Ally: Yes I did. But here you go!

Saké POV

After leaving Luffy and the rest of the crew, I made my way to library to do some research about the timeline I was dumped into.

As much as I don't mind doing research, I wouldn't mind having Rum to help me, either. I hope she's still alive, I thought to myself.

I was almost buried in newspapers. I had been reading every newspaper I could find from the past two years to really get a grasp on everything. I now knew where I was in the timeline, but I still prefer to have as much information as I can, so I didn't stop there and kept reading. Even then, I didn't want to read anymore than two years' worth of newspapers.

As I was reading up on the times and getting closer to the most recent newspapers, the more I was able to say, "Oh, I already knew that." It was a comforting feeling.

It took me most of the day to read all the newspapers, even just skimming through some of them. After I was done, I left to go find a place to stay while I was here.

Tomorrow, I'll come back and review all the wanted posters, and whatever it is they have to go along with them, I thought.

As I was walking around the town looking for a cheap hotel, I heard someone call my name.

"HEY! It's Saké!" I heard someone call from behind. I looked behind me and saw Luffy, Nami, and Usopp all running to catch up with me, each of them holding a suitcase, though Luffy's seemed to be dragging behind him.

Seems they finally exchanged all that treasure.

"Oh, hey guys. What are you three up to?" I asked.

"We're going to the dock so we can get Merry fixed," said Usopp happily.

"That's great," I said with a small smile. "Where is everyone else?"

"Robin and Chopper are out shopping for books, and we left Zoro and Sanji with Merry," Nami informed me.

"What were you doing?" Luffy asked

"I was at the library. I needed to do some reading. I read a lot today, so now I'm going to try to find someplace to stay," I said.

"What were you reading? Maybe Robin can help you," suggested Nami.

"You could say I have been out of the loop with everything for a while, so I'm trying to get caught up with current events. But I'm just about all done. Maybe another day or two and I should be fine," I said with a small smile

"Why would you be out of touch?" Usopp asked.

"Mhmm, I've just been a tad lazy to stay up to date with everything," I explained to him.

"...That didn't really explain much," he said, still somewhat confused. I put my hands up in defense.

"Look, I don't understanding everything that's going on, so I can't really explain it to others, okay?" I said. He didn't seem like he like or trust my response, probably since I was getting a bit defensive, but I just shrugged it off. "Well, I'm off to find a place to stay for the night. See you guys later."

"If you need anything, just come and find us," Nami called at me as our two groups started to part ways.

"Will do," I said, waving back at them.

"BYE!" Luffy said as he followed Nami. Usopp looked behind him and waved back, not saying anything.

I wandered around for a while until I found a hotel that was decent and reasonably cheap too. Apparently I had ended up at a place not too far from the library, luckily for me. I was unpacking when my stomach started growling.

"Looks like it's time for dinner," I said out loud, realizing I hadn't eaten since I was with the Straw Hats.

I left the room, and as I walked around the town look for a place to eat, I heard someone yelling. I turned around to see Chopper running around frantically, and from the sounds of it, Robin had finally gone to the CP9.

"HEY, CHOPPER!" I called out to him as I saw him running.

He stopped running and looked over at me. I jogged to catch up to him."Is everything alright?" I asked.

"No, I can't find Robin anywhere. I've been looking all over for her," he said in a panic.

"Well, Robin is a big girl. I think she'll be fine," I told him while patting his back.

"I know, but she was with me one minute and the next she was gone," he said, looking downcast.

"Well, I have a few things to do, but I'll tell you what, if I run into her at all I'll send her your way, alright?" I said looking down at him.

I don't really want to get involved with this, but it's the least I can do to keep him from worrying too much, I thought.

"Really?! You'd do that?!" Chopper exclaimed.

"Yes, I will. I'm sorry I can't help more than that," I said.

"No, that's plenty! Thank you so much!" he said, smiling before starting to run off, pausing for one second to wave goodbye to me.

"Now, onto food."

After some more walking, during which I thought I might faint from hunger, I finally found a good place to eat that wasn't too expensive. I had a delicious meal of stew with some bread.

