Belle's P.O.V.
Finally we reached the motel. Honestly, I haven't got a problem with the boys coming to the bar with us, so long as they leave me to my game. I got out of the impala and Em followed me.
Em pulled me to the side - "Belle chill out a bit. I know it's different now that we're not on our own, but you need to calm down."
"In going to ignore that you just told me that I'm some psychopathic woman and chill out."
"I'm not saying you're psychopathic woman, I'm saying..."
" I know what you're saying, don't worry. I'll cool it. " Em blushed, and breathed a sigh of relief.
Sam and Dean were at their room now. Em and I jogged over to our door and Em dug the keys to the room out of her never-ending backpack.
"Right. You go get a shower. Not saying you smell but I need to do your hair and so it has to be wet" I told Em.
" No! I'm fine like this!"
" Go!" Em put her book down and walked off in a mock tantrum.
" Fine! " She shouted.
I heard the shower turn on and Em's voice floated through the bathroom door. She was singing 'Welcome to the Black Parade' by My chemical romance. It's been a long time since I've heard Em sing. She only did it when she was extremely happy and didn't care if anyone was listening.
"Hurry up in there Gerard! " I laughed. I heard Em laugh and in response, she sung louder. I dug into my bag and pulled out all the things I'd need. Mascara, glitter black eyeliner, hairbrush, red lipstick and a hell of a lot of hair grips.
I set them up in an orderly manner... Or orderly for my standards and scrolled through my crappy phone.
After about 10 minutes the door to the bathroom opened and steam flooded the room. Em was dressed in her pyjamas.
"Why are you in your pj's?" I looked at her as I waited for her answer.
"I don't want to ruin what m going out in and also the clothes that I'm going to where tonight is the second to last clean outfit I have."
" What are you wearing?" I questioned. "And do you have other shoes? The ones you were wearing earlier are covered in mud and father knows what."
"Well considering that the only clothes I have left are either a cute navy jumper and black skinny jeans or blue skinny jeans and a hoodie, I'm going with the jumper." As she said that she brought out each of the clothing items and laid them on her bed.
"It'll do, for now. " I sighed.
" Why, what did you bring?"
"Black mini skirt with black leggings and a red tank top with, of course, my signature black jacket on the top."
Em smiled "Very glam!"
"Right, sit on that chair and stay still, I have to do your hair."
Em sat down in front of the mirror and I got to work on her hair. I brushed the ebony strands and started to clip them up in a neat formation.
"Ow! Be gentle you thug!" Em giggled. "Sorry! So have you tried out the mind thing on a Winchester yet?" I asked, continuing to clip her hair.
"Mind thing?"
"The thought reading."
"No. Why would I?" Em furrowed her eyebrows at me.
" No reason. I was just wondering." I went back to working on her hair.
Quickly I read her mind.
" No, belle. Not as if I heard dean thinking he could be a male model or anything " I snorted a laugh.
" What?" Em asked.
" Male model?! Green eyes? Who does he think he is? Billie Joe Armstrong? "
Em giggled " Hey, get out of my head and finish my hair!"
I plaited her fringe into a french plait and pinned it firmly in place. I then pulled the rest of her hair to the side and made it into a bun.
"There! You look beautiful. Close your eyes, I've got to do your make up." I finished my sentence quickly hoping she wouldn't hear it.
" Make up? Belle, I can do that."
" Please! Just let me!"
"No! You always go overboard!" Em crossed her arms over her chest as a stubborn look transformed her facial features.
"Em! Let me do this for once. Please!"
" Fine. Just this once." She closed her eyes and I went to work. Mascara, eyeliner, concealer and just a dab of pale lipstick.
Em huffed as I applied all of the makeup. Makeup wasn't something that Em was all that interested in. That's why I decided to give her a subtle look where as me... I'm going full out- red lips, high heels, leather jacket. The whole shebang! You gotta impress before you rob someone blind. In my opinion, people should actually get good at what they do before they challenge me.
" Open your eyes. Cinderella you shall go to the ball!"
Em opened her eyes and stared into the mirror. " Wow. Belle. I look..."
"Stunning?"
" Yeah! Thank you!"
