Belle's P.O.V
I sat down on the cheap motel room bed next to Gabriel. Cas helped Em over to her bed and he stood in the corner of the room. " Hey, how'd you feel?" I asked Em.
"Mrhhmm." She groaned, flopping down and putting her head on the pillow.
"What does mrhhhmm mean?" Cas asked, "It's not in the dictionary."
"It means that she feels tired." I translated as I looked over to Em who was softly snoring now.
Gabriel stood up and began to pace the floor. " I don't like it" He muttered, crouching beside em and looking at her. " What?" I asked. " Leaving you two like this. You're in danger. I can feel it" Em shivered in her sleep and I placed a blanket over her. " Gabe, we're fine, honest. And we have Cas..."
I looked at Gabe, "If we couldn't look after ourselves we'd already be dead."
He stared at me steadily. "Belle. This was a close one. I don't want you hunting for a while. You're at a disadvantage compared to us."
"What's THAT supposed to mean?!" I said angrily, making Em stir.
" Cool it, I'm just saying. You don't have full angel powers. You're limited"
Cas pushed himself off of the wall and edged towards Gabriel. " Gabriel, they do have powers. Just not as many"
" Who exactly do you think you are Mr. Archangel? We don't need your powers to be good hunters. "
Gabe held both of his hands up and stepped back " Alright, alright. I'm sorry. I just don't want you hurt"
"Fine. I don't think we'll be able to hunt for few days. I mean Em needs to feel up to it..." I looked down as tiredness overcome me. "Gabe I think I need to sleep. Honestly, I'll see you soon." I fell into my bed and pulled the covers over me, still fully clothed. I drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
Dean's P.O.V (next day)
I was rudely awoken by a very concerned Sam.
"DEAN GET UP, THEY'VE GONE!" Who's gone? What's he talking about? I rolled over and pushed my head into the pillow, determined to ignore him. I heard him run away and return, before he dumped a glass of freezing water on my head.
"WHAT SAM? What is your problem?!" I sat up and shook my head, flicking water off of my hair.
"THEY'VE GONE. LEFT!" Sam was looking at me with worry and exasperation in his eyes.
"Woah. Who's 'They'." I asked in confusion.
"Em and Belle."
I shot up out of the wet covers and stood up. I started to pace.
"Where have they gone?" Sam raised his eyebrows "Did they leave a note, anything? Does Cas know?" I bombarded Sam with these questions.
"I don't know, Dean. I knocked on the door about ten times. They didn't answer so I picked the locks and they were gone. No trace of anything left behind." Sam was filling me in.
"Let's go check again then!"
"Dean...you may wanna get dressed..." Sam muttered as I ran outside. "No time Sammy, no time" I looked down to see that I am wearing black boxer shorts...and nothing more. Crap.
I opened the door to what had been the girls' motel room and found it empty. Like surgically clean. I tore the duvets off of the beds and found a scrap of paper.
'Sorry boys, we don't stick around for long. See you next time, but only if you can catch us. Tell Cas we're off the radar, so don't bother looking for us. Have a nice life - Em and Queen Awesome'
Crap, Cas is gonna kill us.
Em's P.O.V.
We were sitting in an old car that Belle had hotwired. Of course I'd protested, but Belle being Belle hadn't listened and forced me to sit in the passenger side. We hadn't spoke for a while because I thought it was a bad idea leaving Sam and Dean. What would Cas say? We'd be in so much trouble. It had started when Belle had wanted to get out, so instead of telling me, she'd packed me in the ancient car and started to drive away from the motel whilst I was still half asleep, in my pyjamas.
"I could report you for kidnapping, you know." I mumble to Belle.
"Did you say kidnapping? I can't understand you through the mumbling, Em." Belle didn't glance over, only kept her eyes on the road as she tapped a tune on the steering wheel. If she tapped that steering wheel one more time, this piece of rubbish would break apart and we'd probably blow up or something.
"Yeah I said kidnapping, I could arrest you" Belle laughed, before flashing me a manic grin. That grin means she has a plan.
"Oh Emmy, Emmy, Emmy. If only you knew."
"Knew what?" I yawned. Belle raised her right hand, waving a huge wad of money in my face. "Oh my god...where did you get that?!" I couldn't hide my excitement. "Snooker last night! We're loaded Em!" We laughed in unison, thrilled with the new freedom we have.
"How much is there? There's got to be at least $2000!" I grin at her again and clap my hands. I stop when I realise I probably look like a seal performing tricks for food.
"There's $5000, Emmy. Just think: We can buy our own car and clothes and you can get a new guitar and we can get our hair done. We actually have something for once." Belle looks like she's going to explode from excitement.
