Wally meant for it to be a gentle kiss, a gamble, just a soft touching of the lips. But something definitely vicious bloomed forth; like the dynamite gets torched or the fire fought against ice; something wild and over whelming. Something they both either can't contain or put a stop to. Artemis eyes fell close as she drowns in a sea of the pleasure. Coherent thoughts ceased and her hand flew up to his chest as to throw him off but instead she grabbed his shirt pulling him closer stunning herself and Wally with the intense wave of desire it evoked. The little equilibrium Wally had left vanished from the face of Earth as he gathered her more closer, tightening his grip around her shoulder as she was about to vanish in the air and deepened the kiss while getting on top of her. Artemis's hand found his way to his wavy hairs and she pulled his hair out letting him know of the dragging of air he was causing her but right now it didn't matter. Their heart beats were in overdrive, pounding ragingly against each other, making them lose their minds as they continued on kissing.
Finally, Wally pulled away reluctantly. He needed to breathe. She needed to breathe. The realization of what he had done dawn upon him but he was willing to give a chance. So, he stayed in the same position gazing intensely at the goddess who has rocked his world the moment she steps into his life. Artemis on the other hand was a different story. Wally leaned in again for more but Artemis turned her head to the side refusing to meet his eyes. She touched her tingling lips as really confirming that she had been kissed and looked into his eyes a little shaken. The slight tinge of fear; though was come and gone in a matter of seconds; confused him. She looked utterly vulnerable worse than she looked in the interrogation room when Jimmy called her out but covered it pretty well by releasing a controlled breath. Immediately Wally regretted his decision and moved away giving her space; thinking that he might just have ruined any chance of being her friend let alone be with her.
Dear Sense, I am sorry if you ever feel unappreciated but now…really will be the time to start working again…, Artemis thought to herself as she deliberately rubbed her head sensing the incoming head ache. "Wally….Listen I…", Artemis tried to explain herself.
"No, you don't have to…", Wally jumped down from the hood of the car, "I was out of line…I shouldn't have done that...Clearly it was a mistake…I am sorry", Wally said hoping to hide his hurt and anger he was suddenly feeling for himself; for getting rejected and scarring her for some damn reason he didn't know about…Who am I kidding… I actually don't know anything about her…, he thought to himself as he placed his hands in his pants pockets and take a few steps back.
"Yeah…A mistake…", Artemis misinterpreted his anger towards herself, "Don't apologize…Please…it's no big deal…I guess we both have a little too much drink to remember our limits…huh", Artemis tried to play it cool but since they both had only taken few sips of beer Wally takes the defensive position immediately.
"For the record you didn't push me away….But you are right…Its nothing…I mean it's just one meaningless kiss", Wally said casually ending the conversation from his side, Artemis also took offence but didn't voice it but instead settled on glaring the ground. Wally nervously shifts a hand through his hair and said after a while, "Look it's getting pretty late…I should drop you back at the hospital…Your family will be worried…"
"Yeah…Sounds good"

The ride to hospital have been awkwardly silent with Wally cursing himself for making a bold move and replying a bit harshly while Artemis thinking how to pleasantly explain the situation to him. Wally wasn't used to get rejected so it was a major blow to his ego. He was used to have the casual relationships but since Artemis steps into his life he has started reading into their interaction as something more than the friendship …because that would only explain the short time trances she was sending him into…other than him being suffering from some unknown fetal heart disease being the only other explanation left to ponder… but now that he was aware that feelings are not mutual, Wally was just hoping to have a plain friendship with her. The ride may be an hour long yet it felt like thousands miles to both of them. If Artemis could put a word to her emotional state it would be surprised, glee and regret. She was amazed at his brashness but since its Wally she always expect the unexpected from him but most of all she was surprised at herself; she would be lying to herself if she say that she didn't enjoy the moment. The epiphany that Wally may have conjured and secured a place in her heart in this short time; though as a friend or something more was yet debatable; but an abode nonetheless was shockingly filling her with humungous delight and fright at the same time. Artemis is used to kicking people out of her life; push people away when she doesn't feel deserving but for the first time Artemis was regretting it; Wally has breached her walls without raising an alarm and this was making her anxious and edgy and she was dying to make amends. Wally parked the car in the corner and turned off the ignition. An hour of silent ride was enough for both of them to clear their heads and develop an exit strategy which turns out to be playing it cool for both of them. Just he was about to leave the car, Artemis stopped him, "Wally…I think I might have given you the wrong impression…You had been pretty good friend to me and…I really had a great time…"
Wally cuts her off with a smile, "Ohh….Thank GOD…you enjoyed the kiss. ..because I was totally thinking of getting Lip Augmentation after that…Can't have that department weak…You know…it's Bad for my rep", Wally lessens the tension by joking as Artemis also smiled at that.
