Thank you for being patient with me. I appreciate the follows and the reviews. They are extremely motivating. Note: This is a short chapter, but one I hope you will find some humor and angst in. See you next chapter.

Chapter 8

Diana dodged the fist aimed at her head. She adjusted her feet and moved slightly to the left allowing her to grab her opponents arm and swiftly she pulled the arm down and flipping her sparring partner onto her back with a thud.

"Ugh. Damn you to Tarturas Princess." Her red headed opponent growled out.

"Don't let Clio hear you speaking like that. She may have a petition to have your tongue removed." Diana retorted with a smirk.

"Yeah right, Clio would never, and I mean never think to do that."

"Don't be so sure about that love." Artemis, the red headed Amazon, cringed at the voice.

"Hello Clio. How are you today?" She asked the Amazon Librarian.

She gave a slight blush and answered, "I am fine General."

Diana patted Artemis on the back, "I think I will be heading out momentarily. My charge will be here soon." The Amazon Princess gave a small grin to her friend and mentor and left the training arena. Diana had been surprised when she had returned from visiting her family in London at the Amazon Embassy. The Amazon council had agreed for a second Embassy to be built in New York City. It was a lot closer to where Diana did most of her 'super' hero duties and it would allow her more time to visit with her sisters, more importantly with her mother and actual sister, Donna. The Amazons had voted to allow for more interaction with man's world. One where Diana would not be the only Amazon working as an ambassador. General Artemis and General Philipus also held the mantle of ambassador. Queen Hippolyta would be making regular visits since she had agreed, reluctantly albeit, to allow Donna to attend an American high school for different type of education besides one she would receive on the island.

The Embassy had been built within week, both by hard labor on the Amazons part, and by magic loaned by the Olympic gods. Diana smiled. She would know have a little slice of home more easily accessible. That wasn't the only reason why either. She would also be able to spend more time with a certain beautiful witch. She had decided upon taking the mission that she would take it upon herself to be on her best behavior. After all she was for certain she wanted to take up a serious relationship with the woman.

"What is this?" Hermione asked. She blinked several times hoping she was not seeing a building that looked as if it belonged in ancient times. There were multiple modern looking buildings all around but this one stood out. "Is this Gringotts out in the open for muggles to see?"

"That isn't a bank. Come on and you will find out soon enough. I would like for you to meet your body guard so we can set up a schedule that works for the both of you."

"Minister are you sure?"

"Are you having second thoughts?"

Hermione glared at the minister of magic.

"I will take that as a no." He put his hand on her back and gently gave her nudge leading her to the front doors.

Hermione glanced around. The foyer of the building was magnificent. She wondered what the other rooms looked like. The place had marble and gold everywhere. Statues of great artwork lined the foyer walls. "Ms. Zatarra. Glad to see you. This is Hermione Granger." Hermione stopped looking around and looked at the woman in the room that she had not noticed before.

"Hello Miss Granger and feel free to call me Zatanna, the both of you, and it is a pleasure to meet you." The woman walked forward and extended her hand.

Hermione took it and gave a firm shake. "Likewise," she replied. The woman, she admitted silently, was beautiful. Not as beautiful as the Amazon. A voice in the back of her mind piped up. "I take it that you're my babysitter." She said with a chuckle hoping the other woman got it as a joke and not as sarcasm.

"Unfortunately I am not. I am only finishing warding the building. You're body guard should be coming through any moment." She paused quite suddenly. Her right hand reached for her right ear and a look of puzzlement then anger flashed crossed her face.

Hermione was completely flabbergasted as to what was going on.

"I am sorry, but I needed elsewhere." Zatanna stated. "Please give my regards to the Princess. Just tell her it is business of Circe if you do not mind." With that the woman gave them a little wave, "tropelet nwot nwod siloportem!" She exclaimed and with a flash she was gone.

"Er- what just happened?"

"Zatanna had a League emergency to attend to." A new woman's voice broke the ice.

Hermione glanced up. "You!" She exclaimed in anger. Not particularly sure why she was anger. Maybe it was because the woman invoked anger in her whenever she was around.

"Yes, it is me. I don't think anyone has taken over my body." She said with a sly smile. In a rush to get down the stairs and greet Hermione properly, well more to get rid of the man and apologize to the one she intended to court, she slipped on the red carpet lining the marble stair case and she lost her balance. Ungracefully, the heavy book that belonged to Hermione slipped from her grasp and flew directly towards the witch. Diana of course righted herself and levitated towards the ground but not in time to stop the heavy book from slamming into Hermione's face. The witch stumbled backwards and Diana managed to catch the brunette before she hit the floor. However, Hermione was now unconscious. "Oh Hera, help me, she is going to kill me when she awakens." Diana said.

Minister Kingsley glanced from Diana to the motionless witch. He cleared his throat. "Here is some paper work that you and Miss Granger should discuss, well," he glanced at Hermione and then cringed, "once she is able to." He pressed the paper into her hand. "I should be going. I trust that you will be able to care for Miss Granger without any more incidents." Then he turned on his heel and in a light jog headed for the entrance.

"You're afraid of what she will do when she wakes up, are you not?" Diana asked the retreating man.

He stopped and glance back at her, "Lord have mercy on your soul, because I doubt she will." Then he was gone.