"I may forgive you for dragging me away at God knows what time this morning, but I'm still mad at you for not letting me lie in for a bit longer; I think I deserve that considering I almost got killed by a frickin' demon."
"You deserve a lot more, and we're gonna get it! First thing's first, starts with a s ends in hopping!" Belle laughed.
"New books!" I squealed happily.
"We've driven for long enough right? We can stop here." Belle pulled the car into a parking space and I looked around. A huge mall. With at least ten different book stores. I don't think I've ever been this happy. I looked down at myself.
"Ummm... Belle... I'm still in my PJ's. I think I need to change. Can you stand guard outside the window and make sure no one watches whilst I change?" Before she answers I jump up, run to the trunk and open it. I start to dig through my bag and find my last clean outfit: a black hoodie, white vest top and black skinny jeans with some converse. I quickly walk to the back of the car and get in and change my clothes, so fast I think I've given myself whiplash. As I'm changing I notice the bruises that are starting to form, despite getting healed. They hadn't bothered me until now. They'd only just started to hurt. I tried to forget about them and got out of the car to a waiting Belle.
"Let's go already, I have an amazing idea!" We began to walk.
"Tell me this idea then." I prompted, slightly afraid of what she'd say.
"I'm getting a tattoo!"
"Are you sure?"
"Positive, you'll love it! Good god, it's warm" Belle fanned her face with her hand, clearly not used to the American temperature. We entered the mall and Belle's eyes lit up. We haven't shopped for years, we deserve this.
I stared at all the floors that towered over us. At least five floors full of shops with everything you could imagine. It just so happened that right next to us was a book shop- Barnes & Noble. I shot a pleading look to Belle and waited for her to nod before I ran to the door and entered. I could hear Belle laughing behind me and soon after she'd located me sitting on the floor sorting through YA books.
"Belle, I've wanted all of these for so long!" I laughed, adding another three books to the already high pile.
"Hey Em, look at this. You like this one, right?" I turned to look at Belle who was holding a brown, hardback, vintage looking book. I took it from her and read the title- 'Peter Pan'. My heart did a flip!
"Belle this is amazing! I've loved this one since I was a little girl!"
"You still are a little girl" Belle grinned, handing me a load of money. I collected my books and paid at the till.
We were walking, well I was dragging my feet as I was weighed down by books, through the mall when we saw Hot Topic. Belle was standing there doing a small dance as people looked at us. We'd been wanting to visit here since we were about 12 and had heard about the shop with countless amounts of merch. We almost sprinted into the dark, intimidating shop and started pulling at the clothes on the hangers trying to find our sizes.
"LOOK AT THIS!" My childlike sister screamed, holding a black t-shirt in the air. It pictured one of her childhood heroes,Jack Skeleton, standing above an open grave. I gave her a double thumbs up and she threw the shirt onto her shoulder, joining the pile of shirts she already chose.
"Emmy, I'm gonna pay and then I'm gonna go get my tattoo, meet me for a milkshake in an hour in that store?" Belle asked, pointing to a café opposite Hot Topic. "Sure! Good luck!" I grinned, getting distracted by a silver necklace with a black cat pendant. Belle left and I grabbed the necklace before a girl next to me got it.
After paying for my massive stack of clothes, I wandered around the shops on the third floor, not wanting to stray too far from the café where I had to meet Belle. On this little adventure I saw a small record and CD store; of course after seeing this I made a beeline to it and entered looking at the stacks of music in awe. As I was making my way around, I saw it. A dark blue fender acoustic guitar, only problem was that it was $200. I could play for tips and pay the money back to Belle... After this reasoning I decided to buy it. I played at the kiosk and lugged my guitar to the café to find a small table in the corner and to order a chocolate milkshake.
I drank two milkshakes and ordered a third when Belle strolled in with the biggest grin plastered on her face. She ordered a milkshake and sat opposite me.
"Okay I got my lip pierced too" She giggled, pointing to a silver lip ring through the left corner of her bottom lip. It looks awesome! "I love it!" I laughed.
"Holy Shit, your guitar! Em it's beautiful!" Belle praised, looking down at my new pride and joy.
"Show me the tattoo!" she turned her back to me and moved her hair away from her neck, revealing a pair of wings inked on the back of her neck. The wings are black, just like Cas'. "Belle it's beautiful! Angel wings! Are they a tribute to Cas?"
"Yeah, I owe him a lot. And I owe Gabe a lot too" she smiled, turning back to face me. She pulled up her left sleeve to reveal a pink and white lollypop on the inside of her wrist.
