Chapter 11: Valentine's Day
Flashback
"Hey, so what are you planning to give for your boyfriends?" A high school student girl said to one of her friends that stand in front of her. She and her two friends were huddled in a circle on the wall while each of them had a smile on their faces, fully knowing what day it is today.
"Chocolates, of course! I'm going to make them all by myself without any help. I'm a pretty good cook, you know?" Her friend asked as her two other friends shook her heads at her.
"Really? I think I remember someone nearly burn their stove while making a soup last year." One of her two friends said with a laugh, followed by the other girl.
"Hey! That was last year, okay?! I didn't know you had to wait ten minutes for the soup…" She said with pout while she crossed her arms.
"And not sit on your couch while watching TV for an hour!" One of her friends exclaimed with a laugh.
"Anyway…" The girl said as her other two friends look at her. "Are you going to give your chocolates to your boyfriends, too?" She asked as her friends faced each other before looking at her.
"Yeah. And since we know how to make a valentine chocolate, we're all set to make it after we get back to our homes." Her friend said to her.
"What are they talking about?" Asuna asked in curiosity as she watched the three friends talking about making a chocolate for their boyfriends.
"Valentine chocolates…?" Asuna asked in thought as her eyes widen in shock, forgetting that tomorrow was Valentine's Day. "How can I forget?" Asuna asked with closed eyes as she forgotten all about Valentine's Day, to which it was a day to give Valentine's chocolates to the person you love. And in her case, she had forgotten about the special day which she wants to give her Valentine chocolate to her crush, Sakamaki Izayoi. After she visited his home since a week ago, she was thinking about Canaria's words to her about Izayoi's feelings. She was concern that Izayoi didn't feel the same way she does, but after Canaria told her that he does have feelings for her, she felt extremely happy. But she wants to find out for herself and the way to find out is asking Izayoi if he like her. She doesn't know about love, but all she knows that whenever Izayoi was next to her or whenever he was around her, it made her feel safe and happy at the same time. She doesn't know where all of these feelings came from but she guessed it was after she was nearly rape, much to her discomfort of remembering the past event.
But little by little and day after day, she slowly forget the event from being with Izayoi every day, much to her happiness and slight joy. When she recalled about the rape event about a month ago, she was untouchable to boys because she remember that one of the thugs stripped her out of her school uniform which made her frighten of their touch. Sometimes, she would run towards the girl's toilet to clear her mind and from the prying hands of the boys. And when she was in the toilet, she would shed a few tears and remind herself that she was an idiot for recalling the nearly rape scene in her mind.
Flashback…
"…Why? Why can't I just forget it? Why?" Asuna asked herself standing in front of the mirror while she was inside the girl's toilet room. She looked at herself in the mirror, seeing a few tears fell across her cheeks and into the sink below her.
Asuna shake her head a few times before she stop and slowly clutched her head with both of her hands. She then slowly fell to the ground while clutching her head, "Forget it, forget it, forget it… Please, forget it." Asuna repeated in her mind with closed eyes as she tried to forget the bad event that always came and repeated itself in her mind.
"Ugh… Why…?" Asuna asked herself as she sniffed a few times, trying to get her tears from falling from her teary eyes. "Help me, Izayoi-kun…" Asuna mutters under her breath as she grabbed both of her shoulders and stay in her position.
"Are you done crying?" A voice asked startling Asuna, who turn her head at the door, seeing Izayoi walked inside the toilet.
"Izayoi-kun?" Asuna called out as Izayoi walked towards her and knelt in front of her.
"Yeah, it's me." Izayoi answered with a smile, as Asuna swung herself at Izayoi, wrapping her arms around Izayoi's neck while she cried on his left shoulder. "It's okay. I'm here." Izayoi comforted as he hug her back by wrapping his hands around her while she cried.
"I-I'm sorry, Izayoi-kun… I-I can't help it…" Asuna sobbed as Izayoi listen to her. "Ever since that day, I can't help remember that I was nearly rape… I just can't help it! That day always keeps repeating in my head and I-I don't k-know how to stop i-it…" Asuna said through her sobs.
"Don't worry about that now… I'm here. So, just think what makes you happy for starters, alright?" Izayoi asked with a small smile as Asuna think about Izayoi instead of the rape event. When she thought about Izayoi, she instantly held a smile under the fabric of Izayoi's uniform. She recalled the memories when he saved her from those thugs, and then she recalled Izayoi being in the same class as her, which caused her to smile. After that, she recalled the memory of Izayoi walking next to her in the school hallways, much to her happiness. She then recalled that she hugged Izayoi after her first exam text last week, and showing him that she got an A on her test.
