I interrupt your daily lives for an update! :D This would've been the last chapter but no, I started feeling bad that most of you have been waiting for such a long time. So this is an intermission chapter instead cause I felt bad that I've been putting this off and I gotta treat all you guys that favourited, followed and reviewed as well! (Actually it's pretty amazing how many of you are watching this fic! I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart! *bows*)

So here's a little extra chapter with a touch of fluff to get you guys going! (Originally I wasn't going to put this segment in the original and only had a few lines typed out but this technically would be chapter 1.5 I guess?) I guarantee that the next chapter will be the last chapter and the proposals and wedding bells will ring! I know I've been saying that for the past few two chapters but no more delays, I promise!

"Hey Gon?"

"Hm?"

It's been a week since Netero hoisted the couple onto his helicopter and offered them to be examiners for the infamous Hunter Exam. Both of them agreed at the cost of Killua doing something 'special' but keeping this surprise for an entire year...is going to be dreadful for him.

Gon tends to sniff out whatever he's hiding, but this time he knew exactly how to thwart her investigation and run a little errand at the same time.

"Can we go to Whale's Island for a while?" Killua asks while planning the inevitable. He knew he had to go at some point…actually, he really should've gone earlier. Now that he has the whole year to prepare for this important occasion, he'll have to venture to the depths of Gon's home island for a very important reason.

"Uwa! Really? How come?" Gon questions in shock. It was usually her suggesting to go back to her home, but this is the very first time that Killua wants to go.

"Err..." Killua shifts his eyes not wanting to say the truth. "Mito-san, kinda replied to my letter." He held up a piece of paper.

"What did she say? You wrote her a letter instead of an email? I'm so proud of you Killua!" Gon gasps as she attempts to take the letter from him.

"I'm not going to show you!" He quickly shoves the letter in his pocket before Gon could swipe it. "And she never replies back to my emails anyway."

"She said in the last letter that every time you send her an email, she'll add more red peppers in your meals secretly."

"...Gon, if you tell me then it's obviously not a secret anymore."

She immediately covers her mouth, "Oops!"

Killua chuckles at her.

After five days of taking several plane trips, they finally secured their ship home to Whale Island. Inhaling the salty sea air by the harbor, they challenged each other to a race of who could get to Gon's house first.

"Ready…Go!" They launched their feet at the same time and took off. Gon was thankful that Killua wasn't using his Godspeed ability, but she doesn't want to lose to his normal speed. Leaping over boats and scaling the old brick walls, the two were neck and neck until they jumped into Kon's forest.

With the animals recognizing Gon's scent, all of them began to spectate their race as each of the critters cheers and shouts their hello's in their tongue. Gon couldn't help but wave at each one of them. "Hi Mr Seal Owl, Oh it's been a long time Gura- Han, have you been eating too much again? Kon! I'm going to beat Killua this time-" Seeing the king of the forest made Gon lose focus on her path. Killua took the chance to speed past her, "HEY!" Realizing she let her guard down, she put a little more power in her feet to catch up to Killua. "We'll talk later Kon!" Gon hurries away as Kon howls back at her.

"Looks like I'm going to win again!" He playfully mocks with a click of his tongue.

She furrows her eyebrows determined, "No, I'll win!"

"But you're so faaaaar behind~" He stuck his tongue at her which made her to try harder.

With a smirk, she put her plan into action, "Killua over there! Look!" She points to his left.

"As if that old trick will-OMF!" Since he kept his eyes on Gon, his face collided into a hanging tree branch that knocked him to the ground. She KNEW he wasn't going to fall for that, so she made sure to keep his eyes away from the front.

"Blehhh~" It was her turn to stick out her tongue as she claims first place...However, Killua wasn't amused. He sprung himself onto his feet with electricity and took away her rank with ease.

"You're cheating!" Gon cried when she saw the electric sparks emit from his feet.

"You cheated too!" Killua barked as they both left the forest and ascended up the hill. Gon's house wasn't too far now as they both picked up the pace. It was the final stretch and Gon was almost closing in the gap that was between her and Killua.

