Hi everyone its great to be back, sorry again for the lag... ^^; Last time we had Yoshi and Kamek duking it out, with Yoshi obviously having the upper hand...However after some underhanded tactics by Kamek it looks like Yoshi and the others are at the mercy of King Bowser...Not only is Shelly's life on the line now...But Ilario, Angela and Azalea's...And now Bowser's ready to unleash his 20 years of revenge on the heroes...Chapter COMMENCE!
There was nothing but silence as everyone, including Kamek, the Hammer Bro and my friends stared at where Bowser had originally stood. Only now a massive figure more than double his original size engulfed the room, a dark aura illuminating off of him.
"Nothing to say?"
Bowser's chuckle rumbled, the entire room shaking. Still nobody responded, causing a dark grin to spread across Bowser's face.
"I didn't think so!"
Without warning Bowser's hand suddenly swung towards King Mario and the other 3 Royals. All 4 of them barely having time to react as they jumped out of the way. I involuntarily let out a squeak of fear as one of Bowser's large feet almost crushed me and the Hammer Bro holding me. I heard the Hammer Bro let out a grunt as he heaved me backwards, his face obviously tense from almost being stomped on by his own boss. I suddenly heard a chilling cackle.
"I think its time to block off the restricted areas!"
Kamek suddenly hovered above Bowser's head. I heard a chuckle from behind me, as I felt my feet leave the ground.
"Over here Missy!" The Hammer Bro snapped as he heaved me backwards again. I let out a strangled whimper as I tried to resist, however the Hammer Bro simply tightened his arm around my neck. Despite the ache in my chest I continued to resist, as he dragged me I noticed that he was leading me towards Ilario, Angela and Azalea. I suddenly felt my heart stop as without warning the Hammer Bro suddenly took his hammer out and pressed the side of it against my face. "Continue pressing my buttons you little brat!" He suddenly whispered threateningly, wrapping his arm even more tightly around my neck. I immediately stopped struggling, earning a smirk from the Hammer Bro. "That's better…" He spoke smugly. "Now you better behave…." He whispered, the danger in his voice returning. "Cuz next time I won't be holding back…." I felt a chill run down my spine. "And I'll get to sit back and watch Mommy and Daddy cry as you choke your last breath…" I felt my body tighten as I felt the Hammer Bro's breath down my neck. Before the Hammer Bro could say anything else a loud cackle from Kamek broke the tense silence. Smirking maliciously at my parents Kamek raised his arm up. With a quick wave of his scepter a large force field suddenly appeared, I flinched as the field engulfed the entire area around the device, my friends, my captor and I. Kamek sneered at King Mario before turning his attention to my parents.
"Can't have attacks mindlessly hitting the merchandise!" Kamek cackled again, his attention directly at the device. Despite the terror they obviously felt, I saw anger grow on Father and King Mario's faces.
"WONDERFUL KAMEK!"
Bowser's voice rumbled again, causing everyone except for Kamek and the Hammer Bro to flinch.
"NOW YOU PITIFUL INSECTS…..GIVE ME YOUR BEST SHOT! BWA HA HA HA!"
Within seconds cries rang all throughout the room, my parents and the 4 Royals scrambling to escape the barrage of giant fire balls Bowser suddenly sent their way. Bowser didn't waste any time as he suddenly began to generate a dark red energy in his hands.
"BETTER STAY ON YOUR TOES!"
Bowser shouted, insane laughter in his voice. He suddenly thrust his fists into the ground creating numerous shockwaves that affected the entire room, except the perimeter of the force field. I watched as the shockwaves destroyed the floor, however my shock was immediately turned into terror as a familiar voice caught my attention.
"BWA HA HA HA! LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE OUT BIRDO!"
I quickly turned my head, a whimper immediately escaping my throat. Mother laid on the ground, obviously knocked over by one of the previous shockwaves. Giving a murderous grin Bowser lifted his hand up, generating another ball of energy. Without a single word Bowser thrust the attack at Mother. I saw the look of pure terror fill Mother's eyes as she struggled to stand. However she would be unable to move out of the way in time. I felt tears sting in my eyes, as I bit my lip, I opened my mouth to cry out to her…
"NO!"
I felt my heart stop as a familiar voice echoed in the room. I suddenly saw Father running towards Mother as fast as he could, I didn't see anger in his eyes only terror filled his eyes now. At that moment I squeezed my eyes shut, fear momentarily taking control of my body.
"NOW!"
I felt my body flinch as King Mario's voice suddenly sounded, his voice angry but also held a hint of fear. Without warning a loud explosion sounded, instantly I began to sob.
