Chapter 21

"Are you okay?"

That's all he could say when he finds her in front of the door, completely drenched from head to toes. She looked up and her shivering lips mouthing a silent 'fine'.

"Don't ever do something like that again…"

He blurted out, unconsciously closed their distance and pulled Ada into a bear hug.

She's cold. Is the rain drops here really that cold? At this time, he could feel it, how her slender posture seems to fit perfectly to his, and her slow paced breathing against his chest.

"What are you doing? You're going to wet your clothes too." She chuckled bitterly, before pulling away.

"I need to get changed and a warm bath. Sorry for worrying you." Ada announced with a sad smile and rushed into her room.

Leon exhaled trying to calm himself a little. He noticed the front of his shirt is now soaked. He made a quick call to the Radames assistant gave her an assurance that Ada is now home while doing that he changed to a comfy t-shirt and jogging pants.

He realized that there's no way he's going to let Ada get away from explaining herself for running away, so he knocked her room door and told her that he's going to be in the kitchen making a warm soup for both of them.

He was stirring the soup gently when he felt someone moved behind him, touching his shoulder lightly, Ada take a peek at his dish then asked, "Is there anything I could help you with?"

"The bowls, I forgot to take out the bowls."

"I got it," She said then quickly prepared two bowls on the counter beside him.

It didn't take long before both of them sit face to face on the kitchen counter, digging into their bowls.

"Good as always. Perhaps, if the house ever needs a cook we could have you." Ada commented, looking down at her bowl. Leon laughed sheepishly.

"Seriously Leon, this kind of skill is for someone who's actually interested in cooking as their future career," She added, now starting to sound like one of his former home economics teachers.

"Culinary arts is just a hobby though I want to be something more."

"More?"

"Yeah, something that would affect people more, like police, soldier, or fireman," He explained. Ada stopped eating for a moment before nodding in understanding manner.

"That's pretty unexpected, coming from a rebel student like you."

"Long time ago that was just something that people want me to do and now I'm actually started to think that it's wasn't that bad."

"It's not bad, just- hard to imagine, someone like you to be one of that," Ada said then stood up to put her bowl in the dishwasher.

"Ada, about today-"

"That was nothing important, I just got too caught up in the moment," She said, her back to him and doesn't seem like she's going to turn away soon.

"Until the point, you had to run away without telling anyone?"

"Not before I splendidly splashed the wine at him." She chuckled coldly.

"What did he do?"

"Nothing that you should be concerned with, it was between me and him. He just doesn't know what I meant when I said that it's done."

"Done? Your relationship?" Leon furrowed her eyebrows, he had finished his soup but doesn't dare to move to the dishwasher, he's afraid that he would yell at Ada or otherwise if he come near her.

"That, and many other things. He and I, we were not just in a relationship because mutual interest."

"What do you mean?"

"Every girl can have their secret aren't we, Leon?"

"Fine. So where did you go?" He exhaled.

"A friend home. Enough about me. Leon?"

"Yes?"

Ada turned around and move closer facing him.

"There's something that I realized along my escapade."

Leon waits for her to continue doesn't know what to response.

"I- Perhaps, I actually like you."

He didn't know what to say. He's been expecting this ever since he told her that he's falling for her, but now here he is with his mouth agape and brows furrowing in confusion.

Is this means she's returning his feelings?

Is this means they can be together? In a romantic relationship that he never thought he will ever want to pursue again?

"So, Leon Kennedy, I'm asking you to be selfish and forgot everything that happened in past. Because that's exactly what I'm doing too."

He pulled Ada into him.

For the second time tonight, if he doesn't count those countless time he did when they were dancing together.

But this time holding her close engulfed him in a serene warmth that he never felt before. Running his fingers through her dark as raven hair.

"If that's so, let's be selfish together, then."

He whispers softly to her ears before taking her lips with him.

After all the kisses that he has experienced in his life, that was the sweetest one. So sweet and addictive that he wished that it will never end.

Call it cliché but Leon couldn't help but to feel like he and she are meant to be.

I hope you guys can enjoy this chapter. And cheers because Aeon is now somewhat somehow together lol.

Thanks for your support and please do fav/follow and leave a review to tell me what do you think.
