I don't own Doctor Who

"YOU KNOW THE DOCTOR!" a Dalek commands Rose, "YOU WILL PREDICT HIS NEXT MOVE!"

"I don't know" Rose admits, "And even if I did, I wouldn't tell you!"

"PREDICT, PREDICT!"

"TARDIS IN FLIGHT DETECTED!" a Dalek cries.

"DESTROY HIM!" another Dalek shouts.

Rose watches in horror as missiles fly towards the TARDIS.

"The TARDIS doesn't have any defenses!" Rose pleads, "You'll kill him!"

"YOU HAVE PREDICTED CORRECTLY!"

The sounds of the TARDIS materializing are heard. The inside of the TARDIS starts fading in around Rose and a Dalek.

"Get down!" the Doctor yells after the TARDIS has finished materializing.

Rose ducks.

"EXTERMINATE!" the Dalek fires its laser. The beam hits the wall.

Very shortly afterwards Jack fires his gun and the Dalek is destroyed.

"I had no doubt that you would get me." Rose hugs the Doctor.

"I did" he admits.

Sofia grabs her sister for a hug the second that the Doctor lets go of her.

"I knew you would be alright." Sofia 'jokes'.

"Sure you did." Rose sasses back.

"Don't I get a hug?" Jack asks.

"I thought that I'd never see you again!" Rose addresses Jack.

"I was talking to him."

After Jack's hug, it was back down to business.

"Anyway of stopping the Daleks?" Sofia asks.

"No way of knowing in here, let's go ask the neighbors!" the Doctor makes his way towards the door.

The moment the Doctor steps outside, the Daleks start shooting. The beams never hit the Doctor.

"Extrapolator shielding!" the Doctor announces proudly, "Nothing can get through it!"

"Well almost nothing," Jack admits.

"I wasn't going to tell them that!" the Doctor whines.

"Sorry"

"The thing is," the Doctor proclaims, "Back in the Dalek home world you lot had a name for me, 'The On Coming Storm'. You may have eliminated all of your emotions, but I reckon that there is still a small spark of fear. Doesn't just burn to face me?"

"How did you lot survive the Time War?" the Doctor demands.

"THEY SURVIVED THROUGH ME!" a large Dalek thingy announced.

"And who are you?" Sofia inquires, "Aside from ugly that is."

"I AM THE EMPEROR!" the large Dalek thingy claims.

"But how?"

"MY SHIP FELL, DAMAGED THROUGH TIME, BUT ALIVE! I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THE HUMAN RACE, COLLECTING THEIR UNWANTED AND CULTIVATING THERE CELLS. ONLY ONE CELL IN A BILLION COULD BE USED!" the Emperor announces.

"But that means that they are half human." Rose realizes.

"THAT IS BLASPHEMY!" the Daleks cry. "DO NOT BLASPHEME!"

"I AM GOD!" the Emperor proclaims.

"Sure you are," the Doctor comments.

"DO NOT INTERRUPT!" the Daleks yell.

"I'm the Doctor, if there's anything I can do it's talk. I know 5 billion languages and you have no way of stopping me. If anyone's going to shut up it's you!"

The Daleks near him roll back in fright.

Sofia is trying hard not to laugh, because if you think about it, this whole scene is quite funny.[1]

Sofia, Rose, the Doctor and Jack head back to the Game Station. Once there, the Doctor figures out that he can make a Delta Wave with the transmitter. Jack turns off the transmissions so that the Daleks can't just blast them out of the sky.

"I can only transmit the extrapolator shielding down five floors." Jack claims. "The Daleks will enter on floor 494; from there, they'll be fighting their way up."

"Who will they be fighting?" the woman asks.

"Us" Jack answers.

"There are only six of us," the woman points out.

"I'm going to need your help, Rose." The Doctor announces.

"Five of us"

"Sofia?" the Doctor questions.

"Sorry, Doctor," Sofia holds up her light saber. "I was told that this could cut through Dalekcanium. I figure, that this is as good a time as any to find out."

She runs up to the Doctor and whispers in his ear, "Bad Wolf is coming, but first must be sent away."