"M-Mama…D-Daddy…N-no…."
I silently cried in my head, I had just gotten to see them again…A long silence ensued, confusion slightly plaguing me, I had expected to hear Bowser's triumphant laugh, however there was nothing. Despite my fear I forced myself to open my eyes, I felt warm tears run down my face. I quickly scanned the room, my eyes squinted as smoke clouded the room. Seeing nothing I suddenly hung my head in defeat, my eyes were glossy as I refused to blink. I continued to stare in the direction my parents had stood. The smoke slowly began to clear, I readied myself for the sight I was dreading. My legs trembled severely, tears continued to roll down my soaked cheeks. I suddenly had to hold back a sob as two figures came into sight. I gulped, as I stared disbelieving. Both my parents stood side by side, Father's right arm was wrapped around Mother's shoulder, his other arm was extended out in front of him. Mother's right arm was extended out just like Father's.
"IMPOSSIBLE!"
Bowser's voice suddenly sounded, he looked furious as he stared at my parents. Both Mother and Father tightened their embrace and continued to stand firmly. The sound of footsteps suddenly caught my attention. King Mario, Queen Peach, King Luigi and Queen Daisy suddenly came into view. All 4 of them glared coldly at Bowser.
"You don't mess with family Bowser!" King Mario snarled, his entire body was engulfed by a red light.
"We'll fight with every last bit of our strength before we let you take any of our family from us!" Queen Daisy hissed through clenched teeth, her body illuminated by a yellowish orange light. Queen Peach glanced at King Mario, while King Luigi glanced at Queen Daisy, before the both of them turned back to glare at Bowser. Queen Peach's body was illuminated by a bright pink light, while King Luigi's was illuminated by a green light.
"I see….You all combined your energy into one, to eliminate King Bowser's attack…" Kamek suddenly hissed as he hovered next to Bowser's shoulder.
"That's right Kamek!" I let out a soft whimper as Father's voice sounded. "Bowser may be more powerful than 20 years ago…." Father started, he glanced at Mother before pressing his face against hers in a protective and affectionate manner. "But so are we!" Mother responded with a nod, as her body suddenly began to glow.
"THINK what you will!"
Bowser snarled angrily, smoke fuming from his nose.
"But don't think we're done yet!"
Kamek nodded at Bowser's comment, before turning towards my parents.
"Hope you enjoyed your temporary get out of Underwhere free card because you ALL are DIE NOW!" Kamek pointed his scepter at the glowing container, I felt fear and urgency engulf me as the strength of light grew weaker. Kamek suddenly cast a smirk at me. "You can thank your precious whelp for this!" He cackled at Father and Mother, as his scepter grew brighter. "Her gift is going to be your DOWNFALL!" Without another word Kamek pointed his scepter at Bowser, instantly Bowser's body grew even larger, his head almost touching the ceiling. Bowser laughed as the dark red energy illuminating off of his hands grew brighter.
"AGAIN!"
King Mario suddenly shouted as he instantly threw a ball of energy towards Bowser, Father, Mother, Queen Peach, King Luigi and Queen Daisy quickly followed suit. All 6 attacks hit Bowser's arm, gasps suddenly filled the room. I felt my mouth hang open, Bowser stared back at my parents and the 4 Royals, at first he stared at them blankly however slowly a smirk spread across his face.
"Ow…..Was that all?"
Everyone's faces were completely dumbfounded, however almost instantly King Mario attacked again, my parents and the remaining 3 Royals immediately following.
"OH PLEASE!"
Bowser suddenly extended his arm out and crushed the attacks with his hand.
"It looks like the 5 of you have used up the majority of your newfound powers too!" Kamek mocked, shaking his scepter at Mother and the 4 Royals
"I TOLD you this isn't going to end like it did 20 years ago!"
Bowser laughed, smiling at my parents and the 4 Royals. He suddenly swung his fist at my parents.
"I'm finally…
I gasped as both my parents were knocked over by Bowser's attack.
….going to….
Bowser quickly swung his arm back towards the 4 Royals.
…put you all…
I heard Ilairo, Angela and Azalea cry out as their parents were knocked over.
….IN YOUR PLACE!"