When she thought all about those recent memories about Izayoi, she was grateful that she had a friend like him. And slowly her feelings for him were growing little by little, to which she noticed as her heartbeat quickens from hugging Izayoi. But then she thought all about the memories and slowly she started to drift off to sleep, causing her heartbeat to slow down a bit.
"Thank you…" Asuna mutters as Izayoi glanced at her. "Izayoi-kun…" She finishes as she drifted off to sleep as Izayoi heard her peaceful breathing from his ear and he allowed a smile to appear on his face.
"Good night, Asuna."
Present
After her time with Izayoi ended, she was immediately carried to the infirmary to sleep. When she woke up from her sleep, she noticed that Izayoi had been sitting next to her, reading a book in his left hand while the other was holding onto the cup of water as he took a sip before putting it back onto the desk beside him.
When Izayoi noticed her, he greeted her with one of his smiles that she likes. And she would never forget that day when she finally realized her feelings for Izayoi and the time when he comforted her in the girl's toilet.
"Asuna, what are you doing?" A voice asked startling Asuna from her thought as she looked in front of her, seeing Izayoi with a curious look on his face.
"Huh? N-Nothing." Asuna answered, not wanting to tell him about Valentine's Day.
"Hmm… Really?" Izayoi asked as a smirk appeared on the corner of his lips.
"Yes." Asuna answered as she glance sideways avoiding eye contact with Izayoi.
"Hm… Okay. Anyway, shouldn't we get to our class? I think it started ten minutes ago." Izayoi said pointing his thumb behind him, where their class was being taught.
"What?! Why didn't you tell me earlier? We're going to miss it!" Asuna said as she immediately grasp Izayoi's right hand and dragged him to the direction of the class.
"Huh… can't we just skip it? It's not like we can't skip class at all." Izayoi said lazily as Asuna wore a small smile at Izayoi's attitude.
"We'll be in trouble if we skip class, Izayoi-kun. You know that, right?" Asuna asked glancing from the corner of her eyes at Izayoi, who was running behind her.
"I know. Can't we break the rules just once? I think I'm going to sleep through the rest of the class if I keep coming to school." Izayoi said as Asuna smiled.
"But I'm in this school. So, you can't be bored while I'm here, right?" Asuna asked as Izayoi's eyes widen slightly and a smile appeared on his face.
"Yeah. You're the only one thing that is fun when I'm going to this school. So, I'll keep coming if you come to school every day." Izayoi answered with a smile.
"I-If I didn't come to school for a day, will you come instead?" Asuna asked as Izayoi let out a smirk.
"If you didn't come then, why should I go to school? I don't care if the teachers scold me or something. If you go to school, I'll go." Izayoi answered.
"How do you know if I can't come to school?" Asuna asked slowing down their pace as she slowly walk through the hallway while still grasping Izayoi's right hand in hers.
"That's easy. I'll skip the rest of the school day." Izayoi simply answered as Asuna stopped her slow walking and stand still while Izayoi look at her with a raised eyebrow.
"I-If that's true, then I-I'll come every day to school from now on." Asuna stated looking down at the floor while her face was completely red from embarrassment, from telling Izayoi these words that come out of her mouth. "S-So, you should come every day to school too, okay, Izayoi-kun?" Asuna asked as Izayoi's eyes slightly widen in surprise and then his eyes soften as a smile appeared on his face.
"As I said, if you come, I'll come. It's as simple as that." Izayoi answered causing a smile to appear on Asuna's face but then her eyes widen, realizing the quiet place and quiet situation they were in. Not to mention that she finally realized the words that came out of her mouth earlier, which caused her face to turn red again.
"W-Well then, let's go to class before we get scolded." Asuna said as she continued to drag Izayoi to the class while she kept looking down, not wanting Izayoi to see her red face. While she was dragging Izayoi to class, she kept thinking at the back of her mind on how she could make a valentine chocolate for Izayoi on Valentine's Day tomorrow.
After School…
Izayoi stood up from his seat as he picked his bag up from his seat and swung it over his shoulder. He then looked at the sun setting through the windows as he stared at the orange sun.
"Izayoi-kun?" Asuna called out behind him, as Izayoi turn around and looked at her.
"Yeah? What is it, Asuna?" Izayoi asked.
"I'm here to say goodbye before I go home. I have a lot of work to do tonight and I'm not going to rest until I'm finish with it." Asuna explained as Izayoi raised his eyebrow at her.
"What work?" Izayoi asked curiously.
"Just some work that I have to do myself. Don't worry about me, I can handle it. Anyway, see you tomorrow, Izayoi-kun!" Asuna said with a smile as she turns around and left the classroom, leaving Izayoi to stand in the classroom staring at where Asuna left.