"What does that mean!?" the Doctor demands.

"No idea" Sofia admits.

Sofia hugs her sister, and whispers into her ear; "Good luck and good-bye. I love you, Rose."

Lynda, Sofia, Jack and the two Game Station workers, head down to floor zero in an attempt to get the people down there to volunteer to help them fight the Daleks. They didn't get all that many.

"When you hear us fighting up there," Jack shouts, "When you hear us dying, then tell me that Daleks don't exist!"

They head back up towards the top of the station. Jack places Lynda on what he hopes is a safe position. He tells her that her job is to monitor the Daleks' progress. Jack wants to put Sofia in a similar position, but he's too scared of what she'll do to him if he tries.

The handful of people that they have to fight off the Daleks, take up positions. The Daleks start to come.

The Doctor and Rose are working on the wires.

"I know that this probably won't work," Rose states, "But couldn't you take the TARDIS and go back to last week and warn them?"

"Once the TARDIS lands somewhere, it becomes a part of events." The Doctor answers gruffly.

"I thought it would be something like that." Rose admits.

"There's another thing we could use the TARDIS for." The Doctor claims.

"What?" Rose questions.

"We could let history take its course and go visit a beach in 1467." The Doctor claims.

"Yeah," Rose concedes, "But, you would never do that."

"You could ask," the Doctor realizes something, "That never even occurred to you, did it?"

"I'm just too good!" Rose states proudly.

It's silent for a few seconds.

"Rose!" the Doctor exclaims, "You're a genius! If I go back and rewrite my own timeline!" The Doctor leads Rose into the TARDIS. "Just hold that button down while I go power up the Game Station!"

Rose complies while the Doctor bounds out of the TARDIS. Once outside the TARDIS, the Doctor's cheery expression drops. He aims the sonic-screwdriver at the TARDIS, and presses the button. The TARDIS's doors close, and she takes off.

Jack calls in asking Rose to read something for him.

"Rose is gone." The Doctor replies, sullenly.

"Hell of a time to take a leak!" Jack cries.

"I mean she's gone."

"You sent her home."

'I sent her away.' The Doctor thinks.

"Will the Delta Wave be ready in time?" Jack inquires.

"Tell him the truth, Doctor!" the Dalek Emperor screeches, "There is every chance that the Delta Wave will be ready in time, but no way of refining it. It will kill all, Dalek and human alike."

"That's the choice I have to make," the Doctor admits, "For everyone, live as a Dalek, or die as a human."

"I'd go for the die as a human option," Sofia's voice chimes in, "If my opinion counts for anything."

"Do it" Jack concurs.

Rose, heartbroken, walks out of the TARDIS. She sees Mickey running towards her.

"You're back!" he wraps her up into a hug. "Where's Sofia?"

"She's still there." Rose says in a bit of a daze.

"In the TARDIS?" Mickey asks.

"There!" Rose cries.

"I think you need some chips." Mickey drags Rose to a chippy.

Mickey attempts to engage Rose in small talk, or any talk at all, really. After a few minutes, Rose finally breaks.

"How can you just sit there eating chips when in the year 200,100 the Doctor and Sofia are dying in an attempt to save the world?!" Rose snaps.

"What?!" it's Mickey's turn to snap.

"You heard me!" Rose cries.

"Sofia's dying in the year 200,100 and you're here?!" Mickey exclaims.

"Yes!" Rose shouts.

Not long later, Mickey is using his car in an attempt to pry open the TARDIS's console.

"Please help me get back to them!" Rose is pleading with the TARDIS. "The Doctor is dying up there. So is Sofia, my sister!"

As Rose mentions Sofia, the panel opens. Rose looks into the heart of the TARDIS.

Jack and Sofia are the last two left fighting the Daleks. They are facing down three Daleks.

"Sofia," Jack says, "I'm going to try to distract them. I want you to run."

"I'm going down fighting!" Sofia protests.

"Please," Jack pleads, "I'm begging you to try and save yourself!"

"Why do you care so much?!" Sofia demands.

