Chapter 4
Nico P.O.V.
Ticking Off Opponents
I am really starting to lose patience with Jason Grace. Always messing up my plans for my Leo. The son of Jupiter has known the fire bender longer than I have but I have chemistry with the Latino. I claimed him when I first laid eyes on the son of Hephaestus. He was just so perfect and I had to make him mine. If only I acted sooner, before that bastard Alabaster had the chance. The little son of Hecate thinks he's so cool, because he knows some magic tricks. That's just so fucking impressive. I am a son of the big three. I have control over the underworld and the dead. I have a undead army at my command at any moment. Alabaster's magic is child's play compared to my power. Even with Jason Grace, my power is so much better and stronger than his.
Jason Grace, He thinks he's everything because his father is the ruler of the gods. Well, no one takes him seriously. Even though Zeus is King of the Sky, My father is the King of the Underworld. Everyone, besides the immortals, dies in the end. My dad deals with all the dead people and assigning them to there afterlife. It just simple logic, My father deals with more power than Zeus. All I am saying, is that Hades is more powerful that Zeus and it's a proven fact.
Anyway, Where was I? Oh, that Hecate punk, Alabaster! The little ray of sunshine in the Hecate cabin. Gods, I want to ring his scrawny neck for touching Leo. All I see in Alabaster is a dark, annoying, deceiving, and foul demigod.
Personally, I think Leo goes for the bad boy type. Seriously, Alabaster was a traitor in the war and he does own a motorcycle that the Hephaestus cabin (*Cough...Cough...Leo*) made for him. When the duo started dating, they would go on joy rides in the woods. I have caught them before when I was shadow traveling around the area. It took all the will power not to shadow travel on the bike and push Alabaster off. To take control of the motorbike and ride off into the sunset with Leo.
At least, the two boys aren't dating anymore. Leo dumped poor little Alabaster like a dime. I felt so proud of my little firebug. I know by the way Alabaster looks at Leo, when no one looking, that he still likes Leo. A ghostly fire burns in my gut when I see Alabaster giving Leo those longing looks. I swear, I will tear that wizard apart if he starts crap again. He's on my DEATH LIST, along aside with Jason Grace.
My thoughts of Alabaster were blocking what was going on around me. Here I am following Jason, to Gods knows where, in the woods. My not very thought out plan failed on me, because Grace just had to invite himself and everyone else.
Jason stops by a large crack in the ground I made years ago. The trees crowd us, blocking us from the outside of Camp. Apparently, this is where were going to have our little chat. The atmosphere was full of tension, almost like a dark cloud was above us. I look up into Jason's eyes and see little storms in them. Jason was just as tense as I was. Meaning, One of us is probably going to blow a gasket and I'll be damn if I'm the first one to explode.
A brief silence stays between us for a few minutes. Giving each other heated glares. I glare at Jason, taking in his body language. His body was extremely stiff and stubborn to the moral of falling into a state of ease. Jason's once light sky blue eyes seem not to existed. His eyes were a dark blue that looked like a damaged sky. His nose was held high, trying to show who was more dominant between us. Which, clearly by the way, I am more dominant. His lips were in a disgusted sneer, telling offenders to back off.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Jason shouts, breaking the once awkward silence. Oh, he wants to play the shouting game? Then I am all in for it."WHAT YOU ARE MEANING TO SAY , GRACE, IS THAT WHAT THE HADES ARE YOU DOING?!" I retaliate back with just as much force as Jason's words. Jason's face turns a heated red and the demigod replies "WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSE TO MEAN?!" Gods, I swear, Jason Grace is such a dumb ass. Well, I must be one too, since I'm yelling right along with him.
I take a deep breath and push aside the urge to go back to yelling. "Alright Grace, Let's cut to the chase. I like Leo and you are messing up my chances with being with him. So, back the Hades up!" I growl out, my voice dangerous edging to go back to the screaming state. What is Jason problem!? I am not going to hurt Leo so he needs to stay away.
Jason looked just plain confused. Didn't the jerk know that I was pinning for Leo? Oh Gods, I just told him didn't I? "WHAT?! Your trying to get into my best friend pants!" Jason states back. Really Jason? Oh dear Hades, give me the strength not to punch Leo's Best Friend in the face.
