Description: Nothing could have prepared her for the words he had just spoken.
AN: Okay, so I thought I'd try another diary entry. This time, it will be from Jessica's POV. Enjoy!
Dear diary,
As you know, Toby and I have been dating a while- three months, two weeks and five days, if you want me to be precise.
Neither of us had ever said those words to each other. You know, the three little words that can completely change the dynamic of a couple's relationship? At least, not before today...
We had spent the whole day on a date as the Lava Gormiti appeared to have taken a day off on their destroy-the-world schedules, which meant that we were free to spend some time together so we seized the opportunity with both hands.
First we went to see a movie together. It was a horror film with some romance in as well. Although it wasn't very scary, I pretended it was so I could cuddle up to him. I suspect he knew that I wasn't actually afraid at all, but he didn't say anything. He just kept holding me for the duration of the movie and I couldn't have felt happier.
After the movie ended, we went to the all-you-can-eat restaurant down the street where we had a competition to see who could eat the most ice cream. We ended up in a tie because, eventually neither of us could bring ourselves to eat another scoop. We had a short debate about who should pay for the food. In the end, I gave in and let him pay as he wouldn't hear anything against it. That's one of the things we have in common- we're both ridiculously stubborn.
Once we had left, it was getting quite late and night was starting to fall. The sky was turning red as the sun started to set. He took hold of my hand and we walked, heading for home. We headed toward the park, which wasn't far from our homes, and we sat down on one of the benches.
I don't think either of us wanted the day to end. I had never felt so happy in all my life.
Whilst we sat on the bench, we talked. Some of the things we talked about were important, some weren't. The interesting thing was that we couldn't take our eyes off each other (something Nick and Lucas like to tease us about). It was like we were the only people in the world.
Eventually we realized we had to go and he took hold of my hand again. Unfortunately, when I stood up, I tripped spectacularly and ended up pulling him down with me.
"Didn't realize you were falling for me!" He joked, looking down at me. Suddenly his expression changed and he gazed into my eyes with an emotion I had never seen before. "Then again, I fell for you a long time ago."
I was confused at first. I didn't know what he was saying. He couldn't mean what I thought he meant, could he?
"What I'm saying is...I love you." He said nervously. My reaction was to blink several times at him before squeaking, "R-Really?" Yes, that was actually how I reacted!
He nodded slowly. I felt that nothing could have prepared me for that confession. I didn't know what to do but I felt really bad when he told me he didn't expect me to say anything if I wasn't ready.
As I'm sitting here, one recurring thought keeps running through my mind: Do I love him?
It takes me only a few minutes to realize that I don't need to think about it. Of course I love him! I always have and nothing could stop me!
So I can write it down on paper, now I just need to actually tell him. There's nothing stopping me since I know we both feel the same.
I'm going now. Wish me luck!
Jessica
