Alice slowly walked down the stairs to her oldest brother. When she saw him she stopped and almost turned around before Edward pushed her to continue. Alice finished walking down the stairs and sat next to Emmett on the couch.
"So little Ali's growing up," Emmett laughed dryly.
"Oh Emmett you act like I'm getting married," Alice giggled.
"Trust me you're never getting married with him around," Edward said from across the room.
"I just don't want my baby sister to get hurt you've been through so much already and I want to protect you from something as little as boys," Emmett sighed.
"I can protect myself. Plus if there's any problems with Jazz I'm sure Rose will take care of them first," Alice said as Jaspers eyes got big.
Jasper cleared his throat, "Um well before I get killed today I was wondering if maybe me and Ali could um like go get ice cream or something tonight or whenever or something like that."
"Dude," Edward started laughing, "You wanna stutter one more time or what. You start dating my sister and you're afraid to talk around here."
"Well I think ice cream would be a perfect first date for you two. Be back here at 8," Rosalie said to her brother before handing him some money and ushering him and Alice out the door.
The two got in the car and Jasper let out all the air he was holding inside himself while Alice laughed.
"Oh my god Alice. You are so lucky I've grown up around Emmett because if not id be running for the hills not taking you to get ice cream."
"Oh come on it couldn't have been that bad."
"When you were upstairs he threatened to kill me at least five times while strangling a pillow."
"He's just not used to us he'll get over it."
They pulled up to the ice cream place and the two went inside. Alice went to get a table while Jasper got the ice cream. Jasper came back and they started to eat and talk.
"So Ali how is it to be a big bad eighth grader."
"It's the same as being a seventh grader. It's just one more step to being in the high school ya know."
"But then I don't have to sneak through the middle school to see you."
"Yeah you should probably stop doing that. People will start talking."
"We've been over this. I don't care if people start talking. Let them I'm still with my dream girl."
"It's just going to be weird. You have to know that. You have to know well both get slack for this and it's going to be too much for you."
"Mary Alice listen to me. I'm not going to just drop you because some immature high school kids are talking behind my back. And promise me if I did I would surely be killed for it."
"If you say so. I think we should get going it's almost eight," Alice said getting up and getting into the car.
The ride home was almost completely quiet other than the humming of the radio and the two breathing.
That night Jasper stayed the night with Edward and he couldn't sleep. The whole night he tossed and turned until Edward yelled through the night.
"What is wrong over there?"
Jasper sighed, "It's your sister."
Edward turned the light on and gave a questioning look to his best friend, "What about my sister?"
"Why can't she see that I actually care about her? Like tonight she kept saying how I was going to get sick of her because of others talking about us."
"She's just insecure. She's a middle school girl who goes to a therapist because of self-harming."
"But I've been in her life forever doesn't she see that I've gotten slack for her since she was born. Doesn't she see that I could care less? Doesn't she know that its only her and it will only be her."
"Whoa there poet master you really like her."
"Edward you don't understand. This isn't just some crush. I love your sister and she just can't see that I'm completely in love with her. Why can't she see that she will always be the girl for me and I just want to be with her forever?"
"You actually love my sister."
"Love isn't a strong enough word. It might be weird and it might be creepy but I can't help how I feel and I just don't understand why she doesn't see how much she means to me," Jasper says while running his hand through his hair.
"Trust me Jazz she knows. I promise you she sees. She just doesn't want to get hurt. Yeah you've been there for her but you've never been with her. She just doesn't want to get hurt. Trust me she'll come around and then she will be all over you and you will be sick of her."
"Me sick of her," Jasper laughed, "Never. She will always be the spark in my life."
"Whatever. Just remember I may approve of you two dating but I still know where that condom stash that you've had since we were thirteen is and if one of those going missing so help me god I will personally rip your dick off."
"O-okay got it. Good night," Jasper said as fast as he could and turned over to go to bed thinking of his wonderful girl.
Edward laughed as he went to be thinking of how this girl was loved by so many and still thought nothing of herself.
