Gavyn shuffled back to his quarters, it had been a long time since he had gotten a decent night's rest. As he was walking out of the infirmary, he heard a familiar voice- one that stood out against every other identical voice in the legion.

"I'm fine, just lay off!" Ace said, struggling to untangle himself from a medical droid. A smile fluttered over Gavyn's lips. "No injuries, I swear." Ace argued, backing away, and holding out his hands defensively.

"It's just worried about your face." Gavyn teased, catching Ace's attention. The clone grinned back knowingly and joined Gavyn to leave the medbay. "So I take it you're feeling better?" He started. It was easier than jumping into questions about what he went through, and how he had missed him so much.

Ace tugged the collar of his casual clothes. At the very least the medbay had given him some clean gear and a chance to warm up. "Yeah, no frostbite as bad as the kid." The clone shook his head. "Did he tell you that he was out for hours looking for Sparks?"

"No. What happened?" Gavyn asked, his brows furrowing.

"Fell into a crevasse or something. Never found him, poor guy." Ace sighed.

Gavyn nodded gravely. Maybe he should have tried to be more understanding, talking to Tyro. He had been so worried about how Tyro reacted to he and Ace, that he had forgotten to even ask how the boy was doing. The day would have come sooner or later that Tyro would lose a soldier. To have it happen like this, with so much at once... Gavyn didn't want this for him. Tyro was a good Jedi though, and he'd find a way to work through it.

When Gavyn reached his quarters, Ace slipped inside. They practically shared it at this point. Ace's officially assigned bunkmate had no complaints about a room to himself, and so they didn't worry about the news travelling up the chain of command.

Letting himself fall into the bed, Ace buried his face into a pillow. Gavyn shrugged off his robe and tossing it over the back of the chair. He laid next to Ace until the clone curled up next to him.

Ace took a deep breath, finally letting his shoulders relax, as Gavyn kissed them gently. He turned over, his smile widening as he looked over Gavyn properly for the first time in days.

"You alright?" Gavyn asked, carefully.

"I missed you."

Cupping Ace's head in his hand, Gavyn kissed him sweetly. If Ace wasn't joking around, then it meant that it meant a lot to him. "I'm right here."

"Mmm. And so warm too." Ace teased. "I could have used three of you stuck in that ship."

Gavyn chuckled, squeezing him tighter until his his thoughts drifted away into sleep.
