Chapter 5

Leo P.O.V.

Popcorn Explosion

You can say that I am rather surprised with Nico di Angelo. Taking responsibility of watching Alabaster like that. Usually, the emo would hate to have responsibility of someone other than himself. I just figured Nico was that type of guy.

You know, the bad boy that only cares for himself. The type of guy that would trade all his cash for a pack of cigarettes. Apparently, Nico wasn't a negative type. Maybe, he's the hard on the outside, but soft on the inside type. Oh gods, Nico is a copy of Frank!

Bad mental image.

Anyway, Why is he clouding my thoughts? Why am I thinking about how those jeans that looked so good on him? Thinking of the way his curly black hair sticks out, like he just rolled out of bed from a great night of aggressive cuddling? Ah! It's so confusing! How am I suppose to feel? For Apollo's sake, this boy is blackmailing me! Yet, I feel so much warmer than usual around him.

Oh NO! I am falling for him! NO! I just can't like him. With the way he's treated me, that would make me a masochist. Am I a masochist? Nope, I am NOT going to keep thinking about this. I am dropping this!

I cut off my thoughts completely and start to come across the Zeus cabin. The cabin was all high and mighty, scaring off campers easily. Truth be told, it intimates me all the time to just step to the door. I shake off my nerves and walk up to the door. I get ready to knock on the door, but I stop in mid air.

The sounds of shouting comes from the other side of the door. I could easily tell that it was Jason doing the shouting. What has him all angry and fluster? I put my right ear to the door and listen in quietly.

At first, I couldn't make out a single word being spoken. I press up my whole body even more to get a better position. The quiet noise becomes louder. I could make out a few words like "Nico", "Likes" and "Leo". What could that mean?

I press as hard as I can against the door. "Nico can't like Leo, it's a trick! He's only after Leo because he can't have Percy. That's probably it. But, what if Nico really does like Leo?" Jason shouts to himself. Finally! I could understand more than a few words.

Wait a minute, Nico likes me? Really? Does he think of me, like I think of him? Gods, it's so hard to deal with emotions. I wish I didn't have any feelings and I could be emotionless, like one of my machines. Emotions are so high maintenance!

"What am I going to do? Leo is MY friend and nobody else's! I can't just forbid him from having other friends." Jason adds on to his last comment. "That sounded a little possessive." I think to myself, after hearing that rather disturbing comment.

"I know! I'll ruin the movie for Leo and blame it on Nico!" Jason shouts in glee. Wait a darn second, surely Jason wouldn't stoop that low? Would He?

I take my body away from the door, and bolt away from the cabin. A billion of thoughts running through my mind. Is Jason really that deceitful? Does Nico actually like me? Is this all a joke? Because if it is, I sure as Hades won't be the foul.

I growl quietly at the idea of the whole night being a big joke. I push past any camper that gets in my way, as I walk to my cabin.

I admit, it's mean to shove past people, but can you blame me. I am so angry, that I want to explode. Who plays with someone's mind like that? I'll mess up the whole night and blame it on Nico! Who the Hades does that!? Apparently, Jason Grace does!

The cabin that my mind was set on appears. The breath that I was holding in, comes out with ease. My cabin is a safe haven for any camper, it brings shivers to your bones. Our cabin is just that awesome.

I walk into my cabin and head straight to my station/bedroom. I could hear Jake and Shane, fusing about what substance to use to make a canon. Personally, I would go with Celestial Bronze.

Shane and Jake are my brothers, along with Harley, Chris, and a few others. Nyssa is just one of my sisters, but she has a more serious bond with me. She's always there when you need her and she would kick anyone's ass if I just asked. Good thing I kinda like Nico, huh.

Shane hears me walk in and past there range of shouting. He stops shouting and nods towards my direction to Jake. Jake smiles a crooked grin with his pearl whites showing. They walk over to my domain and jump me.

I shout out in surprise and fall on my bed with my two older brothers on me. "Shane! Jake! Get off me!" I shout out, trying to squirm away from the extra weight on me. "Nope." Jake mumbles out quietly. "Fine! I give up!" I shout in surrender.

My brothers finally release me from their death grip. Jake quietly says a quick sorry, while Shane giggles like a demon.

"So HEAD CONSULAR, what have you been up to?" Shane says with sarcasm in his voice. I smile with a nervous shake.

"I've been busy with a lot of stuff." I reply slowly. "Oh really, You mean you've been busy with Alabaster!" Jake says slowly. I felt myself blushing bright and trying to hold in the cough forming in my throat. "Umm, What?" I reply. Trying really hard to wrap around what he just said.

