Alice finally fell asleep in the middle of the night and Jasper decided he should go talk to Edward. He walked down the hall to his best friend's room and knocked on the door. Even though there was no response on the other side of the door Jasper pushed it open and walked in to see his friend sitting on the edge of his bed staring into space. Jasper sat next to Edward and the next thing he knew he was clutching his face where he knew a handprint had to be forming.

"What the hell did you think you were doing Jasper?" Edward yelled. "You knew damn well what those boys were thinking as soon as you two walked in. Hell I knew that was what you were thinking and you're so lucky I haven't decided to kick your ass for that. Why on earth would you leave her even if she said it was okay? We both know she likes to think she can handle everything on her own."

"Don't you think I knew that everyone was staring at her? I felt the tension in the room when we walked in and I didn't feel right leaving her there but she insisted. I didn't think someone would actually try anything knowing we were both there with her. And don't you think I feel like such an ass already. I definitely don't need you making me feel like an even bigger piece of trash Edward," Jasper yelled back.

They both sighed and there was an awkward pause.

"I know you didn't mean for anything to happen. It's just she's been through so much already and I know she doesn't need this following her for the next four years," Edward said.

Jasper stood up and went to walk out the door. "I know I know. I'm gonna go check on her again."

Jasper walked back down the hall to Alice's room and sat on her bed. He reached down to smooth her hair and gave her forehead a kiss. As soon as he did this Alice went rigid and started screaming. Edward came running in as soon as Jasper had engulfed Alice in a hug. Alice finally woke up confused as to what was happening with tears streaming down her face and Jasper whispering in her ear.

"Shh Shh Shh listen Alice you're okay you're okay I promise you're okay sweetheart," Jasper kept whispering to Alice to try and calm her down.

"Jasper please help me please just tell me why I'm so messed up please," Alice yelled through her tears.

"There's nothing wrong with you honey. You are absolutely perfect and anyone who doesn't see that is crazy."

For the rest of the night and into the morning Alice just cried on Jasper's shoulder.
