How's it going everyone? Last time our heroes finally found out the reason for Bowser kidnapping Shelly, Ilario, Angela and Azalea…We also learned of Kamek's boiled over hatred for Yoshi…And of course Yoshi is ready to kick some Kamek butt….Who will come out victorious? Chapter commence!
Father's enraged yell rang throughout the room, as he suddenly bolted towards Kamek and Bowser, the light illuminating off him had completely engulfed his body now. Mother immediately pulled me close to her, as she quickly backed away. I looked up at her, she didn't look at me, instead her full attention was on Father. Mother's eyes held fear, as if she feared Father's newly summoned power. My body flinched as a familiar voice screeched, quickly looking forward I saw that Kamek had left his position and charged towards Father. As Father and Kamek closed in on each other, I felt nervousness take me over, normally Father would have made an attack by now…It wasn't like him to get this close to an enemy, he excelled at far-range attacks, what was he doing? I felt my heart stop as Father suddenly rose his fist, the light on his fist became larger. It became obvious, he was going for a head on attack. Before I even had a chance to blink Father suddenly threw a punch at Kamek, however just as quickly as Father had made his move, Kamek quickly rose his scepter. A loud noise erupted into the room as Father's fist collided with Kamek's scepter, a mini explosion quickly followed. Both Father and Kamek were thrown backwards, however neither of them looked harmed. They both glared at each other viciously as the dust settled.
"Impressive power Yoshi…" Kamek spoke coolly. "I may not know exactly where you obtained it…But it is NO match for MY powers!" Instantly Kamek began shooting spheres of energy at Father. Slightly caught off guard, Father clumsily dodged the first few before regaining his composure. "Oh COME on Yoshi!" Kamek shouted, irritation in his voice. "STOP fleeing from my attacks and FIGHT!" With those words Father suddenly made another head on attack on Kamek. "Ah Ah AH! NOT SO CLOSE!" Kamek suddenly cackled, as he suddenly released a barrage of energy spheres, Father managed to dodge them all, but it suddenly became clear that had been exactly what Kamek had wanted. "YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE ENEMY HERO!" Before I even had time to blink, Kamek suddenly charged a large energy sphere and launched it at Father, distracted by the smaller energy spheres, the sphere made a direct hit.
"DADDY!"
I couldn't help but cry out, as Father was thrown into a nearby pillar. My instinct response was to run out to help him, however Mother despite her fear for Father's safety held me close to her.
"YOSHI!"
I suddenly heard voices from my right, quickly looking over I saw that King Mario, Queen Peach, King Luigi and Queen Daisy had attempted to break the barrier separated them from the battle.
"THAT WAS A LOW TACTIC KAMEK!" King Mario shouted, completely furious, smacking the barrier with his fist several times. A loud laugh suddenly erupted in the room. Bowser had finally decided to break his silence, as he turned towards King Mario.
"QUIET PLUMBER!" Bowser hissed. "This battle is between Kamek and Little Green Donkey Daddy!" Bowser chuckled his last words as he glanced at me, before giving his attention to Father. To my relief and astonishment Father was still conscious, he let out a huff in pain and exhaustion. He was on his knees, using his right hand to support himself.
"HAD enough yet Donkey Daddy?!" Kamek cackled, continuing with Bowser's taunt. I heard Father let out a hiss at the insult, the light illuminating off his body began to regain its power. I saw Father turn his attention towards Mother. They both stared at each other for a while, before finally Father glanced at me.
"I'M JUST GETTING STARTED!"
Kamek barely had time to react as Father suddenly jumped to his feet and charged at him. Pulling his fist back again, Father attempted another punch towards Kamek. With only seconds to react Kamek pulled his scepter out, however before he had a chance to generate an attack, Father's fist collided with the top of it. A loud crash sounded as again both Father and Kamek were thrown backwards by the blast.
"Interesting battle choice Yoshi…" Kamek hissed, using his free hand to wipe the top of his scepter, smothering the smoke that had been coming off of it. "Are you too good to use eggs anymore?" Father didn't respond to Kamek's question, he simply shuffled his feet a bit, obviously impatient with Kamek's stalling. A malicious playful smile suddenly crept onto Kamek's face. "OR…." I suddenly felt my body tense up as I realized that Kamek's eyes were on me. "Is it that you've abandoned your instinct methods in order to avoid displaying those instinct skills that your little Spawn pathetically LACKS the ABILITY TO DO!" I squeezed my eyes tightly shut as Kamek's words echoed, knowing that despite their harshness were 100% true…I didn't need Father or Mother to tell me…I knew it the moment Father had stopped using his tongue to eat and gather food…The moment Father stopped using his Flutter Jump related moves in sports…Ever since that fateful day as an infant, when I found that I wasn't able to use my tongue and Flutter Jump…..Father had forced himself to stop using his instinct skills…In order to avoid reminding me on a daily basis the qualities that I lacked…It was all true…Every single word of it…Father had endured years of possible mockery, for his choice of refusing to use his tongue and Flutter Jump…He did all of this…For me…He made all these sacrifices, in order to make sure that I grew up not feeling like a failure…
My thoughts were suddenly interrupted as a loud roar sounded. Father throwing a lightning fast punch towards Kamek's face. However Kamek quickly responded by shielding himself with his scepter, much to Father's anger. Father's fist collided with the handle of the scepter. This time an explosion didn't follow, Father and Kamek simply stared each other down, Father's fist still in the handle of Kamek's scepter.