"Is it that important of a work?" Izayoi asked himself as he shrug his shoulder and walked outside the classroom and then step outside the school's double door. He looked at Asuna, who was opening a door to her father's car before she step inside and closed the door. Izayoi smiled as Asuna waved at him goodbye, to which he waves back in return. After he waved goodbye, the car drove off from the school as Izayoi walked through the school's gate and look left and then right, looking for any cars that would cross the street. When he didn't see any, he crossed the street and walked back to his house.
Asuna's Home
Night
"Asuna, what are you doing?" Her father, Shouzou asked seeing Asuna pulling out three chocolate bars from the refrigerator. He then saw she was breaking apart the chocolates and dropped them into a pot.
"I'm making chocolate." Asuna answered with a smile as she read the contents inside a cookbook that lay on the kitchen's desk. She read the ingredients that were necessary twice, before checking the ingredients that she had now and she was relieved that she had everything according to the ingredients to make chocolates.
"What chocolate are you making?" Shouzou asked as Asuna put the pot into the microwave and pushed a few buttons to heat up the chocolate, knowing that the chocolate will melt by the temperature that she set.
"Just chocolates. Not actual chocolates, Otou-sama." Asuna said as Shouzou nodded in understanding but he still was curious on what chocolate she was making. But he decided not to question any further after seeing her daughter's determine face. Once she was finished, she look at his father, who adopted a curious look.
"Why are you making chocolates?" Shouzou asked.
"It's for tomorrow." Asuna answered silently hope that her father wouldn't take noticed that tomorrow was Valentine's Day.
"Hmm... Tomorrow, okay." Shouzou said with a thoughtful look. He then look at her daughter and walked out of the kitchen, leaving Asuna to stare at him in confusion.
"That was close..." Asuna said with a relieved sigh. Suddenly, a beeping sound could be heard from the microwave as Asuna raced towards the microwave, but not before wearing a pair of kitchen gloves. She then open the lid to the microwave and pulled out the pot with both of her hands. After she pulled out the pot, she walked over to the kitchen table and set the pot onto the table, smiling at the melting chocolate that was in the pot. She then walked over to the microwave and closed the lid with her right hand before she went to the kicthen table and take off her gloves, leaving it on the pot beside her.
"Now, to stuff the chocolate and then I'm done..." Asuna said with a smile, hoping inside that Izayoi will like her chocolates for Valentine's Day.
"I hope you like it, Izayoi-kun..." Asuna mutters with a smile.
Izayoi's Home
"Might I ask, what are you doing now?" Canaria asked looking at Izayoi, who was laying on the couch with his arms behind his head while he look at the television.
"Watching TV." Izayoi simply answered with a smile.
"Shouldn't you be doing something else rather than watching TV? Do you know what tomorrow is?" Canaria asked with a raised eyebrow as Izayoi smirked.
"I know." Izayoi answered.
"So? Shouldn't you be making your famous chocolate cookies?" Canaria asked.
"Famous?" Izayoi asked looking at his mother.
"The kids at the orphanage center said that. I heard that you've been coming to the orphanage center lately. Was that your fifth visit this year?" Canaria asked with a smile.
"Fourth." Izayoi answered as he stood up and stretches himself.
"They've been quite close to you. I hope you visit them a lot more." Canaria said as Izayoi smiled at her.
"Don't worry. I'll visit them, once a week." Izayoi said putting a smile on Canaria's face. "Anyway, I want the 'famous' cookies to be hot than cold tomorrow." Izayoi stated as Canaria look at him.
"You know you have to wake up early than you plan, right?" Canaria asked as Izayoi walked past her.
"It's just this one day." Izayoi answered with a smirk on the corner of his lips as he walked upstairs to sleep early.
Canaria shook her head in amusement, glancing at where Izayoi left before she closed the lights to the living room and went upstairs to go to sleep for tomorrow.
"The two of them will be happy together... Izasuna." Canaria mutters with a small smile as she went inside her room and sleep, dreaming about a couple with a small little girl grasping each of her parent's hands while the couple smiled at her which caused her to smile at them.
Morning...
Canaria wakes up from her sleeps stretches herself before standing up from her bed and walked outside from her room. When she step outside, she smell something delicious coming from the kitchen which enlightens a smile to play on her lips. She then walked downstairs and heads towards the kitchen to which she can smell the strong delicious smell of chocolate getting closer as she step inside the kitchen.
"Aren't you waking up late this morning?" Izayoi commented as he slide down the chocolate chip cookies inside a brown paper bag and he rolled the top of the paper bag until it was enough to not let any air inside the bag to which it can ruin the cookies by making it soft.
"Don't worry, I can tell my client that I ran a little bit late. That isn't a problem. Because I want to see the first time my sharp tongue son making chocolate chip cookies to give to a certain person he loves on Valentine's Day. This moment right her, is unforgettable to me." Canaria said as Izayoi walked to stand in front of his mother and stuck a chocolate chip cookie halfway in Canaria's mouth.