"Well…you probably should because frankly…I am getting tired of the shit that comes out of it", Artemis teased him.
"Don't your shit detector get tired of detecting other's shit…Man…What a nasty business to be in…No wonder you stink", Wally said while making a gagging face.
"Well, my BS detector is solar powered…So please don't worry about me…besides I can bet…my stink is still way better than your nasty-ass cologne", Artemis answered with a smile while punching him on the arm. They both sat silently for a while enjoying each other's company.
"Artemis… This is a little weird for me to say…you know but…", Wally struggled to find the correct words.
"But let me guess…you will say it …and it will make me nauseous…So say it anyway…"
"Look…I didn't wanted to complicate things between us…it was just a heat of the moment…a stupid thing to do…I just ….i just wanted to be friends with you….That's all…And with the whole panic attack thing …I thought you could use a bit of good time…Ok"
"So…you kissing me…was your idea of good time…huh", Artemis asked with a raised eyebrow with a mischievous smile.
"Normally…that's my definition of the good time and BTW you responded… but…. I know…it was the bad idea…I shouldn't have done that"
"Wally…just leave it at that and you are right…I should have pushed you away…and ….it was just a meaning less kiss…right…I mean…it's not like we are….", Artemis stopped herself from saying together as Wally jumped in too.
"No…we are not….I mean how could we…right…. So…. "
"Sooo we are good?", Artemis asked hesitatingly.
"Yeah…we are good…", Wally answered as they both looked away from each other still sitting in the car.
"You know I am still waiting for your some sickening inappropriate comment so I could really call it a night and call my ninja boyfriend to carry me there", Artemis said after a while as Wally immediately got her point and get out of the car. He opened her side of door and brought the crutches from the back.
"Well…babe…you must have fallen from the heaven…because that will explain the crutches", Wally said with a smirk as he helped her stand up.
"Ahh…Mr. West has insulted me…Thank god…now my day is officially completed…May you live long enough to fuck yourself", Artemis answered with a smile.
"Damn…I would have expected a make out session …Had that worked", Wally said cockily.
"Had that worked you would have gotten it", Artemis also replied with equal wit and just as she was about to turn away from him he caught her arm and asked.
"You know you still owe me …right…", he asked seriously.
"Don't tell me you want a make out session as a gratitude…", Artemis asked with a raised eye brow.
"No…but I do want you to make a deal with me…Look I don't know that you are pretending that you are fine ….or this whole Copycat killer actually doesn't affect you at all….But I do know that it will hit you…hit you hard… You are gonna go weeks, months even feeling fine…. and then you are gonna have a bad day….Just let me know when you do", He said with absolute solemnity.
"And that's it?", Artemis asked surprised.
"Yeah...That's it"
"Deal", Artemis replied thoughtfully after a while.
"You do have friends Artemis…All you got to do is to trust them", Wally said earnestly and smiled, "Ok then… ", Wally stretched out his hand for the shake as Artemis obliged happily with a smile on her face, "and just so that we don't have any misunderstanding….I take all my dates to hill station", Wally said with a smile.
"So…that was a date….Damn… I didn't notice", Artemis said with a smirk as she see Megan's car enter into the lot, "Please Wally don't dig yourself any deeper and actually call it a night… "
"Yeah….I was just trying to say…please just don't feel special or anything ….because you are not…"
"Do you need a punch to your face or Will you just quit it already…?...GOD you are nutmeat…"

UNKNOWN PLACE
"I feel like I am losing my mind…Tell me he is real…Tell me…", A man begged to the person in front of him to say something, "tell me….", he shouted with all his might. The man sitting in front of him didn't even flinch instead keep on staring at him.
"There is no one here with you, Bill", he answered for him while leaning forward in his chair, "you came here alone….Why don't you drink the water….take a deep breath…Calm yourself, bill", He advised in an emotionless voice.
