I decided to do another prompt meme (these are all fluffy though, don't worry ;) ) which was apparently quite popular with tumblr. I'll be uploading all of the mini drabbles I already posted there over the next week or so as I have time. I hope you enjoy them :)
The first prompt was: exes meeting again after not speaking for years au
AH/AU
It was unmistakable.
Those golden curls, the angelic laughter, the sway of those sensual hips, those mile long legs.
It had to be her.
"Caroline?"
The woman ahead of him stopped, slowly turning towards him as his rapidly beating heart seemed to come to a halt.
He was right.
"Klaus?" she asked, voice full of surprise. "What are you doing here?"
He smirked, finding himself falling far too easily back into old patterns. "I could ask the same of you, love. I thought you never wanted to leave Mystic Falls; what brings you to Chicago?"
A frown crossed her lovely face at the reminder of an old argument. "Things change," she said shortly. "Like people."
A matching frown made its way across his lips. "Come now, sweetheart, don't be like that," he cajoled, gently grabbing her elbow when she made to turn away. "I didn't mean to start a fight, please don't rush off. It's been 6 years, surely we can put the past behind us?"
Her face softened at his words and the sincerity she saw in his eyes. "Alright. But only if you buy me a cup of coffee," she said, small smile forming as she looked at him, seeing traces of the young man she once loved.
Klaus grinned widely at the invitation, which was much more than he had been hoping for. "Of course, Caroline. Let me just send Bekah a message and I'll take you to my favorite cafe."
He pulled out his phone, quickly sending his sister a text, telling her he would meet up with her a bit later. A small smirk formed when he caught sight of Caroline's eyes roaming his body out of the corner of his eye.
"Ready, love?" he asked, offering his arm.
She only hesitated a moment before wrapping her own around it, a pretty pink blush covering her cheeks as she fell into step with him, reminding them both of old memories.
Perhaps they didn't need to put all of the past behind them.