Sanji's cooking still tastes better than this. Though, it was a delicious meal, I thought as I finished the meal.

As I was leaving to head back to the hotel for the night, the wind started to pick up and the shops and houses around me were starting to close up. I looked up to the sky and saw it had gotten darker. I should get somewhere safe from the wave.

I went to back the hotel and got my stuff, then started following the small flow of people to a safe zone. As I was walking towards a safe point I heard someone yell my name.

"SAKÉ-SAN!"

I looked behind me and I saw Sanji running my way. When he caught up to me, he grabbed my hand and kissed it. "How are you today, Saké-san?" he asked.

"I'm doing well, Sanji-san," I told him while taking my hand back and wiping it off on my pants. "May I ask what you are doing?" I asked him.

"I'm shopping for food for the ship," he said. "And what is a lovely lady like yourself doing walking around?"

"I'm heading to a safe zone before the giant wave comes," I told him.

"Giant wave?" he asked, a bit confused

"...You should really pay more attention to what's going around you other than the girls. Maybe you then you would know what's happening right now." I told him as I walked off, not wanting to deal with him. "I'll see you around, Sanji-san," I said as I blew him a kiss, knowing how he would react and knowing it would keep from following me, at least for a while.

"BYE, SAKÉ-SAN!" I heard him yell.

"He's a good guy, but I never really liked him. He's a little too much like France," I muttered to myself, a little drained after that encounter with him. I started heading to the meet up point once again.

Once I got there, I realized I was more than likely a little early. I hate being early but I always seem to show up early to a lot of things. So instead of settling in, I began walking around to see what shops were still open. I found a shop that sold a variety of weapons that was still open.

"Hello"?" I asked as I went in.

"COMING! Give me a second," I heard a guy say from behind a door that most likely lead to the backroom. I started to look around the shop to see if they had in any fans I could use as weapons.

I saw a lot of different type of weapons—swords, spears, staffs, knives daggers. But no fans.

The guy whose voice I heard earlier finally came out. He looked to be about 50 or so and had short, brown hair that had streaks of gray and a cropped beard to match.

"How can I help you, miss?" he asked me from behind the counter.

"I was wondering if you had any fans for sale. I lost mine a while back during a really bad storm," I said.

"Fans? Hmm...I think I might have a set in the back, but they aren't in the best of condition," he said, then he disappeared into the back again.

"That's fine, I just need something that can be used until I can get something better," I sort-of shouted in order for him to hear me from the back of his store. He came back out with a rectangular, black box.

"Here you go. Take a look. This is all I got in the way of fans. Most people want swords, daggers, or guns these days, so I can't really afford to keep many fans around," he told me as he handed me the box.

I took the book and opened it, and immediately saw he wasn't lying when he said the two fans weren't in the best of conditions. I picked one up, rotating it. It wasn't that heavy, but it did have some weight to it. I would say about five pounds, give or take. I tried to let it fall open. It got about halfway before it got stuck. I brought up my other hand and force it open. It was a lot harder than it needed to be.

From what I tell of what was left of the fan, someone had once painted some fairly pretty ocean scenery onto it, though there was no longer much left. I put it back into the box and inspected the other fan as well. There wasn't much of a difference between the two. I sighed deeply and looked at the store owner.

"I hope you got these pretty cheap, sir. They can't really be used anymore," I told him with a sad smile.

"I got them for free. I am planning on getting them fixed up, so I can sell them. I'm hoping to get about 8,000 beli for them once the repairs are done," he said.

"When would the repairs be done?" I asked him.

"About five days, I think. It'd be around three if the wave hadn't been coming through right about now," he told me as he looked at the fan in my hand.

I placed the fan I was holding back in the same position I had found it, then closed the box. "Well, then I'll come back in five days and decide if I'll take them. Is that okay with you?" I asked as I handed the box back to him.

"That's perfectly fine with me. I should see you in five days then," he confirmed, picking the box up and starting to turn away.

"In five days, then," I told him as I walked out of his shop.

Looks like I may have to start pickpocketing again. First I will have to count my what money I have left, I thought as I started heading towards where the evacuation area was.