Bowser suddenly took his hand and reached for King Mario and King Luigi. They both jumped out of the way, Queen Peach and Queen Daisy tried to follow after them, however Bowser suddenly used his other hand to block them. Quickly turning his attention to King Luigi, Bowser slammed his hand into the floor between King Mario and King Luigi. I heard King Luigi cry out in fear as he ran towards my parents. I felt my heart stop as a dark smile spread across Bowser's face. Lifting his free hand Bowser reached for Mother, Father immediately retaliated by placing himself in front of her. However Bowser merely chuckled and thrust his hand downward, I heard both my parents whimper as Bowser's hand separated them. Almost immediately Bowser used the back of his hand to push Mother out of the way. I heard Father shout Mother's name. Mother, Queen Peach and Queen Daisy ran towards Father, King Mario and King Luigi. Bowser instantly blew fire at them, forcing them to run in the opposite direction, almost as if herding them…
"Sorry ladies, your presence is not necessary!" Kamek cackled, pointing his scepter at Mother, Queen Peach and Queen Daisy. An insane smirk suddenly grew on Bowser's face as he stared down at Father, King Mario and King Luigi. Without warning Bowser suddenly lashed his hands out. I heard Mother, Queen Peach, Queen Daisy, Ilario, Angela and Azalea cry out as Bowser held his hands up. I felt a whimper escape my throat as clenched in Bowser's left hand was Father and King Luigi, both of them gasping for breath and wriggling, desperate to free themselves from Bowser's steel grip. Bowser simply responded by squeezing his hand tighter, causing both Father and King Luigi to wince and clench their teeth in pain. A sadistic smile spread across Bowser's face as he stared at Father and King Luigi before slowly turning towards his right hand, which clenched King Mario. I saw an eerie insane look of satisfaction glint in Bowser's eyes as he stared at King Mario. I swear I saw his eyes move towards Queen Peach for a moment before a dark cruel smile spread across his face, without hesitation Bowser clenched his hand even tighter, King Mario let out a grunt of pain.
"THAT'S IT PLUMBER, WRITHE IN PAIN!"
Bowser's insane laugh echoed in the room, I heard Ilario and Angela whimper which in turn caused me to tremble in fear. Bowser continued to sneer at King Mario, who continued to struggle to free himself. Despite the obvious enjoyment he was getting from watching King Mario, Bowser suddenly turned his attention to my Mother, Queen Peach and Queen Daisy.
"WHO IS THE VICTOR NOW?!"
Bowser shouted, mockery in his voice.
"YOUR KNIGHTS IN SHINING ARMOR ARE MINE!"
Immediately Bowser turned his body towards Mother and the 2 queens, smiling cruelly at them, particularly at Queen Peach, Bowser clenched his fists even tighter. I felt fear pulse down my spine as I heard not only King Luigi and King Mario, but Father suddenly gasp for breath.
"YOSHI!"
"MARIO!"
"LUIGI!"
Ilario, Angela, Azalea, and I simultaneously whimpered as we heard our mothers cry out for our fathers. I couldn't watch, this was beyond torture… I knew Bowser despised King Mario, King Luigi and Father…And I knew Bowser was a power-hungry tyrant…But now…He had transformed into a straight-out sadist! Bowser suddenly laughed as Mother, Queen Peach and Queen Daisy attempted to attack him again, however to their and even mine, Ilario, Angela and Azalea's dismay the attacks did nothing.
"Just accept the facts ladies…Your heroes have LOST!" Kamek suddenly taunted as he hovered next to Bowser's shoulder, smirking happily at Father, King Mario and King Luigi. A rumbling laughter suddenly broke the depressing silence.
"YOU FOOLS….
Bowser's attention was now on Father, King Mario and King Luigi.
…Thinking you could beat ME!
Bowser's sadistic smile spread across his face again.
…*chuckle* You may have won many battles…
I felt my body shiver as the room suddenly got cold and darker. Bowser brought his hands closer to his face so that Father, King Mario and King Luigi were right next to his face.
But I am about to win the 1 and only WAR!"
Father, King Mario and King Luigi winced in pain, but their faces also seemed to be twisted in anger. I looked towards Mother, her eyes gleamed with tears, her entire body trembled uncontrollably as she stared at Father. Queen Peach's face was soaked with tears, I had never seen such terror on a person's face before….What hit home though was Queen Daisy, my parents have always been exceedingly strong, however even as a little kid I had always seen Queen Daisy as the strongest woman I had ever met in my life…Not once in my entire life had I seen her shed tears…But now…I'm seeing what I never thought I'd ever see…
Tears…..
I felt my heart ache with so much pain, if hearts could literally break…Mine would have definitely done so…
A familiar rumbling sound suddenly caused me to look up.
"Now the 3 of you can watch as I extract the final ultimate powers from your sniveling brats!"