"Yes, I like Leo! I think we've gone over this. You keep pushing yourself into my plans, Grace. Seriously, You just had to include yourself! I wanted to go to movies alone with Leo! Now, I have a shit load of guys coming to a movie that was suppose to be a date! What do you have to say for yourself, Grace!?" I reply. Screw keeping my anger in check, I am telling the son of Jupiter off!
Jason's confusion drifted away and turned into annoyance. His loud tone tuned normal as he voices out his opinion " I have the right to protect my best friend from a dangerous guy, like you. Leo doesn't need you being up in his grill just because you have a minor interest in him. He needs someone to stand by him. Someone that's not going to break his heart!"
That statement tick me off even more. Here's Jason, stating that I would only use Leo to get in his pant and dump him like trash. No, I would NEVER do that! I don't just have a mild interest in Leo, It's so much more than that! I would never just be mildly interested in the fire user, Leo somehow has my heart around his tinkering fingers. He's not just a tool that I would use and dump. I will not stand for this.
" What about you, Jason?! You just use him and then go make out with Piper! I hang out with him and we talk. What have you done lately? I care for him and would never use him like that!" I reply with consideration. Jason looked amazed by my words, realization that they were true. That made Jason even more angry. Which resolved into more screaming.
"THAT'S NOT TRUE! I WOULD NEVER JUST USE LEO LIKE THAT! YOU ARE A LAIR!" Jason shouts out to the sky. He just told me that I would use Leo and I said the same thing to him. Yet, I'm the lair in this. "Whatever Grace, Just stop messing with my plans." I reply back, not believing a word the Pikachu has said. Jason gives a dark sneer, mumbling "No."
"Do you like him or something?" I ask, changing the topic. Wanting to get a reasonable answer. All the time, Jason is sucking face with Piper, and now he wants to stop Leo from having a wonderful relationship with me. I have noticed the way Jason has lingered more close to Leo and I am NOT happy about it. I am putting the lightning bolt on the spot, so he has to answer.
"No, I do NOT! He's my best friend." Jason declares with a shaken voice. Clearly, my words had a effect on him. He knew he was lying and I knew it to. Well, that answered my question. I have valuable knowledge so why not use it. "Of course you don't. Now, if you will excuse me, I have to get ready for a night out with the guys." I mumble with sarcasm. Moving quietly under a tree for shade.
Before Jason could say another word, I shadow travel out the area. As I shadow travel, my body reacts to the movement. My whole body is engulfed in a hot heat. The warmth ended when I finished shadow traveling. I was now at the Hades Cabin, meaning I am at my dark cabin that I have named my home. Other campers usually stay away from my cabin, but I really don't mind.
I put my hand under my torn up shirt and yank the silver key off the chain to open my cabin. I had to add locks to my cabin because the Stoll brothers think it's funny to prank me. So, Chiron got Leo to make me a unbreakable lock and a key to match. I pull out the key and unlock my guarded house.
When I enter the cabin, I nearly have a heart attack. There stood my half-sister Hazel with Jason's girlfriend, Piper. They were standing by my unmade black covered twin size bed. My plain red lamp was turn on, the only thing giving off light since my gothic curtains were covering the windows. I watch the two girls twitch in nervousness. I really don't want to talk to Piper, after having that emotional shouting fest with Jason. Yet, The quicker I talk to them, the more likely they will leave.
"What do you want?" I sigh out, truly tired of people in general. Hazel quickly looks at Piper than back at me. She quickly states "Nico, I wanted to help you get a outfit for the movies tonight with the guys. I decided that Piper would be a big help." I felt shocked, at the same time confused.
The only person that knew about my feelings towards Leo (besides Jason now) is Hazel. The daughter of Pluto, somehow squirmed her way into making me tell her. Hazel's golden puppy dog eyes were hard to say no to. Hazel promised that she wouldn't tell a soul about my crush, including Piper McLean.
By the look on the girl's faces, there was no backing out of this.
"You have got to be kidding me?!" I mumbled out quietly. I nod in agreement, not wanting to fight the duo. They smile in delight and start looking around for a drool worthy outfit.
I sit in my black leather chair and watch them ransack my closet. All my clothes were tossed around and I hope they knew that there cleaning this up. I admit, My cabin wasn't in the cleanest shape earlier today, but now it looked like a train crashed into my room. I think if I look hard enough through the clothes, I would probably find a dead body. I don't think anyone would be surprise by that fact.
