Chapter 5: Spying on the Date!
The school week was a long and gruesome one. Knowing that Honoka-chan is back in my life with Ayane being more and more troublesome means that a lot more stress is happening in my life. "You bastard!" Yep... It was this again. "Not only did you steal away Shizuka-chan away from us, but now the new transfer student!"
"It's the unthinkable!"
"What does an outcast like you have that we don't?!" All of them started to yell and scream at me... Did I forget to mention that this was in the middle of class? Yeah. All the girls were whispering, the teacher was too afraid, Ayane and Honoka-chan were standing there confused like all the rest.
I looked at all of the boys present in the area... "Shut up. You're freaking annoying." Was all I said before getting up. It was then that two grabbed my shoulders, trying to force me back in the desk... But two others stopped them. Ayane in her Shizuka disguise and Honoka-chan, broke their arms so that I was free from them. "Thanks." Was all I said before leaving the classroom.
"M-Mori-kun! Please we're in the middle of class!" The teacher said to me before stopping me... I held three fingers as a counter, with the last one going down the school bell sounded off and we headed out of the class. "Okay class! Please be ready for that test tomorrow!"
Lunch was what was happening right now. I headed to the only place where I can get some peace and quiet, and that was at the abandon club room. Sitting on the table with her legs cross was Ayane, out of the disguise and stared at me. I close the door behind me and a throwing knife hit the wall next to me. "What did I do wrong?" I see her holding another one inbetween her fingers.
"You look REAL happy to know that Honoka girl is in our class now...!"
"Are you jealous?"
"Ha!" The ninja just smirked and turned away with her arms crossed. "Why would I be jealous of a girl like her?!"
"Than what are you mad about?" Was all I said opening my bento, before taking out the chop sticks. "Honoka-chan is just her, just like how you are you..."
Ayane only got more mad before stabbing my bento... Again. She grabbed me by the collar and pulled me up to face her. "Do you know why I don't like her?! She reminds me of someone!" She answered. "Makes all the boys fall for her, tried to be 'Sweet' and 'Kind' to all, and the most disgusting of all...!" Her eye flared in anger... Those beautiful red eyes... "She's always accepted by everyone! And you're no better than all those horny school boys that want to fuck her!"
"Not really..." Was all I said before standing up. "When I was still kid, I was scared to accept people..." I started telling her. "When mom died, I just wanted to be alone. I feared that if I accept people, than I would lose them forever."
"What?" Her gripped tightend. "Tell me how I'm supposed to believe that?!"
"You're a prime time example." The words that came out of my mouth caused her to go into shock... Those fingers letting me go... "I'm not sure if I want to be close to you... Because I'm scared I'll lose you... And that goes for my brothers, my sister, Honoka-chan... Even Kokoro-senpai."
"Dumbass." Was all she said before letting me go. "Don't you get it? When a ninja is rescued or protected by an outsider, we stand by that person that we must protect... That means we'll die just for that person." She went to the windows, seeing all the people talking and chatting. "It's in our Clan's Code... The Mugen Tenshin, our Clan that puts honor, respect, discipline and pride first before all else." She turned around to face me again. "A part of me... Does wish that I was never part of the Mugen Tenshin..."
In front me was not just Ayane anymore, but someone who needed me... What was I suppose to do in this situation? Tell her that 'It's alright' to make her feel better? No... That never works here in the real world. Something in me just went wrapped the violet haired girl in my arms, holding her close. "Don't regret it... Because, I don't regret meeting you."
"You dumb... Perverted... Jerkface..." I let her go as we both heard the bell ring loudly, causing me to grab my bento and eat it on the way to class. "Why are you still eating?"
"Cause someone interrupted me." I gave her a glare before she looked away. "Anyway, let's just hope things go better than it should."
And it was. The teachers gaves us our assignments with some of them struggling to solve the problems. One of the people seemed to be two of them... Can you guess who? I sure can. My eyes turned to see... Literally steam coming from Ayane while Homoka-chan has a clicking sound everytime she moved her hand...
Yep. This was gonna be an exhausting day...