"It's beautiful! He'll love it!"
"One more!" She lifted her right sleeve and this one is my favourite. A Peter Pan hat inked on her wrist, like the lollypop. This one has no colour, only outline. Next to the hat is a small 'E'. "For my little sister and best friend." Belle smiled, tapping next to the tattoo. I hugged her across the table.
"So what do you want to do next? I was thinking maybe we could go to the hair salon?" I say as I sit back down in my seat.
"Yeah, I don't know how long I can keep touching up the red with my Angel powers. It's starting to fade." Belle messes with her hair as she says it and then takes a sip of her milkshake.
"I was thinking of dip dying my hair. What colour do you think I should do it? I was thinking a teal or turquoise colour, because it suits black hair, but I don't want to look too out there. You know me, trying to be unnoticeable." I look down and take a sip of my drink as Belle looks at my hair, deep in thought.
"I like turquoise! I was thinking of dying all my hair fire truck red, like Gerard Way's in the Killjoy era of mcr. Thoughts?" She slurped her drink and I nodded enthusiastically.
"You think they'll find us?" I asked.
"Nope. Dean wouldn't try to find us and Sam won't go without Dean. We're safe, trust me" I smiled and stirred my drink. "Alone again, just me and you vs the world."
"Believe me, the world has a storm coming if it's going against us; team superawesomewithsprinkles" Belle grinned.
We'd just sat down and had hair dye put into our hair when Belle made an interesting noise "Blergh."
I looked up and gave a questioning look whilst saying "What?"
"Don't be obvious, but look up now." Belle sounded like she was being strangled, although I think that was due to the woman who was dragging more hair dye roughly through her hair.
I looked up underneath my lashes and saw as clear as daylight, through the salon window, Sam Winchester. He wasn't hard to spot considering he was a good foot taller than most people and the only male on this floor. What was he doing here? Why couldn't they leave us?
"What do we do?" I asked, looking at my sister.
"Raise magazines, we're covered" I lifted a gossip mag so it hid my face and made a tiny hole in the page so I could see Sam. He entered the store and began to talk to the lady behind the desk. She shook her head and he left, looking seriously worried. "He's gone" I whispered. Belle lowered the magazine and winked at me. I laughed and breathed a sigh of relief. A shower was ran through my hair.
I was enjoying the feeling of the shower when Sam came into view again, by the window we were behind. I gasped and hissed through my teeth, "Belle, he's back. Good God, why can't they leave us alone?"
Belle tensed, "Just act natural- like you're a normal person getting their hair washed."
He was getting closer to the window. It was like something from mission impossible. He was just getting close enough when he suddenly turned.
"Do you think Dean's with him?" I ask Belle whilst still looking up as my hair was washed.
"I doubt it. He's a selfish arse who only does things for himself. If he was here it would be because something would happen to him if we didn't go back." "Ummm... Belle I think you're right because he just found Sam and left. They've gone to another floor..."
We began to get our hair dried when my gaze turned to the window again. I looked up and saw Sam and Dean looking in a store, one floor up.
The next half an hour was spent worrying about getting caught whilst my hair was finished up with a hair dryer. We paid and left, with Belle clearly proud of her new red hair. "Sammy is that...?" oh my god that voice. Belle grabbed my hand and we began to run through crowds of people, becoming breathless as we raced. Running isn't easy when you're carrying more than 50 bags between you.
I could hear them running behind us, their footsteps getting louder, when we came to a lift, the doors had just opened so we hopped in. They were about a metre away when the doors closed. Belle and I were panting as neither of us were really athletically enabled. The bags were weighing heavier than ever especially for me since I was carrying a guitar on my back. We had to hope that Sam and Dean had to take the 3 levels of stairs to get down to the ground floor. After a couple of minutes we managed to squeeze our way out of the lift and sprint across the ground floor. The doors were in view. We were close to freedom.
Belle went down. Literally, she hit the floor like a sack of potatoes. I pulled her up but Dean skidded across the floor and blocked the exit. "Sorry ladies, you're not going anywhere" he chuckled.
"That's what you think pretty boy!" Belle cackled before kicking Dean right between the legs. He fell to the floor and Belle pulled me out of the door, jumping over Dean. Sam was after us, and damn, he's fast.
"Open the door!" I was yelling now. Yelling for our freedom, for our independence, to get away from everyone. We'd almost made it when a hand grabbed my shoulder. I spun around and looked angrily up at the hand's owner- Sam Winchester. Belle had turned around, "What are you waiting f..." It died on her lips as she realised we'd been caught. So close, yet so far.