"Delicious." Canaria commented as she flavor the taste of chocolate melting in her mouth. She take the half eaten cookie from her mouth as she waited for the cookie to be digested.
"Thanks. Anyway, I'll be going, Kaa-san." Izayoi said walking past her as he opens the front door and step outside the house to head towards his school.
"Don't make the cookies yourself and eat it. You get yourself fat!" Izayoi shouted over the door as Canaria shook her head in amusement.
"What am I going to do with him?" Canaria asked as her eyes wander on one of the pictures on the desk beside the television. In the picture were Canaria and a slightly younger Izayoi standing next to each other with smiles on their faces. Behind them was the sea in America while they were on their 2 year vacation trip.
"What am I going to do with you...?" Canaria said with an amused smile as she take the last bite of her half eaten cookie and she walked upstairs to prepare herself for meeting one of her clients.
Near the School...
"So, I hope things go well, Asuna." Shozuou said keeping his eyes on the road while Asuna stared at him in confusion.
"Go well? What do you me-?" Asuna's eyes widen in realization as Shouzou smiled at her reaction on the review mirror.
"Otou-sama!"Asuna said with a blush on her cheeks as her father laugh heartily.
"I'm not making fun of you or anything but I can tell you're nervous." Shouzou stated as Asuna shifted uncomfortable in her seat. She then look to the window to make the nervousness inside her disappear by looking at the people bypassing them.
"Do you think Kaa-san would know about this? I mean, I don't want her to hate him just because I like guy in my school and not him." Asuna said as she glanced at her father. "But I don't get it. Why did you do it, Otou-sama?" Asuna asked with narrowed eyes, recalling her father rearranging an arrange marriage to Sugou, a friend of his.
"What is it, Asuna?" Shouzou asked.
"Why did you arrange a marriage between me and him?" Asuna asked with a little bit of anger in her tone as Shouzou sighed, realizing what she was talking about.
"Asuna, he is a successful man in his own life. You could have a nice relationship with him." Shouzou reasoned.
"But I don't like him! Why did you decide upon yourself to make me marry him? Why can't I choose someone I love!" Asuna said as her eyes widen at last word in her sentence.
"I know, and I hope the boy you love will love you too. Maybe he can break the marriage between you and Sugou. Because I know that every day when you came home, you would always had a smile on your face. And I would always wonder why? But then, I thought that it would be a guy you like from school. And so, I thought of calling off the marriage by the way you smile everyday and how that boy always make you smile." Shouzou said with a smile of his own. "Anyway, who is the boy you love anyway? I never saw or heard his name from you." He asked as he parked at the entrance of the school and he turn his head at Asuna, wanting to hear her answer. But when he look at her, she saw that she looked down with wide eyes.
"Love?" Asuna asked herself as her whole face turns red.
"Asuna?" Shouzou called out as Asuna snapped from her thoughts and looked at him.
"Huh?" Asuna asked.
"We're here." Her father stated as Asuna looked out through the window, seeing the front gates of her school in front of her.
"Okay. Bye, Otou-sama." Asuna said as she quickly exited the car before her father had the time to stop her and ask questions about her crush.
Why doesn't she realized it sooner? Now, she knows why she got all warm when Izayoi was with her and when she was in his arms. Then, she recalled all of the moments where she always stood next to Izayoi, wherever he was, she was always there. Some students thought that she could be alone sometimes, where she would be walking through the school hallways by herself. But she always walk through the hallways with Izayoi by her side which always made her happy much to her confusion, because she had always thought that the feeling was between friends and she was alright to have this happy feeling. But she was proven wrong when her heartbeat always quickens at the sight of Izayoi. Wherever she was by his side, her heartbeat always quicken when she sees his smile or when he teases her much to her embarrassment and displeasure. But she enjoyed it nonetheless inside, because she had Izayoi to company her.
"I'm... In love with Izayoi-kun." Asuna thought as a happy smile graced her features and she quickly searches the hallway for any signs of Izayoi. But she was greeted by the sight of students hurrying to their classes, some drop their books from colliding with the other students and some hurriedly go to their classes by skillfully avoided the running students.
"Asuna! What are you standing over there for? We have class, remember? Let's go!" A voice shouted, which snapped Asuna from her thoughts as she looked to one of her classmates.
"Huh? Al-Alright! Let's go!" Asuna said as she run towards her class with her classmate beside her.
"So, are you ready for Valentine's Day today?" Her classmate asked with a quirked brow and a small smirk.
"Huh?" Asuna looked at her friend and her cheeks turn slightly red. "Y-Yeah! I'm ready." Asuna assured her as she put her hand inside her school bag, feeling a box secured in her bag, much to her relieve.