The ex-assassin's competitive side came out as he didn't want Gon to beat him. He gave Gon a little leeway to make her think she could have a chance at winning but inevitably, he won first place by touching the door before her. They both panted from the long run even though neither of them broke a sweat. They were both so strong that they could probably breeze through Satotz exam again just for the fun of it. "I won!"

Gon stubbornly stomps her feet feeling frustrated that she couldn't beat him, "One more time!"

"No way, I'll just beat you again." With his hands on his hips, he knew it would come down to her suggesting that.

"Then I'll challenge you again!" She clenches her fists decisively, she wasn't going to give up until she beats him at least once.

"And again, and again until you finally win." He sways his head from side to side jokingly.

"That's right!" She puffs her chest with confidence.

"And that's why you should give up~" His famous cat like grin appears.

"No way! Again! I wanna try again!" Gon flails her arms in the air trying to convince him but it fell to Killua's deaf ears when he ruffles her hair. Her face flushes red remembering how she's shorter than him but she still tried to tippy toe to his height…which failed, and was only making her more cute in Killua's eyes.

"Gon? Killua?" A familiar voice exited out of the household. "I knew it! Only you two could make such loud noises outside." Mito greets them with her warm smile. The two of them paused their bickering to acknowledge her.

"Mito-san! Obaa-san!" Jumping up and down and waving her hands happily, Mito excitedly ran up to her and gave her a tight hug. Killua simply raised his hand as his greeting to Gon's short grandmother who came behind Mito.

"Oh Gon, it's been such a long time! How were the ruins?" Mito watches Gon pull herself away from her arms.

"It was amazing and huge!" She bent down to give her grandmother a hug. "And there was so much ancient scriptures that I couldn't understand but they looked really cool! Killua took a lot of pictures too!" She describes excitedly.

"Yeah, but I thought I sent them by email?"

"Killua," Mito shot a sweet…almost too sweet grin at Killua, which made him break a sweat. "I thought I told you not to send me emails~?"

"Errrrr…" He was so screwed. He wants to run away but he knew he couldn't run away-

"We brought some developed photos with us for you two to look at!" Gon gleefully mentions as she rummages through her bag to find them. Killua was internally thankful that his future wife saved him from the impeding danger known as Mito.

"Oh my, if only I can look at them myself." Gon's grandmother health wavered on and off for the past few years that her eyesight has somewhat been affected.

"We were just going to get her checkup and get her eye medicine." Mito informs the two.

"I'll go! I can carry her there." Gon happily raises her hand as she approaches the elderly woman, propping her small grandmother on her back. "Killua, you should stay behind and tell Mito-san about our adventures!"

"Eh?" Killua was perplexed by her sudden proposition. They just got here and now Gon was leaving him behind? "Why me?" He whines.

"Weren't you the one that wanted to come here? There must be a lot of stuff you want to tell her!" Gon assumes and Mito giggles at Killua's helpless groan.

"Fine, just…don't take too long."

"I'll bring back some sweets for you two." Gon's grandmother waves at Killua and Mito when Gon slowly descends down the hill. Killua watches them until they safely gone down the path and walk into the forest where he could no longer track them.

"Let's head inside now. I can't wait to hear what stories you have to tell me." There was a hint of tease in Mito's voice. Killua grumbles as they both entered in the household and he went further inside. He drops his bag in the usual guest room…scratch that: His room that Mito specifically renovated for him…

It was fine when he and Gon slept next to each other as kids, but with them as adults and being an actual couple...Mito was too over protective of Gon as usual, but Killua couldn't blame her either.

He stepped out of his room and walked to the kitchen where Mito was. She already had a pot of tea set on the table and was grabbing the cups from the cupboard. Killua sat down when Mito brought it over and poured a cup for him. "Here you go Killua."

"Thanks," He took a small sip.

"So, will we be talking about the ruins? Or the topic of that lovely letter you sent me?"

Killua pouts and averts his gaze from her, "I actually sent a letter this time, so you better not be making fun of me…"

"I wouldn't dare." Mito clears her throat, "What was the important thing you wanted to talk about?"

"I, erm…" He stutters since he didn't know how to start. Yes, he mentally prepared for it but his words were choked up at the moment. He raises his cup again thinking if he drank more tea it would ease his nerves.