"You are lying….", Bill said while rubbing his face, fear evident in his eyes, looking like a junkie, "Can't you feel him…he is here with us", At the same moments the light starts flickering, Bill freaked out more going into panic like state, convulsing violently. The man just stayed there looking him like he was entertaining him with his misery. After five minutes, the man sighed and looked to his watch. He slowly got up from his seat and placed one hand behind his head and the other on his eyes. The lights stop flickering and he smiled.
"And WAKE UP", Bill woke up with a shock evident on his face and profound confusion in his eyes. He looked towards the man and he smiled at him, "Well Bill, your therapy goes well today…"
"It did?", he asked surprised.
"Yeah…you almost remembered him…I would advise you to get some sleep today …Okay…It would do wonders for you ... ", Bill nodded with confusion but obliged anyway and got up from his seat to leave.
"So, I will be seeing you next week?...I mean …you are not gonna refer me to another psychologist …please", He asked concerned.
"Bill…you make me curious…I am not referring you to any other doctor…it was a mistake on my behalf…I will not be doing that again", the man answered and Bill smiled not knowing this is gonna be the last sleep he is ever gonna get.

"So, you are going to call him…Right…?", Megan said while clapping her hands cheerfully as she literally jumped on her bed making Artemis groan in annoyance.
"No", Artemis answered with a tone of finality.
"What…Come on you just had a date with him?", Megan argued back.
"It wasn't a date…", Artemis answered a little quickly hoping that she would be let off the hook but to no use.
" …The romantic getaway on the Beacon hill station that involves kissing … Hello Artemis, it's the definition of Date", Megan smiled, "Seriously Artemis…you guys will have the cutest babies in the world…", Megan answered as she observed her from head to toe.
"Megan….Don't insult my baby factory…", Artemis replied and put a hand around her stomach and faked the pained expression, "See my ovary did a flip right now just with the implication…Please don't make me have an early period now"
"Oh…Stop it…You two will do great…You are so passionate and he is so….", Megan zoomed out knowing she might actually not know a thing about him other than that Apparently he just kissed her friend and advised her to take care of her like an overprotective boyfriend in a parking lot; but she didn't have to wait as Artemis poured out his characters for her.
"… arrogant, oversexed, egoistical…."
Artemis was cut off by Megan, "Hot- British dude, with a sexy accent, badge and Gun", Megan said with a smile, "Just your type…A typical Bad boy …huh"
"He is a bit more than that…He is not who I thought he would be…", Artemis answered truthfully yet couldn't hide the disappointment from her voice as she said it, Megan became worried instantly and was at her side in an instant.
"What's wrong? Artemis…", She asked concernedly.
"Megan…It's complicated", Artemis said with a face like she is about to break the news of the death to someone's loved ones, "I let him kiss me…That idiot…I let him….it's a bad thing Megan"
Megan smiled lightly at her friend's antics and said with a laugh, "Wow…I am totally taking you for the CAT_SCAN right now…Artemis…When did kissing become a bad thing…", Megan dramatically placed a hand on her forehead and shook it with grief, "and I wondered why you are single…", Megan declared with a roll of her eyes.
"Ah…Meg…HE is just so maddening, infuriating, annoying, frustrating, sarcastic", Artemis keeps on explaining him with gestures from her hand," …sensitive…caring…concerned…and loving person…"
"Isn't that a good thing?", Megan asked confused as Artemis sighed in return.
"Yes it is a good thing and that's Why…he deserves a better person than me…He made me feel special…made me felt good without even trying ….But…I…just….carry a lot of baggage…, Megan…So much baggage that sometimes… even I find it difficult to find myself…He doesn't need to be a part of it…I just can't…bring him into this too…", Artemis answered while looking down almost ashamed of herself as Megan hugged her as an answer.
"Artemis…I agree…you got tiny issues", Artemis rolled her eyes as Megan continued, "… but don't you think it should be his choice rather than yours", Megan answered with a thoughtful expression.

WALLY'S APPARTMENT

Wally was failing to fall in the sleep; he was glaring the ceiling for a while now. He sighed and silently got up from the bed and moved into the kitchen with a phone in his hand. He took the carton of juice from the fridge while opening up his phone and calling Richard. Richard was sleeping in the Motel Room in South Dakoda; dreaming of Zatanna, when his phone ringed. He dazedly picked up the phone as Wally shouted at the opposite end, "Do you think…that I suck at kissing?"
