Elena grabbed my hand and I could feel her heart rate climbing. "Nervous, love?" I whispered in her ear.

"I've never flown before." She said quietly.

"You will be fine, darling. Honestly, it helps to look out the window, the view is amazing." I told her, opening the shades to the window next to us. Jeremy and Jenna opened their windows as well. Elena's eyes widened in amazement as she watched the clouds slowly fall underneath us, seeing the world itself curve off into the distance.

"This is so beautiful." She whispered, just staring outside.

"Just wait for the sunset, my love, its magical from above the clouds." I said truthfully. It was a magical sight to see.

After a few hours, the sun began to set, seeing as we were flying east. It was a magnificent sight, with loads of colors. A sight I would never tire of seeing in the thousand years of my life. After the darkness had taken over, I informed them that it would still be a few more hours before we would arrive and to get some sleep, for it would be morning in Italy upon our arrival.

I chose to stay awake, and couldn't help but watch the woman I loved, quietly mumble my name in her sleep. As we arrived, I woke Elena up in just enough time to let her see the sunrise over the colosseum.

"That, my darling, is where we will be getting married, at sunset." I told her, watching her expression light up like fireworks.

"How did you- wait never mind. You have connections." She said laughing. "Why the colosseum?" She asked curiously.

"It is one of the few great places left standing on this earth that is older than I am. It intrigues me." I told her sincerely.

"Well, it is perfect." She said, kissing me softly.

After landing, I had a car waiting for us at the airport. Within minutes we were pulling up to my villa on the outskirts of Rome. The villa, which was nearly 600 years old itself, was still in pristine condition. I hadn't been here in a couple hundred years and it still looked the exact same. We had people who worked here at all times, keeping it up. To them, this place must have looked almost like a castle, to which I owned a few of those as well.

"This is where we are staying?" Elena asked in shock as we got out of the car.

"Yes, darling. I have homes almost everywhere." I told her. "You two, get your jaws off the ground and lets get inside, I would like to show you around." I told the other two who were staring.

"How old is this place?" Elena asked curiously, sliding her hands along the stone walls.

"It was built in 1402, darling. I lived here for close to a hundred years." I responded.

"This is where you lived 600 years ago?" Jeremy asked with his eyebrows raised. I took Elena's hand and walked slowly through the corridors, showing each room, still with many things from that time, untouched.

"Yes, I built it. Feel free to look around, Elena may I show you something." I asked quickly. She nodded her hand and I began running at human speed down the corridor, out to the back courtyard.

"This is amazing, Kol, I can't believe you built this." She said in awe of her surroundings. I smiled down at her then walked over to one particular wall. I pulled the vines aside to show her. My initials "K.M. 1402" were carved into the stone, just as I had remembered doing so all those centuries ago. "You know, for an old man, you have an excellent memory, Lord Mikaelson."

"Darling, you wound me. Im only what, a thousand and some odd years old? I'm still young!" I said, laughing.

"Kol, what year were you born?" She asked randomly as we began walking down the corridor to show her our chambers.

"I was born in the year 982. I was nineteen years old when we were turned, in the year 1001, only days away from my birthday. So, my darling, I, too, am an eternal teenager, just like you." I told her. I had always hated the fact that I never got to technically see my 20th birthday.

"When is your birthday?" she asked curiously, holding my hand.

"On September 5th, I will be 1032 years old, darling." I told her as we reached the door to our chambers.

"Wow. And to think I'm only going to be 19 and that feels like its taken forever to reach!" She said, laughing.

"As a vampire, life tends to pass you by much quicker it seems." I told her as I opened the large wooden double doors. She gasped at how beautiful it was in our room, and I watched as she explored. Eventually her eyes settled on the stone balcony. As she walked outside, I remembered how different it looked back then. Now there were many more modern buildings, but it still was breathtaking. From the balcony, you could see all of Rome and the Vatican.

"I can't believe this is yours." She said as I approached her from behind, winding my arms around her waist, resting my chin on her shoulder.

"As of tonight, it will be yours as well, my love." I whispered into her ear.

"Are you going to show me every house you own?" She asked laughing softly.

"Of course, darling. What's mine is yours, and I intend on showing you everything." I told her, turning her around to kiss her passionately. "Now, here is my credit card. I want you and Jenna to go into town with the maid and pick out a dress for tonight and whatever else you wish. There is no spending limit, so don't hold back, love. Jeremy and I will be making sure everything is arranged for this evening." I told her, handing her the piece of plastic, watching her face light up like a child in a candy store.

"You are going to spoil me, aren't you?" She asked, laughing. I picked her up with her legs around my waist, and kissed her passionately.

"Do you expect any less, darling? I will spoil you for the rest of eternity." I said smirking at her playfully. Her chocolate brown eyes warming me to my core, searching deep into my soul, it seemed.

"Meet you at the alter." She said, as she walked out of the room.

"I'll be waiting." I responded as she smiled and blew me a kiss before going off to find Jenna.

I went to find Jeremy a few minutes after I heard the car drive off. He was looking out at Rome from the back terrace.

"Enjoying the view, mate?" I asked him as I approached the railing next to him.

"Yeah, its great. You know, I never thought I would be able to do this. I'm in Rome, getting to see my sister get married, I'm alive, you're alive, Jenna's alive. Thank you. Not just for saving us, but for making my sister happy." He said to me with sincerity.

"Her happiness and safety will always be my top priority. She has taught me so much, and when she was compelled to forget our time together, I didn't know what to do with myself. It was so much pain but I refused to turn my emotions off, because of her. Then I had to come back, and ended up getting myself killed because I couldn't stay away." I said, trying not to remember it very much.

"I'm still sorry about that, man." Jeremy said, patting me on the shoulder.

"We've been over it a thousand times, mate. There is no hard feelings. Now, on to brighter topics, other than our deaths. We need to go get our tux's, and meet up with a few important people that are making tonight possible." I said, trying to lighten the mood. "And yes, mate, you have to wear a tux. Your sister would be furious if you didn't." I told him, hearing him groan.