"It must be something really important..." She begins to wonder what it was since Killua didn't specify the subject in the letter, "Does it involve Gon?" Mito guessed and Killua's natural reaction was spitting out his tea. "So it is Gon! What are you two up to this time?" She clasped her hands together.

"Uh, we're both going to be examiners for the Hunter exam next year. I don't know if Gon told you." He thought it'd be better to start from the beginning.

Mito shook her head, "She hasn't told me anything yet but I guess she will later on. She must be excited!"

"Yeah." He agrees quietly.

"And you are too?" Mito tilts her head.

"No…I mean, kinda I guess…" He mumbles.

"What kind of exam are you two doing?"

Killua taps the rim of his cup, "I only have ideas so far. I don't have a concrete plan as of yet but…"

"But?"

"There's something…" He inhales, "Special I want to do during the exam…for Gon."

"And that is?" Mito probes.

"I want…to...propose to her…properly." His eyes kept shifting in different directions from his nervousness.

Mito's eyes sparkled as she was thrilled by Killua's confession. "Finally! What took you so long?" She came closer to Killua which made him flinch.

"Huh?" That was all that came out of the ex-assassin's mouth.

"I thought it would happen earlier knowing how close you two are." Killua blushes but Mito continues, "You're finally going to propose to her." She dreamily imagines some fantasies in her head, but she frowns when another thought loomed over her. "You'll be taking Gon away from me too." There was a bit of sadness in her voice and Killua's expression softens.

"I know Gon is important to you and you love her like a real mother, but she's also really important to me and I love her just as much as you do. You know that I'm from the Zoldyck family and…they may cause some problems in the future no matter what I do in my life. I swore to myself and I'll swear to you that no matter what happens, I'll be there to protect her. So…I-I'm…" He straightens his posture, "I'm going to propose to her at the next hunter exam. Even though I tried it many times before and it didn't work…but this time it might…no it will work, and it'll have to get through her head." When he saw the look on Mito's face who was staring at him intently with a wide smile. "W-What's with that look? I'm the one spilling all the beans here!"

"Oh yes, I hear you. I really appreciate that you're showing me your cute side." Mito chuckles at his embarrassment.

"I am so not cute!" He retorts, his bashfulness intensifies.

"That's not what Gon's tells me?"

"W-What? Ughh, she ratted out on me, I knew it!" His hands clung to the sides of his head.

"It's good that you have the resolve now. You've grown up to be a wonderful young man Killua." Mito praises him in a proud motherly tone.

Killua's face flushes red from her comment but it's the best thing he could ever hear from her. There's no way his mother would say what she said with warmth in her words. "R-Resolve?" He brought up that simple word Mito just mentioned.

"What I mean is, it's good that you're thinking of her so seriously now."

"I've always been serious."

"But you really didn't have to ask. If Gon approves of you then I do as well. I don't think there's any room for her to say no to you, and neither do I." She grins, "Promise you'll take good care of her?"

He bit his thumb and lifts the slightly bleeding finger at her, "I promise."

"Hm?" She wasn't aware of Killua's strange promising ritual but she held out her thumb as well. She was a bit surprised when his thumb touches hers, but she thought nothing of it when she saw Killua's honest eyes. Watching the weight that was on Killua's chest leave his body with a tired sigh, Mito decides to quench her curiosity. "Why don't you tell me of your 'previous' attempts you said earlier?" She sounded eager when she pulls up her chair.

"I…" He weakly starts, "T-Tried but…"

"It looks like Gon is making it hard for you huh?" Mito couldn't help but cover her mouth to suppress her laughter. "She's such a tease."

"I was literally covered in mud one time and she still didn't get the hint! But she made that adorable clueless face of hers and…" Mito began to snicker and he stopped his story instantly. "Don't you dare laugh!" He shot up from his seat embarrassed and Mito was painfully hugging her sides, her laughter filling the air. "Gon is just that weird and cute at the same time!"

In-between her laughter, Mito wipes a tear from her eye, "You two are perfect for each other."

"Oh shut up." He whips his head away from her.

"We're back!" The front door opens and Gon happily prances inside whiles placing her grandmother back on her feet.