"I'm going to die soon anyway," Jack admits, "There isn't a whole lot you can do to me in that time for admitting it."

"What?!" Sofia cries.

"I think, I love you!" Jack shouts, "I know I'm too old for you and such..."

This was the last thing Sofia expected to hear from Jack. She pauses.

"Well?" Jack is very nervous.

Sofia reaches up and gives him a strong kiss on the lips. When she releases him, Sofia runs. She uses her light saber to deflect the extermination beam that one of the Daleks shoots at her.

"What was that?" Jack demands.

"My first kiss!" Sofia calls over her shoulder.

As she does this, one of the Daleks cries "EXTERMINATE!" Jack falls to the ground, dead.

Sofia pushes back her emotions, and runs towards the Doctor, occasionally using her light saber to deflect the killer beams. She joins the Doctor.

"Coward," the Doctor is admitting as she arrives, "Every time."

The Doctor takes his hand off of the lever that would have activated the Delta Wave.

"Jack didn't die in a desperate attempt to buy you enough time to use that thing just for you to chicken out!" Sofia yells at him.

Sofia places her own hand on the lever. "Since you won't do it," Sofia claims, "I will. These Daleks will all die today, I can feel it."

The sound of the TARDIS materializing stops her. Rose steps out of the TARDIS, bathed in a golden light.

"I am the Bad Wolf!" she proclaims. "I take these words and spread them across time and space as a message to lead myself here."

"What did you do?" the Doctor cries in horror.

"I looked into the TARDIS, and she looked into me." Bad Wolf claims.

"IT IS THE ABOMINATION!" a Dalek shouts.

A Dalek shoots an extermination ray at Bad Wolf. Bad Wolf stops the ray with her hand and sends it back to the Dalek.

"Rose," the Doctor pleads, "You have to stop this!"

"I want you safe, my Doctor." Bad Wolf announces, "Protected from the false god."

"I am immortal!" the Emperor proclaims.

"You are tiny!" Bad Wolf insists, "I see your atoms, and I scatter them."

The Daleks start dissolving into dust.

"You have to stop this!" the Doctor claims.

"How could I give up this power?" Bad Wolf asks, "I bring life!"

Jack wakes up.

"No one can control life and death." The Doctor says.

"But I can." Bad Wolf admits, "The sun, the moon, and the stars. I control them all. I can see everything. Why does it hurt?"

"That's what I see," the Doctor informs, "Everyday, doesn't just drive you mad."

"My head!" Bad Wolf complains, "Is killing me!"

"I think you need a Doctor." The Doctor kisses Rose and draws the Time Vortex out off her. He gives it back to the TARDIS. Rose collapses in his arms.

The Doctor carries Rose back into the TARDIS. Sofia follows shortly behind. The Doctor puts the TARDIS into the Time Vortex. Rose wakes up.

"What's happening?" Rose demands.

"He took the Time Vortex into himself." Sofia says quietly. She is sitting on the floor with her back against the wall within arm's length of one of the coral struts, and within arm's length of the door. Well I say sitting, but curled up into a little ball would be more accurate.

"No one's supposed to do that." The Doctor explains. "Now every cell in my body is dying."

"Can't you do anything about it?" Rose pleads.

"I'm doing it right now." The Doctor admits. "Time Lords have this way of cheating death, but it means I'm going to change. I was going to take you two to so many different places, Barcelona, the planet, not the city. They've got dogs with no noses. No matter how many times you tell that joke, it never gets old."

"Why can't we go?" Rose asks.

"You might, I might, but not like this, not with this daft old face." The Doctor concedes.

"Does that mean I won't be able to call you 'elephant', anymore?" Sofia asks.

"I'm dying, and that's the first question that you ask?" the Doctor says in shock.

"What's happening?" Rose cries.

"I'm regenerating. Before I go," the Doctor says, "I just want to say that you were fantastic, absolutely fantastic. You know what? So was I!"

The Doctor disappears into a golden light. When it fades a man with fantastic hair, who happens to be super skinny is standing in the Doctor's place, wearing his clothing.

"Where was I?" the man asks, "Oh, that's right, Barcelona!"