"It's no problem! Let me do your make up more often!" I laughed. Em smiled before walking over to the bed and sitting down.
She picked up her Harry Potter book and began to read. Time to get myself ready!
I opened the small, black makeup bag again and pulled out a bright red lipstick.
I smoothed the lipstick across my lips and reached for my mascara. The pillar box red lipstick contrasted my pale face and the thick, black mascara improved my eyes. I dragged on some jet black eyeliner on the top of my eyelids creating a wing. I blinked a few times to make sure the liquid had dried.
I pulled my hair down around my shoulders and clicked my fingers, using what little angel powers I have to replenish the red dip dye in my hair.
From her bed Em glanced up as she was reading. I smiled at her through the murky vanity mirror and returned back to what I was doing. I clipped my fringe up on either side so it wouldn't get in my face and went to change in the bathroom. After dressing in my, you've got to admit, bad ass outfit I searched for my cherry red doc Martin's.
" Right then, you ready?" I asked Em.
" I think so, wait, have you got any money?" I held up my hand to reveal $100.
" Where did you get that?!"
" You really think I'd leave heaven without any funds? Oh and check your pocket " Em reached into her pocket whilst I pulled on my doc Martins.
" Wow Belle, thanks!" She smiled, looking down at her $100.
" But remember, I may need it for gambling. And under no circumstances do you tell the Winchesters. They'll think we're loaded or something. "
"Why would I tell the Winchester's?" Em looked at me as if i was stupid for doubting her.
"Well... Em... You have a tendency to blurt out the first thing that comes to mind when you get nervous and...
"Belle. I DO NOT, THANK YOU KINDLY!" Em said loudly and defensively.
"Let's just say Danny and leave it at that."
Em stared at me in horror as she turned bright red for saying his name.
"Are you coming then?" I asked as I walked to the door and opened it. Em was still standing there in shock as I walked out of the door.
I heard Em slam the door behind herself. So far my plan was working. If we can walk out of the carpark and up the road without the Winchesters, then they won't notice we've gone and if they do, it'll be too late.
" Get a move on Emmy" I muttered and I heard her speed up behind me.
" Belle..."
" Yeah?" I turned around to look at her and continued walking backwards. A look of horror appeared on her face. I walked into something taller than me and her expression worsened.
" Going somewhere sweetheart? " a gruff voice asked, dripping with sarcasm. " Because you know, we we're supposed to keep an eye on you both and if you're going anywhere, we're coming too" it continued. Dammit, caught red handed sneaking off.
Em smiled apologetically at Dean who was now flanked by Sam. Sam smiled at Em which caused her to look down, embarrassed.
"I'm sorry about us barging in and crashing your night out, but Cas said that we've got to watch you guys - to make sure nothing bad happens to you." Sam looked uncomfortable as he said this.
"When Cas said you need to watch us, it doesn't mean all the time!" I was starting to get angry. Why should they have to come with us? Just because stupid Cas is overprotective!
"Don't make me get your brother young lady, and besides, I'll buy the first round " Dean grinned. You know what, fine. I'll go with it. As long as I win a few games tonight, me and Em will have enough money to survive which will show Cas how independent we are.
" In that case, mine's a whiskey " I smiled. Dean held open the passenger seat door to the impala and I got in.
" Hey that's my seat!" I heard Sam protest. " Well sit in the back for now, jeez " Dean told him.
The car journey was uneventful as we made our way to the local bar which was called 'The hound and horse'. When we pulled up I jumped out of the impala and whirled around to wait for Em as she opened her door. I walked to her and pulled her out of the car - if we don't get in there fast enough we'll be stuck with the arrogant pig and the lost puppy dog.
"Hey hold on. Wait for us!" Dean yelled as I set off at a run pulling Em along behind me.
"Slow down Belle! You're going to pull my arm off! I quite like having all my limbs intact if you didn't know!" Em complained.
" I'll buy you a new one as soon as I win a few drunk's beer funds. I've got a good feeling about tonight Em, I'm telling you!" I saw a small smile play on Em's face.
" Good luck Belle."
" Luck had nothing to do with it trust me." I pushed open the bar door revealing a lot of drunk guys laughing and sitting around. A few were playing pool in the corner.