"Who are you going to give it?" Her classmate asked as Asuna pulled out her hand from her bag and looked at her.
"T-That's a secret." Asuna answered timidly as she glanced the other way, with her redden cheeks.
"Hm... Okay. I understand. I don't want to pry to your personal love life. It's quite rude of me. Sorry for asking, Asuna." Her classmate apologized as Asuna look at her and smile.
"Don't apologize. You just ask, that's all. Anyway, we should get to our class." Asuna said as her classmate smiled at her and nodded.
"Hai!" She replied as the two of them rub towards their class.
"Teacher, sorry for being late!" Asuna's classmate exclaimed with a playful smile, entering the classroom while Asuna stood behind her.
"Late? No, you didn't arrive late. We were just going to start class. It's a good thing that you arrive in the nick of time before I teach, or else you two would stand in the corner and memorize the whole text book while I teach." The teacher said as Asuna's classmate stared eye wide at him, followed by Asuna.
"I'm just kidding. Go back to your seats. We'll shortly continue our lesson from yesterday." The teacher said with a smile, as Asuna's classmate breathed a relieve sigh.
"You scared me for a second there, Teacher." She exclaimed as she walked to her seat, followed by Asuna. When Asuna sit on her chair, she looked towards the chair next to her, where Izayoi sat. But Izayoi wasn't in his chair which confuses her. Without thinking, Asuna raised her hand towards the teacher, who took notice of her action.
"What is it, Asuna?" The teacher asked.
"Where is Izayoi?" Asuna asked.
"Oh, Sakamaki-san. He was called out by a blonde woman earlier ago. She said that she would return Sakamaki back before the school ends. So, unfortunately Sakamaki will not be attending the class now and the class after this, until the last class which is about 4 hours by now." The teacher explained as Asuna sighed with a disappointed frown.
"Is there anything you want to talk to with Sakamaki?" The teacher asked as Asuna smiled a small smile at him and shakes her head.
"Don't worry, Teacher. I'll wait until he gets back." Asuna answered as the teacher nodded at her and then he focused his attention at the class.
"Okay, students. Open your textbooks. I hope you all have a good memory because in the next test, you will have to remember a lot of history." The teacher said earning groans from the students except Asuna, who look down at the heart shaped chocolate valentine box in her hands.
Then her mind recalled earlier about a certain blonde woman coming out of the teacher's mouth. She questioned herself at the thought of the mysterious woman picking up Izayoi and returning him before the school ends.
"Who is she?" Asuna thought deciding that she had to wait until Izayoi returns. But in the back of her mind, she had a little bit of doubt that the woman is someone that Izayoi knew. And she hope that she wasn't his ex-girlfriend or past love interest, uch to her displeasure of thinking about it.
Asuna shakes her head from her thoughts, "What am I thinking?" Asuna asked herself as she put the heart shaped chocolate inside her bag and pulled out her history book and laid it on her desk.
"Izayoi likes you, Asuna. Don't you ever thought about another girl that would interest him. Because there is no one Izayoi likes, I mean no one that he likes than you. So, keep that in mind that you're the only one girl that he likes or love. So, never forget, alright? As I said, I'm his mother after all. It's a mother's intuition to know about this thing." Canaria words rang through her head before she left Izayoi's home that day to roast the chicken.
Asuna's cheeks turn red as she recalled the word 'love' from Canaria. Then, she smiled as she now knows that Izayoi only like her and no one else. So with that mind, she pushed the thought about the mysterious woman liking Izayoi and continued to learn with the rest of the students in her and Izayoi's classroom.
Time Skip
"Where is he?" Asuna asked herself looking over the window seeing that Izayoi hasn't come back from his trip with the mysterious blonde woman that her history teacher told her about.
"Okay, class. Dismiss!" The teacher said as the students stand up and one by one, they left the classroom, leaving Asuna in her chair.
"Is it over already?" Asuna asked in surprise, recalling that Izayoi would come back before the school ends."Something must be wrong…" Asuna thought with a concerned look as she stood up from her seat and walked out of her classroom to head towards the school gates outside.
When Asuna walked towards the school gates, she look at the passing school students heading through the school gates to head towards their homes. Then, she look ahead of the gates, seeing no signs of Izayoi anywhere.
"Where is he? The teacher said he would be back before school ends. What's taking him so long?" Asuna asked herself with a worried look.
But then, she looked at the girls by the school gates with their apparent boyfriends.
"Here! I hope you will like it." A girl said passing a box of chocolates to her boyfriend, who accepted it in his hand with a smile on his face.
"I made it last night. So, you better eat it, you hear me?" Another girl exclaimed to her boyfriend, who smiled at her, which caused her to blush.