"Gon!" Killua wanted to scream out 'save me from this hysterically laughing Mito before she recounts all of his embarrassing fails aloud to you'.

"Mito dear, I think the laundry is still outside." Grandmother plops herself on her favorite chair.

"I forgot!" Mito gasps and then noticed Gon was about to give Killua a hug. "Gon can you get them for me?"

"Ehh? But I wanna hug Killua-"

"One~" Mito cut off Gon and commences her usual countdown. "Two~"

"Eep! Gotta run!" She squeaks as she rushes out before Mito could reach three.

Killua eyed at her placing his chin on his hand, "You are pure evil."

"I'm a Freecs too. Don't compare me to Ging though." She took that as a compliment and winked deviously. She strolled over to the fridge to take out some food. "You can head to your room and change your clothes. I'll call you and Gon when dinner is ready."

"But I want to wait for her…Actually, I'll go help her." He stood up from his seat prepared to follow her. However, he denied Mito's command which means…

"Killua~" Mito took out a red pepper and swung it in front of his face to tantalize him, "One~ Two~ Three~"

Killua Godspeed himself out of the room making the lightest objects in the room fly up from his tremendous speed. "Still same as ever Mito." Grandma chuckled and so did Mito.

Even though they weren't children anymore, they were still terrified of Mito's countdowns.

"She's totally going to put them in my food. I just know it." Removing his dark blue shirt and replacing it with a baby blue sleeveless shirt, he lays on his bed and exhales tiredly. He knows after Gon finishes bringing in the laundry they'll head back into the forest to hang out and greet the animals properly but he kinda wants to nod off for a bit…

A knock disrupts his thoughts and he peeks at the window where the sound came from. "Gon?" Killua opens the window wondering if it was her. A small fuzzy puff ball leaps on his head without warning. "Gwak!" Whatever it was, it squirms and slips inside his shirt. In a panic, he raises his shirt quickly only for the creature to crawl its way back to Killua's head. Its tiny feet kept stepping on the back of his head trying to find a comfortable spot to rest. Thankfully there was a mirror in the room so when Killua took a peak and saw it was a baby kitsuneguma.

Forest green hair flowed by the window of Killua's room, "Did you call Killua? I finished the lau…" Gon couldn't finish her sentence when she saw the baby on Killua's head, "Awww, he likes you Killua!" She cooed.

The cub mews and happily chews on Killua's hair in excitement.

To Killua, it felt weird and gross…

However, knowing Gon was having fun watching him, he doesn't really mind...but he still wants to complain. "Who's this?" He pokes the tiny kitsuneguma on his head and it wiggles cutely.

"It's Kon's grandson!" On her trip back with her grandma, Kon introduced his new family to her. "I think we'll name him after you!"

"Me?" He blinks.

"Hmmm," She hums in thought, tilting her head by the window sill, "How about Lua?"

Knowing those were the last three letters of his name, Killua groans, "That's veeery imaginative Gon."

"I think it's a good name!"

"Well if you're naming this cub, I'll be naming our first kid. Deal?" He unknowingly blabs whatever came to mind.

"Deal!" Gon consented immediately...but then she realized what she readily agreed to. "Wait, what?" Her face grew red.

"Uh?" Not realizing what he blurted out, his cheeks also reddens. The red silence was killing them, "I-I didn't-"

"Then I'm naming the second one! And that's final!" She declares with her red face unchanged.

"…HAH?!" Killua shrieks as Gon folded her arms. "You just can't go and decide that!"

"Yes I can!"

"No you can't!"

"I like coming up with names though!" That was her best comeback.

"When they're not weird like yours!" He points at her.

"Hey! You were the one who started it!" She points back indignantly.

"F-Fine! At least tell 'Lua' that my hair isn't grass, and it's not green and it's NOT edible?" He ended up accepting Gon's name for the cub. Although, he desperately needs to change the subject.

"But…he looks like he's having fun?" Change of topic successful! Killua could relax now.

"What about me?!"

"I think you both look cute!" Gon fawns.