Em nervously glanced at me as she took in the crowd of people that were pushing and shoving around the bar.
"Do you want a drink?" Em asked timidly as she eyed the bar, fear evident in her blue eyes.
"I thought Dean was buying?" I asked her in confusion.
"I feel bad for making him spend money when we have $200 between us." Em almost whispered.
"I'm fine thanks... I'll wait for Dean. You should too. We need to money anyway."
"Okay."
Dean appeared to my left wearing a smug smirk on his face " Okay, what'll it be? " he asked us.
" A whiskey thanks green eyes." I replied.
" Erm, a coke thank you." Em muttered. "And I'll take a beer Dean." Sam smiled.
" I'll be right back, you guys sit over there." Dean nodded to a table and I could of swore he winked at me. Cheeky git! And anyway, I need to get money so I'll leave the sitting around a table and awkward conversation to Em, Sam and Mr. Perfect.
I fought my way through the crowd of sweaty, middle aged men who were most likely looking for a way to forget their families and men who still lived with their mothers to get to the snooker tables that adorned the back of the bar.
"Anyone wanna play? I'm taking bets boys..." I winked at one guy who was looking over. I'd grabbed his attention; he trotted over to me looking as if he was a king and stood in front of me.
"You wanna try girly? I'm the champion around these parts. "
I forced a laugh, realising this sorry guy had no idea what he was going up against. " Sure, I'll try. What're you betting?"
A few more men came over grinning.
" I'll bet $25 on me to win", the original guy said proudly.
" $25 it is. Anyone else in?" I asked.
" Yeah, go on then. $25 on me to win," a few more guys muttered. This is gonna be fun.
"Right then boys. Form an orderly queue and wait for your turn." I did the sweetest smile I could muster and set up the snooker table.
Mr I Am passed me a cue and grinned at me. The game began. I took first shot and immediately took the lead, surprising the so called ' champion'.
" You still as confident? " I asked, grinning. " Yup. Not backing out now. Right lads?!" he called, which the others responded to with a chorus of " AYYYYY!" Throughout the bar.
He took his shot. I admit it was good, but not as good as mine. I was still in the lead with the 4 reds I'd managed to put on my first shot. I lined up the cue again and hit. The balls went flying into the pockets giving me a massive advantage. The man who I was against had a look of both awe and fear upon his face.
I glanced over to the table. Dean had returned and by the looks of things was wondering where I was. Em was talking rapidly which meant she was telling a story of some sorts which meant she was trying to change the subject. Ah, good one Em. The guy took his shot and wasn't proud of it. It was awful to say the least! Still, I stifled a laugh and took my go. The balls scattered across the table rapidly and, what a surprise, my shot won the game. " Sorry champ, pay up."
A grumble was heard from him as he looked at me annoyed. He reached into his pocket and pulled a out a wad of cash. He counted out the money and handed it over then walked over to his friends who were laughing at him.
"So. Who's next?"
Men looked at each other with confusion wondering whether I was good or if the other dude had been terrible. One guy volunteered and yet again I beat him. Many more guys played me and let's just say that I won a lot of money in the space of an hour.
Em's P.O.V.
"So that's how I climbed my first tree." I finished. Oh my father, if Belle doesn't hurry up, Dean's gonna go looking for her. " Fascinating..." Dean muttered, taking a gulp of his beer.
"So what do you think of my sister? Don't worry I won't tell her," I asked, changing the subject again.
" She seems nice. " Sam smiled.
" She is, trust me. You just have to get to know her. "
"Why would someone spend long enough to get to know someone like that?" Dean muttered. Sam slapped Dean on the arm as my face started to turn red yet again.
"What did you say?" I admit I did say it abit sharply but you don't insult my sister.
"Nothing." Dean said.
"Good." I looked at the worn table as an awkward silence descended.
"Well... I'm gonna see where Belle has gotten to." Dean went to stand up.
"No! Don't go. You haven't heard about my pets that I had when I was younger!"
" Listen Em, I'm sure your pets were amazing and I'd love to hear all about them. As soon as I find your sister" he walked off.