"Don't you DARE talk about MY daughter in THAT WAY!" Father snarled, his fist trembling in anger. Kamek responded with a scornful laugh.
"Why? And mask the OBVIOUS truth!" Before I knew what was going on I suddenly found myself on the ground, as Mother threw herself over me shielding me. I heard all 4 Royals shout for my friends, as suddenly I saw a bright green light engulf the room.
"I SAID SHUT UP!"
I heard Mother whimper as clung onto me. A loud explosion was heard and with it several shouts of shock and fear. Several moments went by before I slowly opened my eyes, Mother was still on top of me. Slowly I tried looking where Father and Kamek had been. My eyes widened in shock, Father stood in the exact same place he had been before, Kamek however was nowhere to be seen. I quickly scanned the rest of the area, the 4 Royals were also on the ground. King Mario was shielding Queen Peach with his body, while King Luigi was shielding Queen Daisy with his. Their attention was fixed on Father, King Mario, King Luigi and Queen Daisy stared at him completely shocked, Queen Peach stared at Father, a hint of fear in her eyes, she even glanced over at Mother, although Mother didn't know it. Lastly my attention bolted towards Ilario, Angela and Azalea, they were unharmed however their faces were completely petrified, within seconds I felt myself overcome with fear as well. Suddenly heavy breathing caused me to turn my head. Father was now facing his left, both his hands were glowing more brightly than the rest of his body. Suddenly to my shock and amazement what seemed to be an extremely large egg began to form in Father's hands.
"It looks like it only took one egg to take you out!" Father heaved, a smirk was spread across his face. I turned my head where Father was looking, I had to catch my breath as a huge egg like impression was indented into the wall…Not only that but Kamek appeared to be unconscious on the ground right under the indent. My body suddenly flinched as I felt someone tug on my arm, quickly glancing over I saw that Mother had seemingly gotten over her frightened state and slowly got to her feet, while helping me up as well. She stared at me for a moment, quickly scanning me with her eyes to make sure I wasn't hurt, before her attention went back to Father. Father continued to breath heavily stared fixedly at Kamek before turning his attention forward again. He let out a single deep breath, a triumphant smile spread across his face. "And now lets see if this horrible device of yours goes down just as easily!" I quickly turned my attention towards the device.
"YOU WOULDN'T DARE!"
A growl suddenly ended the silence as Bowser stepped into sight, his face was furious.
"You want to BET!" Father shouted as he to my amazement lifted the large egg ready to aim it at the device. Before Bowser could respond back, Father threw the giant egg with all his might. It sped towards the device, however suddenly gasps filled the room as the egg suddenly vanished into thin air, just inches from the device.
"HEHE LOOKS LIKE YOU'VE USED UP THAT MYSTERIOUS POWER YOU SOMEHOW OBTAINED!"
Father stared dumbfounded, as suddenly Kamek appeared in front of the device. He still seemed a bit banged up, but his injuries weren't as bad as they had been moments ago. I looked around everyone except for Kamek looked as dumbfounded as I was. How did that egg just disappear out of thin air? Father suddenly let out a growl as his body no longer held that luminous glow. Clenching his teeth Father also clenched his fists, slowly a weak light engulfed his hands. Immediately an intimidating growl sounded.
"I DON'T THINK SO! KAMEK LIGHTS OUT!"
Without warning my vision suddenly blurred, I felt my eyelids begin to droop as I suddenly felt very sleepy. I felt Mother's arm slowly release mine, as if slipping. Almost immediately afterward, I felt something grab me around the waste. Before I could even comprehend what was going on my vision suddenly came back to me. I felt an arm wrap around my neck roughly, slightly confused I tried to move the arm away, however I was met with a baffling sight…The arm holding me wasn't Mother's…Blinking I was startled, Mother and Father were on the other side of the room, not only that but both of them seemed slightly dazed, as if they had just woken up from a nap. Panic suddenly took me over as I stared at the arm wrapped around my neck. Glancing over with my eyes, I saw who was holding me….