"Um… Today is Valentine's Day. A-And, I made this for you. I-I hope you like it." A timid girl said giving a small box of chocolates to her boyfriend, who graciously accepted it.
"They look so happy…" Asuna thought with a smile, as she grabbed her school bag tightly, which contains the heart shaped box of chocolates. Then, she look at the school gates as she tried to find any signs of Izayoi anywhere, hoping that he will come back. But when she saw no signs of Izayoi for a few minutes, she let out a frown as she gripped the clutch of her bag.
"Maybe I should go home…" Asuna said sorely as she slowly walked through the school gates and headed towards the ravine of the town, deciding that she will go home late after taking a stroll around the town.
Town's Ravine
(Mondaiji tachi Episode 1)
"Huh…" Asuna sighed as she looked at the water of the big ravine in front of her. She stopped walking as she stared at the wideness of the ravine, unaware a group of delinquents was walking towards her.
"Hey, get out of our way!" A voice shouted snapping Asuna out of her thoughts as she looked at the group of delinquents, which consists of six guys in school uniform which were un-tuck, leaving it to rest below their waists.
"What?" Asuna asked as the leader of the group pushed her down the small hill causing her to roll down from the solid earth path she was on and into the grassy fields next to the ravine.
"Ugh…" Asuna said as she supported herself by putting her hands on the ground and then she looked up at the leader with a glare. "What's your problem?!" Asuna yelled in frustration.
"What did you say?" The leader responded with an angry tone, which caused Asuna to flinch from fear but she glared at him, recalling that she fell because of him.
"You can't just push someone out of your way!" Asuna stated as the leader walked from the walk path and down the small hill, followed by his group.
"Aren't you complaining? You're the one who stood in my way, bitch!" The leader said as he grabbed Asuna's neck and lift her up from the ground, which caused her to grab the leader's hand in response. Asuna started to squirm as she gripped the leader's hand tightly to let her go, but the leader gripped her neck tighter, causing Asuna to grit her teeth from the pain of her neck being tightly grip.
"This is your punishment for your stupid complain. I hope you regret what you did, girl." The leader said as Asuna's kept trying to push the leader away from her but it was useless as the leader stayed still in his spot.
"That's right, boss! That's what you get for making our boss angry, you stupid girl!" A member of the group commented with a grin as the other members just watched on their leader strangling the girl with one hand.
"Hey!" A voice shouted which got the attention of everyone standing on the grassy field. The leader turns his head around towards the person, who was standing on the walk path. When he look at the person in question, his eyes widen and instantly he felt something collided in his gut, hard.
"I suggest you let go of the girl before I destroy all the bones in your body." A voice advised as the leader look down at the lock of blonde hair, and a slight frown on the person's face. When the leader groan, feeling the fist buried into his stomach went deeper into his stomach, he immediately let go of his grip on Asuna, who fell to the ground and coughed from the restraint of air of being strangled.
"You'll pay for that. And this pay isn't cheap." The person said as he pulled out his fist from the leader's stomach and instantly punched his cheek, prompting him to flew back a distance away from him.
"Leticia." The person called out as the other members of the group turn around, seeing a blonde woman wearing a business suit walking towards them.
"As you wish, Izayoi-sama." The woman named Leticia answered, as she open her eyes and she instantly thrust her umbrella into a member's stomach, surprising the other members by how quick she attack. Then, Leticia pulled out her umbrella from the member's stomach, causing him to fall to the ground and immediately clutch his stomach in pain.
"Are you running or what?" Izayoi asked the other members, who looked at him and then at Leticia.
"W-We'll go! Run!" One of the members said as he attempt to run from Izayoi, but he was surprised as he grabbed by the collar, which prompted him to fall to the ground. The member look up at Izayoi's face, who had a frown on his face. Izayoi let go of the man's collar as the member quickly turns around to face him and he slowly steps back away from Izayoi.
"You're the one who call her, a stupid girl." Izayoi said as the member look at Asuna, who rubs her neck while she coughed a little.
"P-Please spare me! I-I don't-" He was cut off as he was lifted by the collar and he look on in fear as Izayoi look at him with narrowed eyes.
"You what? I don't forgive people easily, you know." Izayoi said as he punched the man in the stomach, knocking out the air inside his stomach as the man instantly was blown back by the force of Izayoi's punch. The man then crash on the ground, with his eyes rolled at the back of his head, unconscious. Beside the man, was the unconscious leader, who was lying on the ground with his body facing upwards towards the sky while his hands were on his stomach.
"Leticia, let the last one go away." Izayoi said as Leticia stopped her umbrella from colliding at the last remaining and conscious member of the group.
"Ah!" The last member screamed as he runs away from the ravine, ignoring his knock out members.
