Description: She wanted him to notice her no matter what it took or who it hurt in the process.

AN: This is based on 1x19 "The Fog" where Gina fights with Jessica to get attention from Lucas.

Gina sighed. What would it take to get him to notice me? She thought sadly.

Once again, her gaze had fallen upon the boy she had fallen in love with at first sight- Lucas. He was sat alone on the stands, watching the game intently. Gina approached him and said, "Lucas!"

Lucas looked up when he heard his name. Upon seeing her, he smiled, "Hey, Gina! I feel really bad that you lost your mascot gig. I know how much it meant to you."

Suddenly an idea began formulating in Gina's head. She moved closer to him and leaned against his shoulder. "Oh, Lucas, thank you for understanding! I don't know how I'm ever going to get over this!"

Just then, they heard footsteps. Looking up, Gina saw her best friend, Jessica, dressed in the mascot costume and holding the head under her arm. "So...any news?"

"What are you doing here?" Gina suddenly snapped, causing Jessica to look at her in surprise. "Haven't you caused me enough pain?"

Jessica raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me, what?"

Gina stood up quickly. "All I ever wanted to be was the school mascot and you stole my dreams!" Part of her felt bad about using Jessica to make Lucas feel sorry for her, but she really wanted him to notice her, no matter what it took.

Jessica looked, if possible, even more confused. "But I thought you were okay with it!"

Gina glared at her. "And I thought you-" she pointed at Jessica, "-were a friend! But you're nothing but a traitor!"

Ignoring the slight guilt she felt, she threw her arms around Lucas, sobbing loudly as she buried her face in his shoulder. Lucas awkwardly hugged her back in an attempt to get her to stop crying. He felt bad for her and wanted to cheer her up.

Feeling Lucas' arms around her, Gina felt her lips curve into a smile that was hidden from view. She had finally gotten him to notice her!

The niggling feeling of guilt returned. She would have to explain everything to Jessica...if she would be willing to listen. Gina wanted Lucas to notice her but she also didn't want to lose her best friend. I have to explain why I treated her so badly!

Later on, after their team had won yet again, Gina approached her friend on the pitch. "Jessica, we need to talk."

Her friend looked at her incredulously. "What, so you can yell at me some more? You're just jealous because everyone wants me to be the mascot!"

Gina shook her head. "No, that's not true!"

Jessica continued furiously. "If I'm the good-luck charm for the team, that means you were the bad-luck charm holding them back!"

Her feelings hurt, Gina retaliated with, "Well, maybe the only reason our team wins is because the other team gets so distracted by your lame mascot performance!"

There was an awkward silence as the two girls glared at each other before turning away and huffing as they both stormed off.

Gina sat on a bench, silently fuming. How could she say all that horrible stuff? Suddenly, though, her anger dissipated and she started to feel very bad. I said some pretty awful things, too, though.

I've messed everything up! She thought miserably. All I wanted was for Lucas to notice me but all I've really done is hurt a good friend! What have I done?

AN: I ended it like this to show that when you try to get someone to notice you, you can end up hurting others and then feel guilty about it. Poor Gina :-(/p