A Hammer Bro…
Before I had a chance to cry out a hand was cuffed roughly over my mouth completely muting me. I tried to struggle, but the Hammer Bro easily heaved me over to Bowser. I felt my body tremble as Bowser smirked at me.
"Even your parents outplayed by my Knockout gas Little Spawn!" He chuckled tauntingly at me. I stared at him fearful, realization had struck me. That gas they had used to knock me out when they kidnapped me back on my home Island…That's why all the Royalty were so out of it when Father, Mother and I had entered this room ….Bowser must have just finished using the gas on them when we walked in… My thoughts were cut short as Bowser's voice sounded again. "Looks like it's the end of the line for yo-"
*THUMP*
Bowser's smile had suddenly vanished as he quickly turned his head, his face furious. Quickly looking over, I saw that the device was swaying slightly, as if something had hit it…
"YOUR MASTER PLAN ENDS NOW BOWSER!"
I mentally let out a gasp as Father's voice sounded. He seemed to have somehow broken free of the Knockout Gas's aftereffects, and suddenly bolted towards the device a regular sized egg in his hand. I heard a growl escape Bowser's throat, before he suddenly cast an cruel smile at me.
"I think it's time we gave Daddy something else to think about!" He whispered, his voice holding a sadistic tone.
"I would be MINDFUL of your NEXT MOVE YOSHI!"
I saw Father's back arch as Bowser bellowed at him threateningly. Turning his head to face Bowser, Father's smirk suddenly turned to a look of horror. I heard Mother let out a whimpered gasp. Both of them panicked to see me standing restrained next to Bowser. I suddenly felt my blood run cold as the Hammer Bro restraining me suddenly took the sharp edge of his hammer and placed it against my throat.
"SHELLY!"
I felt a whimper escape my throat as both my parents cried out terrified. A cruel smile spread across Bowser's face.
"One wrong move Yoshi and you may just lose your REASON for coming here!" He laughed mockingly, suddenly taking his massive hand and grabbing my face, turning it towards my parents while squeezing it tauntingly. I struggled to pull away however a chilling laugh caused me to freeze in terror. Unable to move my face, I moved my eyes looking to the side. I felt sheer terror take me over as Kamek stood just inches from me. I felt Bowser squeeze my face again, causing me to look back at my parents. I struggled to hide my fear from my parents, however I suddenly felt Kamek grasped my right shoulder with his hand and instantly terror had completely taken over.
"Its your choice Yoshi!" Kamek suddenly cackled, casting a cruel smirk at me before giving his attention to Father. "Which do you find most important? Destroying the machine...Or the life of your precious daughter!" My body tightened again as Kamek suddenly began poking my face tauntingly.
"S-STOP IT KAMEK!"
Father suddenly shouted desperately. His entire body was shaking not only from fury, but fear as well. Both Kamek and Bowser jeered at both him and Mother.
"You're forgetting who has the upper hand here!" Bowser chuckled, nodding at the Hammer Bro causing him to squeeze his arm tightly around my neck. I felt my chest ache as my airway felt crushed beneath the Hammer Bro's arm. I saw Father's eyes twitch in fear, completely lost at what he should do. I suddenly flinched as Kamek unexpectedly rose his scepter, instinctively I winced expecting him to attack me.
"DON'T EVEN TRY IT!"
Not feeling a brunt of pain I slowly opened my eyes in a squint. I saw that Kamek was pointing his scepter not at me, but at Mother. She stood frozen in place, her face desperate.
"Don't think we're not watching you Birdo!" Kamek spoke warning. "You better stay where you are!" I stared at Mother, I noticed that she was a few extra feet from Father than she had originally been. That's when it hit me…She had tried to slip away, while Bowser and Kamek were talking, to attack them from behind. Mother despite her fear, glared dangerously at Kamek before settling her attention on me. Her eyes were completely petrified, seeing me in the clutches of our enemies once again. Bowser let out a chuckle as he stared at Father before looking at Mother.
"Heh funny what a bit of motivation can do to change a person's attitude!" Bowser laughed, once again taking my face and squeezing it tauntingly. I felt my cheeks quiver from under his hand, mortified that I was being used as Bowser and Kamek's leverage to keep my parents in line.
"You're despicable!" Mother suddenly choked, her eyes teary and filled with utmost hate.
"WATCH IT!" Bowser growled, as he pointed his finger at Mother threateningly.
"SHE'S RIGHT! YOU DESPICABLE TYRANT!" Queen Daisy suddenly shouted.
"THE CHILDREN HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING TO YOU!" Queen Peach cried, immediately after Queen Daisy.
"YOU'RE TAKING OUT YOUR ANGER ON THE INNOCENT!" King Luigi snapped, King Mario nodded at King Luigi before locking eyes with Bowser.