"We have made the best outfit and You will LOVE it!" Piper nearly shouts, letting her mother's side take over a little. I walk over to the neatly laid outfit on my wooden desk. The top was a black collared long sleeved shirt with white buttons. The undershirt was a simple grey short sleeve t-shirt, with black skulls all over. There was also a pair of black jeans with slash marks all over. A pair of black and red converses where on the floor with a pair of red matching socks. Last, but not least, there was a pair of black gloves and a a black stud for my pierce ear. When I was fourteen, I talked Percy into letting me get my ear pierced after the war.
"Go ahead! Change into it and meet us outside!" Piper stated happily. Yup, She was definitely letting her mom's side show. The two girls walk out my cabin and wait on my porch while I change. I slip everything off and try my new outfit on.
I walk over to my long mirror in the corner that I never use. I usually pass by the mirror because I have never really liked the way I looked. Yet, when I walk over there this time, I let out a gasp. I look incredible. My shirts make me look loose and sexy. My jeans cling in all the right places. Making my toned legs show off as well as my bottom. The earring shows off my badness and gave a expression of "You Can Look but NO touching or it will be your death."
"Hurry up di Angelo! I don't have all day. Come out here so we can see!" Piper called out from the porch. I hear a agreeing grunt from Hazel. I smirk and walk out my cabin with my head held high. I looked awesome and I am not letting anything get to me.
The girls gasp in shock and glee. I think the outfit pleases them as well. "You look incredible!" Hazel nearly shouts. Excitement showing in her bright golden eyes. Piper nods in agreement with the biggest smile on her face.
"When will the guys be going to the movies? What movie is it?" Piper asked me. I realize that I didn't give a specific time or the title of the movie we are going to watch. Darn it! I am screwing up again.
Hazel saves me (as usual) by mumbling " I heard for Frank that there going to the six o'clock movie. Nico gets to pick the movie." We are going to watch a Horror Movie. That way, I can get close to Leo when he gets scare. I can be a hero and comfort him. Meaning, awesome physical contact with Leo. Yup, definitely going to watch a horror movie.
"What time is it?" I ask Hazel. I'm so excited for the movie that I want it to be now! We did sleep in and had a late breakfast. So, It can't be extremely early. " Chill Nico, It's Noon. you have a few hours to go do something else." Hazel replies. I nod and say good bye to the girls. I need to see a certain centaur that will hopeful give me and a few demigods access to leave camp, to hang out in the world filled with mortals.
I made it to the big house and waited a hour for Chiron to show up. Apparently, he was teaching a archery class and I had to wait for him to finish. Waiting for Chiron, was driving me crazy with adrenalin. I start to twitch and tap my foot with boredom. I sit down on the porch, and whistle a song tune. I hate waiting. "Hey Nico di Angelo, fancying meeting you here." a voice from behind whispers in a husky voice. I jump at the tone of tension and turn to face Alabaster Torrington.
Alabaster was also dressed out in beat up jeans and a green muscle shirt. He had a brown jacket on covering most of his shirt. He wore a golden chain necklace with a protective symbol on the end. Both his ears had green gages and his right ear had a gold hoop on the top. He wore some brown converses with golden laces. So, Piper probably got ahold of all the guys coming tonight. Meaning, Leo will be dressed out in tight jeans. Oh gods, I am so going to have to control myself from jumping my poor firebug.
He had a smirk on his lips, taking in my state of discomfort. "What? Did I scare the emotionless ghost king? The poor thing, do you need to run back to daddy?" Alabaster giggles out. Showing that he was testing me, wanting me to get angry at him. I will not play into someone hands. Nope, not going to happen. I calmly laugh and Alabaster gives me a confused look. It was rather funny that he didn't know that I was thinking about his Ex-boyfriend in tight denim jeans. He thought I was shaken up by him popping out of nowhere.
"What?" Alabaster asks, annoyed that he didn't get to push any of my buttons. "Nothing, What are you here, anyway?" I ask the male in front of me. He frowns and replies " I need to talk to Chiron about leaving camp for the movies tonight." "I thought your not allowed to leave camp?" I ask, wanting this conversation to hurry along. "I am allowed to leave camp but I need a guardian to make sure I come back. I need to tell Chiron though so he can assigned one of the boys to look out for me. Most likely it will be Leo." Alabaster mumbles with glee.