Whimpers from our mothers and groans from our fathers sounded as Bowser's attention fell upon, my friends and I. With a simple nod, Kamek immediately flew over to the device, holding his scepter high in the air. Instantly Kamek's scepter began generate a large ball of energy, deja vu immediately took me over. I shook my head, this couldn't be happening… Finally Kamek had finished charging the energy, he pointed his staff at the device. Bowser let out a sadistic laugh, it echoed throughout the room.
"PREPARE TO MEET YOUR FINAL RESTING PLACE!"
Quickly turning my head I saw the petrified looks on my best friends' faces, I heard a familiar rumbling sound, instantly I felt myself involuntarily look up. My eyes widened as I saw the familiar bright light illuminating above my friends. In an instant the horrifying events of that traumatizing day played through my mind. The Pain….The Fear….The Agony… Not even thinking about whether that Hammer Bro's hammer was still to my throat or not, I suddenly made a desperate struggle.
"NO!"
I screamed, persistent in my struggle to break free from the Hammer Bro's grip. I heard a familiar growl as I suddenly felt pain in my arms, the Hammer Bro struggling to keep his grip on me.
"I warned you!" I heard the Hammer Bro growl as he tugged roughly at my arms. However I continued to fight with all strength I had left in my body.
"I WON'T LET YOU TAKE THEM!"
I shouted, for that one moment my feelings of fear had completely left me, only fury filled my heart. I growled and tugged as hard as I could, they may have taken my "Essence of being" ….But I wasn't going to allow them to take my friends'.
"I'M NOT GONNA LET THEM SUFFER THE SAME FATE AS ME!"
With that one last thought I suddenly felt an intense power surge through my body. I heard multiple exclamations as a bright light suddenly engulfed the room. Opening my eyes in a squint I was shocked to see that the bright light was coming from the container. Immediately my heart began to race, I let out a gasp, taken aback by the sudden racing of my heart. Suddenly the glass container began to crack.
"WHAT'S THIS?"
I heard Bowser's voice bellow, it was a mixture of anger, but also held a hint of fear. Cracks in the container became larger, without warning I suddenly felt intense pressure in my chest. I let out a choke in pain, however the pain was quickly replaced with shock as suddenly my chest began to glow brightly. Immediately the glass container shattered, the light growing brighter now.
"KAMEK! WHAT'S GOING-"
Bowser's roar of anger was cut off as suddenly Ilario, Angela and Azalea's chests began to glow like mine, however unlike me they didn't appear to be in any pain. I heard King Mario, Queen Peach, King Luigi and Queen Daisy call out to my friends, however none of them were given a response. All 3 of my friends' faces appeared to be calm, the light in their chests suddenly grew even brighter than mine. The light that had been in the container suddenly changed color, I stared flabbergasted as the light was now an obvious hot pink color. Almost immediately the lights illuminating off of Ilario, Angela and Azalea's chests began to change color as well. Within an instant the red, purple and yellow lights left Ilario, Angela and Azalea's bodies and combined with the hot pink light. I let out a gasp of fear as Ilario, Angela and Azalea suddenly lost consciousness, the light no longer glowing in their chests. Before I had a chance to cry out to them my body was suddenly engulfed by the light, instantly I felt a great power rush through me. I heard the Hammer Bro cry out in pain, quickly looking over I saw that my body was glowing the 4 colors, I watched in astonishment as angel-like wings suddenly appeared on my back. I felt my body overtaken by an overwhelming power. Looking over I saw the complete shock on Bowser and Kamek's faces, a hint of fear gleamed in their eyes. I barely caught a glance of the Royals and my parents, awe on their faces, before I suddenly felt my consciousness slowly slipping away.
Well it looks like it didn't take long for things to fall into Bowser's favor...Yoshi and the others may have obtained a substantial amount of power before coming to the castle...But like Yoshi, it appears Birdo and the others used up most of theirs...
However something appears to have Kamek and Bowser (and even Yoshi and the others) in a state of shock...Some phenomenon has rendered Ilario, Angela and Azalea unconscious and has caused something to happen to Shelly...Will this work in Bower's (and Kamek's) favor...Or is it the miracle that Yoshi, Birdo and the others need? I'll see you all next chapter! (DANG Chapter 50! ^.^ We've come a long way! :) )
On a side note, I did put an Underwhere reference in there :) *Within a Monopoly reference no less XD * Super Paper Mario is certainly an intriguing game and adding a reference to the place where people of the Mushroom (Mario) world go when their Games end certainly seemed fitting.
I also put another little reference to something somewhere in this chapter...I would give a hint as to WHAT the reference comes from...But I feel it might give too much away...I'm curious to see if someone picks up on it. ^.^
