Disclaimer- I own nothing

We were about 30 mins outside of New Orleans when Caroline woke up. Elena was still sleeping peacefully and I didn't want to wake her just yet.

"You really do love her." Caroline stated.

"More than anything." I responded, smiling as I looked over to Elena, still sleeping in the passenger seat with a blanket.

"I wish I could have a love like that. I thought her and Stefan were epic, but the way you two are together- that's epic. It's like you two are meant for one another." Caroline said, leaning up in between the two front seats.

"Funny you should mention that. When I was on the other side, it was like the witches who had been there knew I was coming back. They showed me things. Let me in on some supernatural secrets. What Elena and I have is very special and very very rare. We are bound. It happened during our wedding ceremony when we pledged ourselves to one another. It was a very magical moment. All I'm saying is to not count yourself out just yet." I said, winking to her. I didn't tell her that she was mated to my brother, just hinted a little.

"Do you think that he still wants me? I have pushed him away and lied to him a countless number of times. Don't you think that would deter him? I mean he has been around forever, and Im only a baby vampire." Caroline asked sadly.

"He would wait an eternity for you, Caroline. You know how I know that? Because I would do the exact same for Elena. I have been around 'forever' as you call it, and she is even younger as a vampire than you. That means nothing to us. You have a certain power over Nik, just as Elena has power over me - don't let her know that - and believe me, he wants nothing more than to have you for himself." I told her truthfully.

"Do you think he would mind me calling him Nik? Klaus just reminds me of the bad side of him and its not necessarily something I want to remember." She asked hesitantly. I laughed a bit.

"I think you should try it for yourself. I want you to personally see his reaction to that." I said, chuckling, she looked at me nervously. "Don't worry, it definitely wont be a bad reaction." I reassured her, seeing her expression relax.

"I think I've always known, somewhere deep down. I've always been second best. To Matt, Tyler, Stefan, Damon, my dad, my mom. But when I'm around Nik, he treats me like I'm the center of the universe, even when I was playing distraction. And even though he is pretty much the most dangerous person in the world, I feel like I will alway be safe around him. I've hidden it for so long, but when you showed me about Tyler, I decided I wasn't going to hide anymore." She said sounding like she was trying to convince herself instead of me.

"I suggest you prepare yourself now, we will be there in about 5 minutes and it might get interesting." I warned her. "You will have to go in first, he doesn't know I'm alive just yet. Just tell him you brought him a surprise." I said, winking at her.

"Ugh, really? No one even warned him that we were coming? What if he's not there?" Caroline said, starting to worry.

"Don't worry, he is there. I have connections. Now, all you have to do is walk inside and say his name. I guarantee you he will be down the stairs in seconds." I said, laughing because I knew it was true.

We pulled into the driveway and I woke Elena up quickly. I nodded to Caroline, who knew what she needed to do. She walked up to the door, took a deep breath and opened it.

"Niklaus Mikaelson" She said in a soft tone upon entering the house. As I said, within seconds, a tired looking Nik had flashed infront of her at the doorway.

"Caroline, is that really you? Why are you here?" He asked, brushing her cheek.

"Yep, it's me. I decided to take you up on your offer, even if I didn't get those first-class tickets you told me about. Oh, and I brought a surprise for you." Nik looked completely shocked. I knew he wasn't expecting her.

"You are surprise enough, love. What could be more?" He asked curiously. I took that as my cue, and Elena and I stepped out of the SUV, walking up to the house. It was still night, so he couldn't tell who it was until we got to the porch.

I honestly never saw my brother speechless until now. Not in a thousand years.

"I watched you die." He murmured, a single tear escaping his eye.

"Alas, I did die. Spent about a month on the other side, learned some interesting tid-bits of information- vital to you, of course- then the Bennett witch dropped the veil for a minute or two, and voila, here I am." I said, gesturing my hands at myself.

"So you- you're alive?" Nik asked cautiously.

"Here to stay, with a couple new improvements, I might add." I said, smugly. "Oh, and may I introduce you to your new sister-in-law, Elena Mikaelson." I added, seeing his jaw about drop. "I take it our dear brother Elijah didn't tell you. Oh well, now you know. So can we take this conversation inside?" I asked, relishing in my brother's speechlessness.