"No, Zee…you are awesome", Richard answered with a smile but become awake in an instant afterwards, "What?...Who is this?", Richard asked shocked as he fuddled in the dark to find his watch.
"Your sexy girlfriend in a pink underwear…", Wally answered sarcastically, "It's Wally, dude...Now answer my question…I just got rejected because I sucked at kissing", Wally asked while pouting.
"IDK…Dude, you never kissed me… So stop asking me that…", Richard said irritatingly as he looked at the time, "Wally, it's 3:30 in the morning…Are you in an immediate life-threatening situation now?"
Wally took a second to replay and said, "At this precise moment….No…"
"Then I am hanging up…I got schools tomorrow", Richard whined and was about to disconnect when Wally dropped the bomb on him.
"I kissed Artemis", He blurted out suddenly waking him up completely.
"WHAT…You did what?", Richard shouted alerted by the confession.
"I kissed her …you dummy…But it was nothing"
"And you are alive to tell the story?...", Richard asked a bit concerned yet passing it as joke.
"Yes…Does she pass STD through her tongue or Saliva?...because I do felt funny afterwards", Wally joked with a raised eyebrow not realizing he couldn't see him.
Richard snorted and asked, "Dude, I asked about the safety of your balls...Are they intact…Believe me…Best friend or not… I am not helping you with a surgery"
"Bro…so not cool…I would donate my balls for you…", Wally whined like a child, "…But I am okay… and she kissed me back …if it helps", Wally supplied while smiling.
"No… freaking… way…Ok…now ", Richard asked now totally interested in the whole conversation, "Wait…So you fell for her right… I knew it"
"No…I didn't…. ", Wally nearly shouted at the phone but sighed knowing he can't hide something from Dick, "Or….May be….May be it's the side effect of seeing her nearly die…or her body's neurotoxins she is releasing to kill all MAN-species or whatever…But it doesn't matter"
"You kissed her and you are saying…May be?... Or how could you say it doesn't matter", Richard asked a bit agitated at his response.
"Dude….Firstly I kiss a lot of girls…and secondly…She pretty much precluded me…So it's all okay now…I guess", Wally answered flatly.
Richard didn't answered for a while and then asked, "I don't know whether to punch you or hug you right now …So Whelm me dude…What happened?..."
"Well…I totally impressed he r with my erotic charm and she fell for me dude ….Wouldn't be long when we will be christening my new couch and will have cute little babies running around calling you uncle", Wally said with a smile.
"Wally…what really happened?", Richard emphasized as his smile flattened on the other end.
Wally snorted and replied while rubbing hands into his face,"I messed up…Bad...I mean…Everything was okay… At one moment, we were having a good time…and the next moment…we were at each other's throat"
"Dude…Do you meant physically or literally…",Richard complained again while smirking on the other end referring to the fact that kissing also involved being at each other's throat.
Wally sighed and explained after a while, "I didn't know what I thought…Why I did it…She just felt special…. I didn't mean to…I swear… It just happened…it felt right at that moment …and it was totally worth it…But like always…everything has to go opposite with her…I wanted to be clear with her …just wanted to see her happy but… now I think I had dug myself into another undefined murky situation…she kissed me back …you know…she totally crashed my brain hard drive …I was so high… so kicked up ", Wally shook his head and took a five second pause before saying, "… I thought she felt the same way….but she just backed away...didn't say anything to me but… it felt like a mistake…Felt like I had hurt her some way…I didn't even know what went wrong…Later we ended the conversation of just being friends So I guess it's over now so… no worries…right…Richhie …Say something …dude"
"May be you do suck at kissing…", Richard smiled as Wally snorted and answered thoughtfully, "Come on Bro, Don't make assumptions if you don't know the truth…you never know what the next day brings at your door…Who know I might get to see yours and Artemis's cute babies calling me Uncle….", Richard answered with a smile but his smile flattened as he heard the noises at the other end.
"Babe…are you coming or not?", The brunette with whom Wally danced earlier in the club was standing on the door in her underwear and grey undershirt with a raised eyebrow.
"Sorry…Miss. …That's work…got to take it…be right back….", Wally answered while covering the phone with his hand hoping to avoid getting caught as Richard sighed on the other end.
"Who was that?...better question…What was that?", Richard asked annoyed.
"That was jinx…Our Forensics girl…And that my friend is my time for the boost up sex", Wally replied with a smile as he observed her from head to toe.
"Dude…you are impossible"