" I'd like to hear about your pets" Sam muttered smiling. I opened my mouth to speak but was interrupted by a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see a tall guy with short blonde hair looking at me.
He was probably about Belle's age and was grinning at me. " Hey, can I buy you a drink?"
"Erm... I have one here, but thanks." Oh god my face was red again. WHY?! The first male to ever properly pay attention to me has asked me if I wanted a drink and all I can do is blush like a crazed tomato.
" Well why don't you come over and join me? If you're not busy..." Sam sat up straighter, showing his height. The blonde guy stepped back a little.
"I would but i've got to find my sister." I looked around hoping to find Belle.
"We're sitting literally just over there so you'll be able to see her from the table." He smiled at me and pulled me from the table without me answering his earlier suggestion.
"I really shouldn't leave Sam. He's meant to be watching me..."
"How old are you? surely you don't need a baby sitter."
"I'm 18."
" Hey, she said she wants to stay with me. Take a hint and leave her." Sam said standing up and walking over to the guy.
" Sam it's fine I can handle this-"
" She's Eighteen not twelve. Look darling, you'll be fine with me!" I shuffled backwards towards the table. I didn't trust this guy.
"I'm fine here thanks." The guy gave me a look of lust mixed with hatred. I turned away and sat back down when I felt his hand appear on my arm. I shrugged him off.
"Hey, dude. She doesn't want to go over there so leave her alone." Sam moved his chair closer to me as he told the dude this.
" No. Not until she makes it clear."
I stood up as confidence overcame me.
"Please could you bloody sit back in your chair over there and leave me alone with Sam!" I grabbed my drink off the side and threw it square in his face.
Sam laughed and a smile crept onto my face.
" HEY WHAT WAS THAT FOR?! YOU BITCH! " The guy screamed as he stormed away.
" WAS THAT CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YOU DOUCHEBAG?" I yelled after him. Belle would of been proud.
Sam's face still held the ghost of a smile as he looked at me. It was then that I realised what I'd done. I'd drawn attention to myself, I'd embarrassed myself, despite my epic aim with the drink, and probably embarrassed Sam too.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom." I stuttered standing and beginning to walk off. Stares followed me on my way. Belle needs to hurry up. And where is Dean? He left ages ago, and part of me was glad. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy to let that douchebag walk away from that.
I pulled my phone out of my bag as I entered the toilets and went into a cubicle. I texted Belle - 'where are you? We need to leave now!'
I doubted she had her phone turned on anyway but it was worth a try. I opened the cubicle door and walked to the sink. I turned it on and let the cold water wash over my fingers; the door opened as an elderly woman came into the tiny bathroom with 3 cubicles. I smiled at her when her eyes flashed black.
"Oh no. Lady, can you hear me?" I asked.
" Oh I can hear you, bitch. You need to listen. You know the Winchesters eh?" Quickly I called Belle from behind my back, praying she'd answer.
" Yyyyes. Wwwwhy?" I stuttered
"Because I have a message for them. You tell them that-" her eyes stayed black as her grey hair came loose from its clip. Finally it hit me - an adrenaline surge.
"You know what. I'm fed up of people in general today. You want the winchesters? You speak to them. I'm not an owl!" I'd always wanted to use that phrase, God bless Hermione Granger!
"An owl... You know what? Because you seem to be cozying up with the winchesters I'll show them what I want."
She lunged across the room at me but I dodged. Where are you Belle? I don't wanna call Cas but if it comes to that, I will...
" WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?" I yelled, running to the door.
" THEM!" She screamed, following after me. I ran back inside the bar with the old lady following me. Where are the pool tables? Where is belle?
I looked frantically from side to side when the salt and pepper shakers came into view three tables away. My eyes focused only on the salt as the elderly but swift possessed woman chased me. I was close. So close. I reached out and grabbed the salt shaker. Blindly I threw the salt in the general direction of the demon. A scream filled the room, but no one seemed to notice.
Why could no one hear this? In actual fact, why was no one moving? Oh no.
" THAT'S RIGHT MY GIRL, I'VE PAUSED THE ROOM. NO ONE CAN HEAR OR SEE US" She leered, recovering from my attack. " You see, down in hell, I'm kind of a big deal. Not Lucifer of course, but pretty high up" I backed away.