I don't like that idea at all. Alabaster getting close to Leo and having a excuse to do it. Um NO, not going to happen. " I'll be your guardian and keep you out of trouble." I state, catching the teen of guard. He opens his mouth in surprise and shuts it again. He's shocked face turns devious, replying " Are you scared that I'll take the guy you are pinning after? Huh Nico, What makes you think your any good for Leo? He deserves someone who loves him and will take care of him. I'm perfect for Leo so you need to buzz off, Death Breath."
My breathing goes rigid at his words. HOW DARE HIM! Before I could claw Alabaster's eyes out, Chiron comes into view. He steps in between us with a sweet smile. "Hello boys, I heard that you wanted to speak with me. Let's sit down and talk." Chiron says as he gallops over to the card table. Chiron sits down and his horse backside disappears. We sit down as well and glare at each other. Seeing who would dare to speak first.
"Chiron, I want to ask if I can take the guys to a movie tonight and borrow the van. I swear, nothing will happen to the van and we will be back before midnight." I reply to Chiron. My Camp Director looks at me and sighs deeply. I know in that moment that he would let me do it because he was sighing in defeat. He trusts me and I am glad to uphold that trust.
"Alright, Nico di Angelo,You may do so and borrow the van." Chiron mumbles with a small centaur turns to Alabaster and raises a eyebrow. " You want to go as well don't you?" Chiron states. Alabaster nods and the older man sighs again. " You know the rule Torrington, You must have a guardian with you. Who's going to be your supervisor?" Chiron asks. Alabaster was about to reply but someone else beats him to the pulp. An it wasn't even me. "I will supervise him!" A voice from behind us says.
I turn around for the second time today and face a pleasant sight. There stood Leo Valdez with a grin. He was wearing a orange collared button down shirt with a red polo underneath showing off his lean muscles. The muscles that he received from working so hard in the bunker. Before, You could barely tell if he was just skin and bones. Now, you can see a nice outline that wasn't overbearing but just perfect for Leo.
Don't even get me started on the skinny jeans the son of Hephaestus was wearing. They were extremely tight in all the right places and I wanted to rip them right off. He had red converses on and a golden chain around his neck. The charm on his necklace was a gold skull with red ruby eyes. I smirk at the necklace, knowing Hazel put my symbol on purpose. To show me that I would make Leo Valdez mine no matter what.
"Alright , You are responsible of watching over." Chiron says, taking me out of my daze. I wipe the drool creeping on my chin and state "Um, Leo, I think I should supervise Alabaster since I offered the movie night out. I don't want to force the responsibility on you." Everyone's head turns towards me and I notice Leo's expression. He seemed shock that I was offering to do something and actually wanting to be nice. I can be nice, I am just dripping with kindness.
"That is a reasonable solution. Alabaster, Nico will be your guardian until you return to camp. Now, If you will excuse me boys, I must return to the Archery Range for my next class." Chiron says as he stands up again. He nods goodbye to us and heads to a random direction. I look at Alabaster and smile declaring a win for me. Leo looks at me with confusion and shakes it off.
"Alright then, I have to go help some Hermes kids with a prank. I'll see you two boys at six by the van. I'll spread the word to the guys." Leo mumbles and he turns away. I watch him as he walks towards the direction of the Hermes cabin. His hips were swaying side to side and I felt a heated growl in my chest. Definitely, Leo Valdez is all mine and I have no attention of sharing.
"Easy Death Breath, you can't attack him in public. Believe me, I totally know the feeling myself. Leo is to sexy for his own good and he doesn't even know about it." Alabaster mutters. Clearly, pissed off about losing Leo as his supervisor. I frown at the mention of Alabaster having a go at Leo in the past. At least Alabaster was right about one thing, My firebug doesn't know how amazing and sexy he is.
"Your just upset that you can't get your greed hands on Valdez. Do you need to run your mommy?" I mumble sarcastically. Ah Karma, I love you so freaking much. Alabaster snorts in anger and replies "Whatever di Angelo, In the end, I always get my man. See you later." Alabaster runs away before I could swing at him.
With the evil male model gone, I could final think correctly. I need to look the movies up that are playing at the theater and see which one is the scariest. I'll probably use Annabeth's computer to look it up. Operation Cuddling Leo Valdez is a go.