"Of course." He said, letting the ladies inside, blocking off my path for a few seconds before deciding to wrap me in a brotherly embrace.

"We will get to the reason we are here in a minute, I would suggest you listen to your woman first." I whispered to him, who nodded slightly and walked into the sitting room where the girls were waiting.

"So my sweet Caroline, what brings you to New Orleans?" Nik asked as we sat down.

"Well, Nik, I am here to stay, if you will have me." The reaction on Nik's face was priceless.

"Say it again." He whispered to her, his face in disbelief.

"I said, Im here to stay, Nik." She said, putting emphasis on his name. In a split second, he had his hands running through her hair, looking deep into her eyes for any sign of doubt, the he finally kissed the girl. Elena and I looked at each other and smiled, then started looking elsewhere in the room and whistling. After about a minute, they finally got the point and broke apart, gasping for air.

"About time." I said, letting out a breath.

"If that's the response I get when I say your name, I might start saying it all the time." Caroline said, fixing her hair.

"Please do" Nik whispered in her ear.

"Please don't" I said to no one in particular.

"Anyways, I also have some information for you, regarding a certain were-slut that is around here somewhere, I'm sure." Caroline said, bringing the feisty back.

"Caroline… I-" Nik began, but Caroline put her hand up to his mouth.

"I don't want to hear it, Nik. Especially since the little were-slut's spawn isn't yours." She said, effectively capturing his full attention.

"What do you mean- the witches were certain." Nik said, trying to wrap his head around the idea.

"The witches only know that its the child of a hybrid. They didn't know which hybrid, only assuming it was you. It's Tyler's." She said, letting out a long breath.

"How do you know for certain?" He asked insistently.

"Kol?" She asked, motioning for me to do the image thing I did to her. I nodded, getting up to put my hands around Nik's head, letting the vision pour in.

"Well then, looks like I have some witches to pay a visit to, now don't I?" Nik said, getting angry. I nodded to Caroline who knew what she had to do.

"No. You, Niklaus Mikaelson are not going anywhere near those witches, or so help me you will never see me again." Caroline said with fury. Even I was a bit intimidated.

"Now, Caroline, thats not really fair, now is it, love?" Nik said, trying to persuade her.

"You heard me, Niklaus. Now promise, or I'm leaving." She said confidently.

"Not even one?" Nik asked, like a little child. I almost laughed.

"No. Now if you don't mind, why don't you take me to go see your little witchy friends. Oh and the were-slut too. I have a few choice words to say, and I don't think you'll mind, now will you?" Damn she had him wrapped around her finger.

"Go right ahead, love. Since you wont let me kill them, I might as well take pleasure watching them squirm under your fury." Nik said, laughing.

"Hell hath no fury like a Barbie Vampire scorned." I whispered to Elena.

"I heard that." Caroline said glaring at me. I heard Nik chuckle and she punched him in the arm. He raised his hands in defeat.

"Alright, alright, now are we going to go or not?" Nik said, motioning for us to go to the car. He gave me the 'we are going to talk later' look gesturing beween Elena and I.

As we got into my SUV, Nik sat in the back with Caroline. He pulled out his phone and dialed a number quickly.

"Ah, Sophie Devereaux, there has been a new development. Gather the coven and meet at the Cemetery in 15 minutes. Bring the wolf." He said before he hung up the phone.

"Same Cemetery, brother?" I asked as I began to drive.

"The very one." He replied. Elena gave me a small questioning look and I motioned I would tell her later.

Within 10 minutes, we had arrived at a very old looking cemetery full of tall mausoleums. I remembered it well and walked to the entrance. Nik and I stepped through easily, but the girls were stuck by the barrier. I looked at Nik, who was looking at me strangely.

"You are supposed to have an invitation, because it is sacred ground." He said confused as to how I was inside.

"Well, ladies, please come in." I said, motioning for them to come in, and it worked. Nik looked like a deer caught in headlights. I winked at him and suddenly made all the candles and lamps in the cemetery light up.

"You aren't the only Original Hybrid anymore, brother." I whispered in his ear.
