Arilid charged at the bandits and slashed a nordic archer across the back. The other bandits all surrounded Arilid, keeping their distance from his sword. They kept on trying to stab him in the back, but he swung around, they retreated every time.
Lydia charged in and met a bandit with a stab in their back, Ria kept her distance, not only fighting off those who went past Lydia, but helping Lydia with a flanking maneuver. Brelyna conjured up a frost atronach and started shooting fireballs at bandit that were in a tight formation and firebolts at lone bandits. J'zargo shot various destruction spell as the bandits from ice spikes, to firebolt, to lighting bolt. Any that got close were welcomed by a paralyze spell and flames. Ralof shot arrows at bandits that were too far to hit for the mages and light armored bandits or those that didn't wear a helm. Any bandit that try to get behind company were hacked down by Ralof, some of them didn't have time to draw their weapons. Onmund was the most useful, he used invisibility spell and attack groups of bandits with chain lightning, quickly returning to the shadows with the invisibility spell.
The battle was going well, they may have been out numbered 3 to 1, but the bandits were under armored, the formation left the bandits either charging head on or few sneaking around to the back which never worked. Arilid fought hard, he was quick, most attacks missed him or barely penetrating his armor at all. His sword was different than before. It swung faster and cut through armor better than before, the shield on the other hand gave little protection, is needed to be improved, probably needed a dragon soul too.
Arilid hacked and slashed, and followed by a great pain. Arilid turned to see a nordic man in heavy nordic armor that glowed with enchantments. He swung his ebony greatsword down with great force. Arilid had enough time to block with the shield, but was staggered back. What Arilid guessed was the bandit chief swung his sword left and right, occasionally trying to stab Arilid, most of his attempts were useless since Arilid lost the shield and went for a more light footed strategy, taking the hit will not work.
"What's wrong, you afraid to fight a real nord." The bandit chief taunted and performed a downward slash at Arilid, who dodged with a roll behind the large man.
"I do not fear you, I am smart enough to know that I need to be quick to beat you." A bandit that appeared to be a imperial woman came with a dagger behind him. Arilid moved to the side pushed the woman to the ground, Arilid then went down on a knee bringing his sword down into her back.
The bandit chief swung his sword sideways, Arilid jumped backwards and stumbled. He found himself on his back with the bandit chief walking toward him with a swagger in his step.
Lydia saw this and charged at the bandit chief, but other bandits blocked her way. Brelyna and J'zargo had no clear shot at the chief and Onmund was out of magicka. Ralof too was too far to shoot the chief and Ria was doing her best to not let the others behind be flooded with bandits.
A wild cry broke from the bandits, Arilid didn't know what, but he had a idea "Dur ne- Huahh" The bandit chief kicked Arilid in the ribs with great force. Arilid was now on his stomach, doing his best to stand. The bandit chief pushed him down again with his foot. Arilid couldn't fight back not shout, he was to weak to shout.
The bandit laughed menacingly, Arilid saw the greatsword was lying on his back lazily, "Pathetic, you are a weak and stupid to come here. You will die on this day along with your friends." The bandit chief raised his blade. Arilid closed his eyes and heard a painful thunk like a axe thrown into someone's back, but Arilid felt no pain. He didn't feel the weight on his back any longer. Arilid opened his eyes and the man was gone. Arilid went for his sword again. He saw the chief fighting a orc in orcish armor.
The orc was of course tall and carried a dwarven battleaxe with a blade that glowed red from enchantments. The fight seems to be even, the armor was both around same strength and weapons strong as well, but it comes down to experience, and the enchantments. They clashed and clashed again the orc hacked through the armor and have a fire enchantment, and the nord quickly pushed to the defensive. The orc grabbed the blade of the greatsword with the axe blade and pulled it down. The nord was brought down and the orc kicked the nord in the face. The same time disarming the chief. The rest of the bandits took notice and watched the orc grab the nord and pulled off his helmet. The nord looked at the orc with fear, the nord used his free hand and pushed the orc. The nord was free and scrambled for his sword. The orc used his battleaxe pushed it against the nord's throat. He tried to push it away but the orc was too powerful. He then headbutted the nord over and over and over again.
The nordic bandit chief fell to the ground now dead. The rest of the bandits ran from the fight and those who stayed and continued to fight was killed by arrows and magic. The fight was done most of them were uninjured, Arilid was not one of them.