" Why do you want the Winchesters? " I asked. Maybe I can telepathically talk to Belle, will that work?
"Well those... Boys have something that's mine, something that I need, something that's valuable." With every word the demon said, it's voice got more angry to the point where the tone could be counted as shouting.
"What do you want from them?" My voice quivered.
"I want the colt."
"The cccolt?"
" Oh you really don't know do you? It's a gun sweetie, a gun that can kill anything. And they have it. So seen as though you're pretty close to them I'll just lightly damage you and then be on my way" She advanced towards me " Just as a little Erm, warning. Tell them if they don't hand over the gun, I'll do worse" I stumbled backwards. What did Belle teach me to do? Think think! Weapon. I need a weapon.
What weapon will stop a demented, power thirsty demon in the form of a grandma? I searched the room when my eyes locked on my weapon. A snooker cue. I sprinted to it, shocking the demon. My hands grabbed it and I swung it. The demon's vessel went down. I leapt onto the pool table and found Belle's eyes in the sea of frozen people. The grandma circled me and I followed her as best as I could. She clicked her fingers and a sharp pain attacked my ankle. I fell. Not a graceful fall but an almost faceplant as I grasped my ankle in pain.
"Why are you targeting me?"
" Sam favours you. And if I attack you then Sam will get upset which will upset Dean. " Suddenly an idea struck me " Do you even know what I am? I'm half angel. And that girl there" I said nodding towards Belle
"Will hunt you down when she knows what you've done. So will half of heaven. So leave now before I call my family and trust me, they will be pissed. "
"Ahhh an angel. Can you imagine the glory and power I'll get when Lucifer finds out I've slayed an angel? Infinite amounts!"
"I was right.. you're power hungry." i muttered.
"What was that, girl?"
"Just burn in hell." The exorcism in Latin came back to me. Belle had taught it to me when we were on the streets.
"Ss-t-o-p." The demon choked out.
The room began to move again.
" Em? What're you doing? " Belle asked, helping me off of the table. Blood poured from my left ankle. " Oh god. Sit down. What happened? " Belle pushed me onto a chair. I couldn't speak. I was drained from the encounter.
"Someone get some ice! Pronto. My little sister is bleeding out here!" Belle had started to shout as her face flickered in and out of focus. "WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE WAITING FOR? MOVE!" She screamed. " Em, focus on me. Look at me. Stay with me please, I need you. " Everything went black.
Sam's P.O.V.
A crowd had gathered at the side of the bar and the smell of sulfur lingered near the snooker tables. I pushed forward towards the group of strangers investigate. A voice screamed "WHAT ARE YOU PEOPLE WAITING FOR? MOVE!" - it sounded familiar...
Belle! I ran over to find her hunched over a sofa in the corner. " Hey, what's happened?"
" She's hurt. Bleeding a lot. I need help."
It was then that Em came into view. She was slouched on a striped, butt worn sofa, unconscious. Her breathing was steady, but she looked worn out.
"We need to get her to the impala and back to the motel!" I hurried over to the distressed form of belle and saw Em properly up close.
" DEAN! " I yelled.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw him run over " What?"
" Open the impala up and hold the doors for me. " I pulled Em's arm around the back of my neck and shoulders and picked her up ready to carry her out.
"BE CAREFUL! SHE'S A HUMAN BEING! WATCH THE DOOR FRAME!" Belle's voice echoed as she followed behind anxiously as Dean rushed in front. I jogged to the door, my arms encasing Em.
" He knows what he's doing Belle, I promise you. She'll be okay. " Dean explained guiding me through the door.
" Dean, open the car" I commanded and surprisingly he did. I slid into the back with Em sprawled across me knees. Dean closed the door and jogged around to the drivers seat. Belle got in the passenger seat and Dean sped off.
" Belle, can't you use your magic powers and make her better?" Dean said as he drove us back to the motel.
"Don't you think I've tried that?" Belle snapped, "She's been attacked by a demon. The trace on her is too strong and I can't help her until it wears off! It's times like these I wish I was a full angel!"
