Chapter 7B:
Ash stiffened at the tone in her voice. "I didn't intentionally call you short."
Mary-Lynnette sniffled. "You did call short. No sex for you now!"
"What? What about Poppy?"
"Hey!" Poppy interrupted lifting her hands up to silence them. "I'm not having sex with Mary-Lynnette so what do you mean what about me?
"No sex for her either!" Mary-Lynnette snapped and darted her leg out, successfully kicking Ash in his shin. He howled and hopped on one foot while holding his damaged leg.
Poppy rubbed the back of her neck as she watched the childish interaction between Ash and Mary-Lynnette. "I better get Thea."
As it turned out Thea wasn't in, so Ash—even though Mary-Lynnette confirmed multiple times he was still in the shit house—demanded they visit the Daybreak go-to doctor.
"So, sex. That is-I mean to say—" Mary-Lynnette stopped, pleading with the vampire midwife in front of her, who seemed to understand as she eyed them.
"Yes, you can have sex, for now."
Mary-Lynnette could barely contain her triumphant shout as she grabbed Ash's shirt collar and jerked him up, pulling him out of the office.
"I thought I was in the shit house tonight. Remember the 'no sex for me comment'."
Mary-Lynnette nibbled her bottom lip. "Well, none for you means none for me. Let's go buy that book you were talking about yesterday," she suggested before quickly jumping into the passenger seat.
"Kama sutra?"
"Is that the book with the sex positions?"
"Yes."
Mary-Lynnette grinned deviously and gently leaned over to punch his arm. "We'll have to do at least half before the night is through. You know, I think being pregnant makes me extra horny. Ooh, can we stop and get some blood. I'm thirsty!"
Ash frowned and cast a glance in her direction. "You don't drink blood."
She nodded. "I think I do now."
Ash was at a loss for words.