"YOU'RE BEYOND DESPICABLE! INSTEAD OF CONFRONTING US, THE ONES YOU HATE SO MUCH, YOU INSTEAD TAKE YOUR FRUSTRATION OUT ON CHILDREN! YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A COWARD!"
"SILENCE!"
Bowser's bellow rang in the room, everything fell silent.
"In case you haven't noticed I have ALL of your children in my possession again!" Bowser snarled threateningly. I couldn't help but let out a whimper as pain erupted in my face, as Bowser increased his grip on my face. "So I suggest you WATCH yourselves! Especially YOU TWO!" Bowser's attention bolted back towards my parents. Kamek cackled, the insane happiness in his voice obvious.
"Yes….ONE wrong step…..One wrong WORD and your precious brat's blood is OURS!" With those words Kamek gave a nod at the Hammer Bro, he nodded and smirked in response. I involuntarily let out a strangled whimper as the Hammer Bro pressed his hammer into the side of my neck, a small amount of blood ran.
"S-STOP IT!" Both my parents choked, their faces white as chalk. However they didn't move an inch out of fear. Bowser, Kamek and even the Hammer Bro laughed.
"That's right your precious daughter's life is in our hands now!" Kamek cackled once more. "Don't forget we've already taken what we needed from her…" Kamek grinned insanely. "She lost her value to us weeks ago…" Kamek's eyes locked with Father's. "So she's completely expendable at this point!" At this point there was nothing but complete silence. All eyes were fixed on the Hammer Bro and me…Even Ilario, Angela and Azalea stared with complete panic. I looked at my parents, their eyes locking with mine. Despite my efforts I couldn't hide the terror and sadness I felt, my eyes told them everything. Mother and Father's eyes showed complete terror, having no idea on what they should do. I squeezed my eyes shut, I couldn't look anymore. My parents were at the mercy of Bowser…And there was nothing I could do to help them. Eventually the dead silence was broken by a cough from Bowser, his attention was still on my parents.
"Speaking of precious…." Bowser spoke, the smirk on his face growing. "I think I owe the 6 of you 20 long years of long postponed revenge!" Bowser scanned the room, looking at each of the royalty. His eyes locked with King Mario's a grim smile spread across his face, before finally turning to my parents again. "Lets see how you fair against the power from your precious daughter and mine!" Without any orders, Kamek pointed his scepter at the glowing container. Almost immediately the container grew brighter and with it, so did Kamek's scepter.
"Prepare for your DOOM!" Kamek cackled as he quickly pointed his scepter at Bowser. Words couldn't describe the terror that overtook every inch of my body, as a large shadow engulfed the room. If I hadn't been so securely restrained, my entire body would have cringed and trembled at the sight. I heard the Hammer Bro restraining me chuckle as he stared at me before looking up at the sight before us. Despite my fear I took my eyes off the sight to look around. I had never seen King Mario so scared before, although it was obvious he was trying to conceal it. Queen Peach, King Luigi and Queen Daisy stared, their eyes shrunken in complete terror. Finally my eyes moved onto my parents. Mother's left hand was placed over her chest, she made no effort to hide her terror. Father stood glued in his position, his entire body trembling slightly, his petrified eyes staring up at the menacing monster that now towered over us.
"BWA HA HA HA! NOW THE REAL BATTLE TRULY BEGINS!"
While it may have started with Yoshi having the upper hand…It unfortunately looks like the tables have turned on the heroes….Poor Shelly once again in the clutches of Kamek and Bowser…But this time with no real reason to keep her alive…Except to keep Yoshi and Birdo (and quite possibly Mario, Luigi, Peach and Daisy) under control…And to make things worse Bowser has decided to live by his word and repay his 20 year long due revenge…
Just a few quick notes… I decided to bring the "Green Donkey" taunt back…Kamek and Bowser simply inserted "Green Donkey DADDY" as a taunt not only towards Yoshi…But to Shelly as well…
Secondly some of you may remember back in Chapter 28 Yoshi willingly forced himself to stop using his tongue and Flutter Jump…For Shelly's sake…While many (if not all) the inhabitants of Yoshi's Island (or just the Yoshi species as a whole) respect Yoshi…Its no denying that some of them didn't exactly approve of Yoshi's choice to stop using natural instincts, even if it was for a "good" reason…Granted they didn't mock him…But while they didn't express their "displeasure" vocally, Yoshi isn't naïve he could certainly see that disapproval…And Shelly knew this…Even as an infant she could sense the disapproving eyes. So having Kamek call Yoshi out on it and openly mocking Shelly in the process certainly caused something in Yoshi to snap….(Yeah it looks like things are a LOT more serious than before...I think I'll just say heads up for the rest of the story...Dark Moments may or may not continue popping up.)
It's been quite a ride, but it looks like finally our heroes are at the final battle, not only for their children…But quite possibly the entire world…