"Are you sure?" Leticia asked looking at the running delinquent, as she look at Izayoi. Leticia has long blonde hair with curls at the ends. Her blonde bangs covers her forehead and also frames her petite face. She has pale skin and red eyes. Also, Leticia's outfit consists of a black collared shirt with a gray tie with an emblem of a cross. She wears a red overcoat over her black shirt. She also wears a white mini skirt with a red hem and attached to it are four belt-like straps that has white equally-armed crosses at the end of each. Leticia also wears striped black and grey thigh-highs and black boots to complete her outfit.
"Yeah. I'm sure. He's a coward. Who likes to fight a coward, anyway?" Izayoi asked with a smirk as Leticia sighed. She then walk towards Izayoi and give him back his school bag, to which he took it with his right hand.
"Send my regards to Canaria." Leticia said as Izayoi nodded.
"Will do." Izayoi answered.
"Then, I shall bid farewell, Izayoi-sama." Leticia said with a bow of her head as she walked away from the scene.
Izayoi then looked at Asuna and walked towards her. "Are you okay, Asuna?" Izayoi asked as he sit on the ground in front of her.
"Y-Yeah, I'm okay." Asuna said as she rub her neck another time before she let it down and look at Izayoi. "Where did you go? I've been waiting for you at school." Asuna said with a small frown as Izayoi wore a teasing smile.
"Did you miss me perhaps, Asuna?" Izayoi asked with a small smirk on the corner of his lips as Asuna merely glanced the other way, a tiny blush visible on her cheeks.
"N-No. I just want to know where have you been. That's all." Asuna answered as Izayoi smiled.
"A meeting with the Sport's advisers." Izayoi answered as Asuna looked at him in confusion.
"Sport's advisers?" Asuna questioned.
"Yeah, they held the sport's competitions all over Japan. And sometimes, they combined with the other advisers from abroad." Izayoi explained as Asuna nodded in understanding.
"Why did you take so long to come back?" Asuna asked with a bit of worry evident in her tone.
"Why did you think meetings existed? They talk too much that I don't even want to come in the first place today. But since Leticia said I should come, so I did. I didn't know that some of the couches from other schools hold complaints towards me." Izayoi said as Asuna raised an eyebrow.
"Complaints?" Asuna asked.
"Yeah. You see, they don't like it that I beat their athletics in all of the competitions in the past. So, today's meeting, they let out their complaints to me." Izayoi answered as Asuna wore a frown on her face, disappointed that the sport advisers in this country would be so rude. "Anyway, I don't care. Leticia managed to shut their mouths before I could do something else to make them silenced themselves." Izayoi said as Asuna recalled the blonde haired woman that defeated a few delinquents with just a thrust of her umbrella.
"Who is Leticia?" Asuna asked.
"She's my secretary and manager. But she always acts as my secretary. Why do you ask?" Izayoi asked as Asuna shake her head.
"Nothing. Just asking, that's all." Asuna answered.
"If you're jealous of her, don't be. She is older than you thought she would be." Izayoi said as Asuna look at him in surprise.
"Jealous? Why would I think something like that?" Asuna asked as Izayoi let out a playful smile.
"Do you think I don't know? People in the office, sometimes confused me and her of being a couple. But to me, she's like a maid." Izayoi explained as Asuna raised an eyebrow at the last part.
"Maid? Why would you think about that?" Asuna questioned as Izayoi look at the sky that was beginning to turn orange.
"She always follows me around the office, and she always brings me coffee whenever I step inside the office. So, to me, she's like my personal maid." Izayoi explained with a small smile as Asuna nodded in understanding.
"Anyway, looks like we'll have the chance to look at the stars tonight." Izayoi said as he saw the sun sets on the horizon in front of him. Asuna look at the sun set before she recalled Izayoi's sentence.
"Look at the stars tonight? With just the two of us... alone?" Asuna thought as a blush adorned her cheeks at the two of them looking at the stars together. The thought make her smile as she glanced at Izayoi, who look at the sun set with a peaceful smile.
Suddenly, Asuna recalled that today was Valentine's Day and she looked left and right to find her school bag. Then, she looked behind her to see her school bag lying on the field of grass.
Asuna stand up from her spot, which caught Izayoi's attention as he look at her walking towards her school bag. He then saw her picking up the school bag and she opens her school bag with a concern look, which made him curious.
"Asuna, what are you doing?" Izayoi asked as Asuna look at him.
"Nothing. I-I'm just checking something." Asuna answered as she walked back towards Izayoi and sit down next to him. Asuna then glance towards Izayoi, who smiled at her, which made her blush.
By then, night fell and the two of them sit by the grassy field alone with just each other's company.
"Look." Izayoi exclaimed as he pointed his finger upwards and Asuna look up to where he pointed. When she look up, her eyes widen at the quantity of stars twinkling in the sky above them.