"I think I'm going to die." Killua watches Gon giggle and continues to feign his pain, the cub was now scrambling on his head pulling his white strands harder. "He gonna eat me alive!" He sprawls himself on the floor causing Gon to giggle harder causing a tug on his lips. The cub eventually flipped on top of his nose and stares at him in wonder, his tail wags curiously at his visage.

Gon decides it was time to jump through the window and land into Killua's room bringing the basket of laundry with her. Bending down, she raised the cub off from the ex-assassin. "I think you chewed on his hair enough Lua, you should head back to your mom now." Noticing the mother was close by, she brought Lua to the window jumping out of her hands and he dashed off to his mother happily.

They both watched the cub fondly as he and his mother waved bye. The couple waved back at them in return. Gon uses Zetsu to slip away and then she flips a blanket she took out from the laundry basket onto Killua's head to get his attention. Startled, he gazes at Gon who smirks at him.

"Let's finish putting these away so we can head out to the forest!" She playfully ruffles Killua's head with the blanket in which he muffled out a 'hey!'. Gon cackles, "Mito-san just started making dinner so lets escape for a while!"

An idea suddenly pop's into the ex-assassin's head, "Oh? So you want to escape huh?" His voice was low.

Gon blinks wondering what was up with the change, "Yeah, don't you?"

He hides his grin with the blanket, "Nah, how about…" Killua uses his electric speed to his advantage and sneaks behind her. Wrapping her with the blanket, she squeaks when she was unexpectedly twisted within the soft warm sheet and Killua purposely tangles himself with her. They both fell to the floor but the blanket saved from them grunting. "Me not letting you escape~"

"Ehh? That's not fair!" Gon moans.

"You want to try escaping now~?" He taunts.

"Mmm." She muffles in the blanket as she unravels some layers. She snuggles herself next to Killua wrapping her arms around his waist and kissing his chest. "Nope~!"

Killua's heart began beating rapidly as he embraces her gently. He smothers her with butterfly kisses which Gon couldn't help but melt at each one. She laces Killua's soft white hair in her hands leaving a peck on his forehead and trails down until their lips tenderly touched each other. Slowly they were enveloped by their sweet lips as they passionately deepen their kiss and clung to each other for a while before pulling themselves apart when they needed some air.

They cuddled as Killua completely covers the blanket over themselves. The blanket formed a tent and Gon and Killua snickered together when they started wrestling each other playfully. The two kept on twirling themselves in the warm blanket while nuzzling each other affectionately.

"Mou, where are those noises coming from?" With a click, the door opened revealing Mito and the first sight she saw was…an igloo? She pulls the blanket off from them. Gon's back was on the floor and Killua was above her…but somehow, this scene wasn't new to Mito, "Honestly, I leave you two alone for five minutes, and I walk in seeing this?"

"Uhhh…" They glanced at each other weakly, neither of them had any excuses to give her.

"Since you've been so helpful with the laundry, how about you help me with dinner too?"

"Eh? But we're the guests!" Killua protests.

"Killua, it's my home!" Gon sprung up from the floor sitting up.

Mito taps her foot, "I want you both in my kitchen in 3, 2-"

The couple shot up from the floor and ran, "I'll get there first!" Gon leaps to the door.

"No I will!" Killua caught up to her and tried to exit out of the room but the opening was small so he and Gon got stuck at the entrance. Both of their shoulders squeezed through the narrow frame. "Let me go first!"

"No, I'm going first! Ngh!"

"How about you both go first." Mito lightly pushes them forward.

"Waah!" Despite Mito's push being light, Gon and Killua crashes to the floor. Gon's grandmother claps joyfully at the sight.

"Mito-san!" Gon whimpers while's Killua gave her a look.

Mito couldn't help but chuckle at the 'future' husband and wife, and…her future son-in-law.

Present day.

"Hisoka is totally going to ruin everything." Leorio elbows Killua.

Sarcastically Killua replies, "You can't say that any louder?"

Hisoka waves his dainty fingers and the two watched Gon wave at him in return. Killua figured she was going to challenge him to a round of rock paper scissors.

If Killua could choose rock, he would bash Hisoka out of his existence.

Be back again in a year! Probably? Maybe two centuries? Ahaha? Please review if you like it and if you want me to continue! :D