"Are You Still Hanging Out With Alabaster?" Shane mumbled. Clearing my two older brothers got the wrong idea. "Yes, but I swear, we are NOT dating! We are just friends!" I reply. "Alright Leo, Whatever you say." Jake replied softly, not believing a word I just said.

"Why are you here, Leo? I thought you were with Chiron talking about your night out. If I didn't have to finish this project then I would come along." Shane says with a disappoint voice.

Truth be told, I am glad my brothers aren't going. Do you know how weird it is to have your older brothers watching you like a Hawk!? I love my brothers and sisters, but they are over the moon in protectiveness. They make a momma grizzly bear look like child's play. Our whole cabin, literature hanging on the moral "All for One, And One for All". We depend on each other, but my brothers may have way to short of a leash on me.

"Shane, you won't be missing out on much! Stop being such a baby, and show me your project!" I blurt out. I just want the attention off me, Jake's eyes are scary.

"Alright, but it's only a demo." Shane mumbles. "That's fine Shane, Just show us your project." Jake says. Jake and I follow Shane as he walks to his room in the cabin. Shane slams the door open, like it was made of aluminum.

We walk over to a covered table, filled with tools and blueprints.

"Umm, what are we looking at again?" Jake ask with mild worry. In the dead middle of the table, was a bunch of wires and a metal steam punk looking hat. "I call it "C.O.R.N", "Current Operation Ready Nutrient". Shane says with glee.

What? "It's corn?" I asked with a dumbfound face. What the Hades does it even do? "No! Ahh, Whatever. It makes popcorn from inside the hat. So, you can wear to the movies and have free popcorn!" Shane says with pride.

I don't think it be a good idea. What if I over heat myself and catch on fire? You would have a bunch of burnt popcorn everywhere. Believe me, burnt popcorn smells horrid. That stink would take hours to go away.

"I don't think that's a good idea." I say slowly, not wanting to hurt Shane's feelings. "What! Come on! I'm going to turn it on and show you!" Shane replies. Shane flips a switch on the hat, that I didn't notice before, on. The hat lights up like a firework and started making popcorn.

Shane's smile was a mile wide, but it didn't last long. The hat started making more popcorn and I started to back up towards the door. Jake stood in his original spot and had a confused face. All I know is that things are about to turn really bad, extremely fast.

The hat started to smoke and Shane began to curse like a sailor. I bend down and cover my hands to my head, protecting my gorgeous face. Jake follows my example and bends down. The hat explodes with a bang! The whole area was covered with the weird buttery slime and the smell of burnt popcorn filled the air.

Poor Shane got the worst of it. His whole face and body was covered with burnt popcorn. His eyes were close, but I could feel the anger coming off him.

I coughed for a second and then started laughing like a mad man. I just couldn't help it. Shane's face was to ridiculous to pass up. I could see Jake trying to hold in his laughter. Shane looks angry at me for a few seconds, then a grin covers his face.

He scoops some burnt popcorn off his face and slings it towards me. I let out a manly shriek and duck. The popcorn hits Jake right in the face. I laugh even harder than before, with Shane laughing along with me. Jake smirks and tackles Shane to the ground.

They laugh and start to loosely punch each other. I laugh a little more, leaving through the door. Not wanting anything to get on my clothes, because Piper would have a Aphrodite fit. Believe me, that would not end good.

I go back to my room and locked the door. I push all the loose blueprints on my bed off. I jump into my bed and crawl into my comfy spot. I think a nap would be a perfect way to get the time to hurry up. Besides, I already set an alarm earlier to remind me of the movie night.

I close my eyes and started to count. It helps me fall asleep with ease. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10…

I could hear banging across the room. I open my eyes and stretch my arms out like cat. I hop off the bed and walk to the door. I open the door to face Nico di Angelo. He was leaning against the door frame with his arm up. How the Hades did he get so tall?

"Hey, it's time to go." Nico says with a smug expression. That little ass don't know who he's messing with. I'll show him. I smirk and grab his shirt. Bringing him down to my eye level.

I put my lips close to his ears and whispers "Okay, big boy. Let's go." Nico shivers at my sweet tone. I walk past him, giggling to myself. His face was the best. Nico was blushing so bad and his eyes filled with lust. It looked freaking delicious.

Yet, He has to prove to me that he actually likes me. Jason doesn't think Nico likes me at all. Only out to use me like a toy. I won't let it happen.

Nico di Angelo has this one chance, tonight, to prove he really does have feelings for me. Let's not forget, Jason. His little plan will not get in the way. It's my decision to choose who I like, not my best friend's decision.

I am ready for this night. Nothing can get in the way of tonight. I need to make a decision and I know it will change my life completely.
