… XD I don't know if the reference is obvious or not but if you want to take a guess at it, go for it! I poked a little fun at Birdo's egg "throwing" abilities...Well it looks like Yoshi and Birdo are in for a battle, I'm sorry that I'm making you all wait but on the upside I'm gonna try to make the next chapter longer than the last 2.…Well again THANK YOU ALL for your support!