AYANE
THAT TEST SUCKED! I remember it being more bullshit then my last mission before... Well, I won't tell you just yet. "How the hell does this make any sense?" I whispered to myself. I'm very knowledgeable thank you, but everything on the test was just bullshit after bullshit. "A-Ayane-chan..." I looked to my left to see Honoka leaning back and her whole face was red! "I can't do it..." She tilted her head then opened her mouth with steam coming out... And her soul was escaping!
I raised up my hand. "Excuse me, Sir?" I got the teacher's attention. "I think Honoka here just over worked herself..."
"Is that so?" I nodded. "Alright, well than Miss Shizuka, please take Miss Honoka here to the nurse's office please." With a sigh of regret I grabbed the stupid pink haired girl by the collar and dragged her.
I exited the classroom while still dragging the dumb girl. When we finally entered the nurse's office I was told to put her on the bed so she could rest for a while but wanted me to stay with her in case if some "accidents" were to happen. Yeah right... They just wanted me there to torture me, but it was better than doing that goddamn test.
"Hey Ayane-chan?" I looked at her. "Thanks for taking me to the nurse."
"Whatever." Was all I said before the biggest question came up...
"Ayane-chan..."
"What?"
"Are you in love with someone?" A question that caught me so off guard that I'm ashamed to call myself a member of the Mugen Tenshen... "Ayane-chan?"
"S-Shut up! I'm not in love with anyone!" Was all I could answer. "Why do you ask?!"
I regretted asking that... I really did. "I wanted me and Itsuki-kun could go on a date later today."
Every part of my body just broke into a thousand pieces from just that sentence. When I remember this memory, it pains me for what happens in the future. This day made me figure out my identity and the way on how I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Until then, I got easily annoyed by the sudden question. "L-Like I care about some dumb date! And another thing," I stood up from my chair. "It's Shizuka in public! Not Ayane! She-Zoo-Kah!" My legs guided me out of the nurse's room.
The statement haunted me over and over again. Never did anything like that ever happened to me...
When School was over, I jumped from building to building in my normal clothes. That school uniform makes me feel opened and unwilling to protect myself. I hate it. "Dumb girl..." I grumbled... It still gave me a migrane in my head that got me angry that I was rolling around on the rooftop, until...
"Ayane." I stopped and looked at who was above me. "What are you doing?"
"M-Master Hayate?!" I stood right up to see he had an entertained smile on his face! I almost died of embarassment! "Is there a mission?!"
"Yes, and I wanted to check on you." He walked by, standing on the edge of the roof top to see the people down below. "Oh, it's that boy again." My hair stood up as I knew about who he was talking about. "What's he doing with that pink haired girl?"
"A date." I pouted. "Or something stupid like that." He gave the face of interest... There were two people in the world that no one knew what they were doing. Master Hayate and Master Ryu... "Anyway, Ayane let's go!"
"Sir!" We both jumped from the buildings of the city. "Where is Master Ryu?"
We made another jump before heading to the location... Seeing Master Ryu with that Irene Lew woman. Her silver blonde short hair and her skimpy uniform gave off she wasn't from around here. We both know the aura around those two. "You made it." Master Ryu leaned on the wall with Irene on a small portable computer that had an ear piece attached to it.
"So, what's this about?" Master Hayate asked her.
"We got information from an undercover agent that surviving people of MIST is here."
"MIST?!" I was shocked to learn that. "I thought we got rid of them all!"
"Apparently not." Master Ryu interrupting. "The Weapon Research lab was part of DOATECH... And we have no clue where Donovan is."
"And that Rig guy too." Irene tab on the keys to show us some files. "After you guys turned the lab into a firework show, we got footage of Rig working with what seems to be MIST's very own kind of Ninja's..."
Images showed what looked to be MIST's very own ninja... Yep. I feel like I'm in a Spy Movie sometimes. "That info said somewhere here is someone that is part of MIST." We all agreed and went our different ways. Ryu went with that Irene and Master Hayate vanished. Me? I went to spy... Ever since I lived with Itsuki, I did nothing but just sit in the that boring old classroom for a good 3 years until we graduated.
I don't regret meeting him... I don't regret that he came into my life... But, I do regret spying on them.
