Part Three

A Healer's Touch

Guy awoke to the rocking of the ship. The woman came up to him.

"Marian I must be dreaming." he moaned

"Then it must be a good dream." she said. Her voice was not Marian's he realized with a start, nor the voice of Hood's Saracen girl; Djaq. It was a slight Irish brogue and this woman's hair was fiery red. Scarlet. Her eyes a mossy smudged green.

"Who are you?" he asked narrowing his eyes.

"I am the cousin of the man you saved and a healer to some degree."

"Your name woman." he demanded

"Lady Megan Bennett but most call me Meg." she said.

He smiled lopsidedly.

"I owe you my life m'lady."

They journeyed onwards to England. Everyday Meg wound come changed his bandages and check his wounds. They would talk about things. What life was like for both of them and how Guy came to be the almost would-be murderer of the Lionheart, who was returning with them to set his brother straight. He'd see Hood's gang out of the corner of his eye but never the man himself nor did he see Marian until when they had almost reached Portsmouth. She came to check on him one night.

"Marian. I am so sorry about everything." He said.

"Hush. I am fine. Be happy. I have the belief that we will remain good friends." Marian smiled at him and hugged him lightly.

"Oh and-she whispered into his ear- I have a feeling someone is falling for you."

He held Marian close for a moment.

"What makes you say this?" He whispered back. She winked.

"Woman's intuition."

They made port three days later. Hood, Marian and the Gang went their separate ways for the meantime from Guy and the King's retinue. Meg went with King Richard and Guy, who was worried. Soon they left for Westminster in London. Prince John was exiled for a time and Vaisey was executed. Richard warned Guy if he ever decided to think of regicide again he might face a similar end. Guy nodded his understanding. Robin was given his title and lands back, the merry men and woman were pardoned. Robin and Marian were married shortly after. Guy looked almost expectantly at Meg when he asked her. They waited about three months to wed. His second chance was in his grasp. He seized, without a doubt.

Soon they were blessed with twins. A boy and a girl. Marian and Robin were made god parents much at the insistence of Meg. Guy of Gisborne however only lived to see his children grow to be thirteen years old. His heart could not stand stress anymore. Meg prayed hard everyday until she died that he wouldn't be in hell and that the moment when they would reunite would only feel like minutes to him.

Both prayers were granted. In heaven they found each other. At peace at last Guy of Gisborne was happier than he'd ever been on earth.
