As an apology over the whole Caitlin affair Molly and Gordon were watching the stars at Tidmouth Sheds that night.
"It's so beautiful don't you think Gordon?" Molly asked him.
"Yes indeed." replied Gordon confidently. "Look- there's a heart over there."
Molly looked up.
"Oh yes, so it is." She breathed.
Gordon grinned.
Then, they heard Percy, their youngest son, ask. "What happened then, James?"
"Why are the boys up?" Molly asked.
"I have no idea." Gordon replied. "James?" He addressed his older son.
"Yes dad?" James asked casually.
"Why are you and Percy still up?"
"I'm just telling him a story- it is a long day tomorrow, and he needs his sleep."
Nearly all engines had a large fondness for stories- whether someone told them myths and tales of old, or just funny and strange anecdotes about their day, they were always curious to hear stories their friends had to offer them. So naturally, Gordon was rather curios to hear about what James had told Percy.
"Well what is it about?" He asked politely.
"Oh, it's about the busiest time I had with the animal feed trucks." James replied. "It also happened to be the funniest, so I hope we didn't disturb you." he finished awkwardly.
"I see." Gordon said.
But the truth was the couple had paid no heed to their sons up until that point.
They had found the symbol of their love in the night skies.