"Wow..." Asuna said speechless as she look at the wonder of night with an awe look. "It's beautiful." Asuna commented as she look at all the stars twinkling one by one.
"But I think someone is way more beautiful than the stars." Izayoi said as he look at Asuna, who turns at him with a curious look and raised eyebrow.
"Who?" Asuna asked tilting her head slightly to the side, as Izayoi smiled and he closed the distance between them, his face was a few inches from hers. The action caused Asuna's face to turn red completely.
"You. Who else?" Izayoi answered as Asuna look at him in surprise.
"B-But I'm not beautiful than the stars..." Asuna stated stuttering through her sentence as Izayoi chuckle.
"Who says?" Izayoi asked as Asuna closed her mouth from speaking to which Izayoi pulled back his head and smiled at her. "I got ya, didn't I?" Izayoi said with a grin as he looked at the stars in front of him.
After a while, the two didn't talk and just stayed in silence as Izayoi look at the stars while Asuna looked down with a thoughtful look.
"I-Izayoi-kun?" Asuna called as Izayoi turn his head to look at her.
"What?" Izayoi asked as his eyes widen seeing a heart shaped box in front of him.
"I-I made this for you." Asuna said nervously as Izayoi take the heart shaped box with his right hand and look at it for a while. "I-I h-hope you like it." Asuna stuttered as she swallowed her nervousness and look at Izayoi, who was opening the box and he held a smile on his face.
"I know it isn't much, but-" Asuna was cut off as she look at Izayoi break off a part of the big heart shape chocolate bar and take a bite out of it.
"Don't worry." Izayoi assured her as Asuna look at him. "It's delicious." Izayoi added as Asuna held a smile on her face, happy that her crush enjoyed her chocolate heart shape bar.
"To return your delicious chocolate, I'll give you mine." Izayoi said as he pulled out a plastic bag with chocolate chip cookies inside. He then give the plastic bag to Asuna, who was looking at with wide eyes.
"Did you made this, Izayoi-kun?" Asuna questioned in surprise.
"Yeah. I made this morning. Why don't you give it a try?" Izayoi asked as Asuna open the plastic bag and pulled out a single chocolate chip cookie from the bag and she look at it. She then take a small bite out of the cookie and her eyes immediately widen by the sweetness, flavor and deliciousness inside the cookie. She could feel the chocolate melt inside her mouth, much to her happiness of tasting it.
After a while, Asuna open her eyes and she look at Izayoi, "This is the best cookies I ever tasted!" Asuna commented with a wide smile as Izayoi smile in return.
But then, Asuna realized the plastic bag which Izayoi gave and she recalled that today was Valentine's Day. She slowly lift her head up at Izayoi, "Izayoi-kun, if you give me this on..." Asuna was cut off by Izayoi.
"Valentine's Day? Do you think I would forget this day?" Izayoi asked as Asuna just look at him.
"What do you mean? And if you give me this today, then that means..." Asuna trailed off as Izayoi closed the distance between them, his head inches from hers.
"I love you." Izayoi said with a smile as he captured Asuna's lips with his. Asuna's eyes widen at the contact of his lips on hers, but then she relaxed and she kissed him back while closing her eyes, shedding tears from her eyes, happy that Izayoi was kissing her. While the two of them locked lips, relishing the touch of each other, as they will remember this moment that they had spent together and they will remember their First kiss below the night sky.
After a while, the two of them pulled back from the kiss and Izayoi look at the smiling Asuna. He lift his right thumb and gently brush the tears streaming down Asuna's cheeks. After that, he caressed her cheek as Asuna grabbed the hand with her right hand, "I love you too, Izayoi-kun." Asuna said looking at Izayoi, who still kept his smile on his face.
"Then, to the girl I love, would you be my girlfriend, Yuuki Asuna?" Izayoi asked as Asuna leaned forward and wrapped her arms around Izayoi's neck.
"Yes, I love that very much." Asuna answered smiling with closed eyes as Izayoi wrapped his arms around her. The plastic bag and the heart-shaped box lay beside the two of them after both of them put it on the ground after tasting their first bite.
In the midst of the starry night sky and twinkling stars, the both of them sit quietly without a sound and they just relaxed into each other's arms, wanting to remember the moment forever.
"This is the best Valentine's Day ever." Asuna mutters sitting in Izayoi's lap while laying her head on his chest.
"Really? Me too. But do you know what's better than that?" Izayoi asked with a small smirk.
"What?" Asuna asked in curiosity.
"Having you as my girlfriend. I would call it the best day of my life than having the best Valentine's Day." Izayoi explained as Asuna slight blushed but she smiled, touched by his sweet words.
"I love you, Izayoi-kun."
"I love you too, Asuna."