ITSUKI
When the whole day was done, Ayane disappeared from the class. God only knew why, but it was whatever. Before I left I went to check on Honoka-chan who was still in the Nurse's office from eariler that day. "Honoka-chan?" I opened the door and didn't hear anyone answer me... Until I saw her napping on the bed while hugging the pillow tightly. "Seriously?" Was all I could say when I walked towards the sleeping girl who just dreamed away without a care in the world. I grabbed her nose to stop her breathing until she woke up in a panic.
"H-Huh?!" She sat up with a uniform looking slobby. "You Meanie!" She punched very hard that it caused me to take two steps back. "I was having a good dream too!"
"Well guess what Sleeping Beauty," I began to talk. "Class is over. Let's head home." I said while walking to the door while hearing her body move off the bed. "You also have some drool on you."
"I do?!" I turned back to see her wiping her mouth...
"No." I answered seeing her getting a pouty face again. "Now come on... I want to go home."
Everything was fine as usual, but I still didn't know where Ayane was that day. "Hey, Itsuki-kun."
"Yeah?" I turned around to see her blushing, fidgetting aswell.
"D-Do you want to go a d-d-date?" A question that any guy would be happy about, a question could stop your heart there on the spot but for me... I just smiled.
"Why not?" She smiled brightly at me. "We can start... Now." Her face changed into a panic. "Come on, I know a Diner near by."
We continued walking on the sidewalk with no hassle until we reached the place. We entered the place and saw that there weren't a lot of people. We took a seat by the window with the waitress giving us the menus. "So this is where you eat, huh?"
"You complaining?"
"No." She answered with a giggle as a waitress came by. When I got a good look at her face, it was that Hitomi girl!
"Hello, welcome and thank you for choosing us this evening." She smiled professionally. "What can I get for you?"
"I'll have a mocha latte, please." Honoka-chan answered.
"Coke."
"Coming right up~!"
My eyes saw her skate away into the kitchen as she left us right there on the spot... Why is that Hitomi girl here? Is she trying to get into college or something?
"Geez~! Itsuki-kun, would you stop ogling at her?!" She pouted in a cute moe-like way, where her cheeks were puffed out. "There's a woman in front of you, remember?"
"Oh? Where's the woman?" I asked looking around the place. "I only see you."
"Oh, you jerk!" She laughed at that... My heart started to pulse rapidly, with my hands getting sweaty. I was so nervous to just sit with her, look at her, even hear her. "Itsuki-kun," I felt her hand being placed on top of mine... "I'm happy! I'm so happy to catch up with you!"
"Yeah. Me too." Honesty was in my words, but at that time... I was unsure of myself. Did I want her back? Did I seriously want Honoka-chan, the girl I loved back? My mind was spiraling just from the questions, then it really hit me... Honoka-chan leaned in, and kissed me on the cheek...
AYANE
Like I said... I regret spying on them. My fist were clenched tightly... I was so close to crying at the image that I saw from the rooftop. "Ayane?" Her... I turned around to see... 'Her' again. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing! Just go away, Kasumi!" I shouted before running away. Why was I acting like that? Nothing made sense to me at all anymore... I shouldn't be sad about this! But I was! I stopped for a moment... Feeling tears drop from my face. "D-Dammit! Why am I sad?!"
It was at this point... Where I started to cry on top of the building... Isolated by everyone...
When 4 hours passed by, I was just walking through the city... It was dark, the people were very depressing to look at. My ears heard many things from the people.
"Hey, baby... Wanna party?" Smug perverts that were drinking... Arguing and fights breaking out.
Was I lost? Yeah... I was. Because I didn't want to go back to the bar at all. "Oh, is that you? Shizuka-san?" That when I saw Mino Katsuragi standing there by a limo. "Why are you out here? It's dangerous." That's right... I'm in my 'Shizuka' disguise so that I wouldn't get caught being called Ayane.
"I can take care of myself thank you." I told him, but was stopped when he grabbed my hand.
"Please, let me take you out to dinner." I was an idiot... Because I accepted it. Now THAT was a regret. "I'll take you to the best place in town." We went inside the limo, seeing that it was what inside a limo should be like. Itsuki, I'm so sorry that I accepted to that...
