I looked around at all the girls in big, puffy dresses, trying to spot the familiar curly hair of my best friend. I had to tell her my feelings tonight, or I may never

"Nick!" I turned to my left, my brown eyes growing wide. Her hair was flat-ironed straight, instead of in its normal, curly state, the white strapless dress clinging to her in all the right places, The white strapy heels making her about my height, her chocolate brown eyes rimmed with snow-white makeup, even her eyeliner was white. Her full lips were covered in a frosty pink lipstick. She completely took my breath away.

"Whoa, Chris, you look amazing." I said, running a hand through my brown curls. She smiled and gently kissed my cheek.

"Thanks Nicky," She said sweetly. I heard "Slow Dance" by Framing Hanley start, and I decided this would be the perfect song. I bowed a little, holding out my hand.

"Would you like to dance?" I asked, looking up at her. She giggled and nodded, placing her hand in mine. I pulled her onto the floor, wrapping my free arm around her slender waist, keeping her hand in mine. We started to slowly twirl, and It felt like it was only the two of us.

I hope time would stop, It's hard for me to breathe, shes really falling in love with me. What should I say? What should I do? Don't let this end now, slow this dance down, I could stay here all night, forever. Forever. Dance with me forever. These lyrics ran though my brain as I stared into her eyes. She smiled and rested her head lightly on my shoulder, as she sighed in contentment.

"Chris?" I asked, looking down at her. Her eyes met mine, a small smile playing on her lips.

"What Nick?" I sighed, deciding to go in for the big plunge

"What would you say, if, um, I said I liked you more than a friend?" I squeezed my eyes shut, waiting for rejection, but what I got was her soft lips against mine. My hand left her waist, tangling in her hair.

"I was waiting for that, you know," She said "I knew you always liked asking a girl out, instead of the other way." we both smiled, and I kissed her again, just as the song stopped. I could feel our hearts beating in sync, and I knew then she was my soul mate, and that she would really dance with me forever 3