"Hey it was just an idea. " Dean shrugged speeding up. Belle began to shake and I swear she was humming to herself. Still, she never let go of Em's hand. " This is it. I've let her down. I'm useless. Why do I exist?" Belle spat.
"It's no time for your pity party right now. We need to focus on making your sister better. Okay?" Dean looked briefly at Belle as he was driving and she shut up. My heart was pounding; Em had to be alright or else it would be true - everything and everyone I get close to dies.
"I'm calling him" Belle muttered before screwing her eyes closed and muttering something in enochian.
In a second, Castiel appeared next to me. " Arabella, why did you call?"
I coughed a little bit and Cas looked at me then at Em alarmed.
"What has happened?" Castiel was worried. His brows furrowed as he took in the state of his sister who was still across my lap.
"We don't know much except that it involved demons." I told Cas.
" Can you heal her?" Dean asked pulling onto the motel car park.
" I'm afraid I can't, I've been visiting upstairs and we still aren't agreeing on a few issues. I can only teleport for now. "
Belle choked out a sob and I took Em's other hand.
" Dean, get the door for me."
The car door opened quickly and I rushed out, Em in my arms and Belle in tow. Dean rushed to open the motel door and I basically ran to place Em on the bed.
"I'll summon Gabe." Belle started to speak in enochian.
"Gabriel?" Castiel said incredulously.
"Have you got anymore ideas?" Cas was quiet after that and let Belle finish summoning Gabriel. I had a bad feeling about this...
" Sup bitch?" Gabriel smirked landing infront of Belle. She looked up at him. "Belle what's happened? Why are you crying?" He said pulling her into a hug.
" Fix Em for me Gabe. I don't have enough power and Cas is in trouble. Please." He nodded and walked to Em, completely ignoring the rest of us. His face contorted with concentration as his hand firmly gripped Em's. He spoke in enochian. We all held our breath preparing for the worst when Em took in more air than she was before. After a few seconds her eyes flickered.
" EM! " Belle laughed running over and hugging her. Gabriel grabbed Dean by his collar and dragged him over to me. He grabbed my collar and held us both up in the air.
" Now listen to me boys. Anything like this happens again, call me. Both of them know how to and Cas can take a guess. If they get hurt, well, use your imagination to what'll happen to you two." He dropped us and walked to Belle, Em and Cas.
They all huddled on the double bed as Belle sobbed happy tears. Dean and I watched for a minute then we left to go to the impala to check on ammo and to give the family of angels a moment.
" Dean, are they safe with us?" I asked
" Sure. We just need to stick with them. All the time. I'm guessing you wanna stick with Em?"
I smiled " Why did you say that like that?"
" Like what?"
" Sarcastically."
" Because, it's cute."
" I don't follow your idea..."
" You know! You two! It's cute!"
"Cute?!" I furrowed my brow. I don't even properly know the girl for god sake! Cute! I stared at Dean in confusion.
"Yeah, cute. Like you're both suited to eachother. Arwh hell, forget it. You wanna go back inside?" Dean asked, checking his wristwatch. I looked up into the night sky and smiled at the stars.
"Let's just go back to our room." I started to walk quickly back to our door which was 3 down from the girls room.
"Hey, Sammy. Wait up, dude!" Dean jogged behind me as I started to open the door.
" Sorry, I didn't realise you weren't keeping up," I smirked walking into the battered old motel room. A rock solid mattress with a paper thin duvet welcomed me as I kicked my shoes into a corner.
" Your long legs gave you an advantage and plus, I was looking at the stars." Dean muttered, locking the door behind him.
"Awww looking at the stars Dean." I teased. He shot me a glare as I laughed at him.
"One word Sammy. Cute." And with that he walked into the bathroom humming eye of the tiger.
I heard the shower turn on and Dean began to sing to himself. My eyes felt heavy so I threw back the duvet and lay down in my temporary bed. I pulled the duvet back around me. It's so hard finding a motel with a duvet that properly fits me. My feet and ankles always stick out of the bottom of them.
" ITS THE EYE OF THE TIGER IT'S THE THRILL OF THE FIGHT!" Dean bellowed. You know, after 22 years with Dean, I'll never get used to his shower singing.
