Description: She knew something was stopping him being able to fully admit his love but even the truth could never stop her love for him.

AN: As I mentioned before, this is the sequel to Remember. Thank you all for reading and enjoy the chapter! ^^

"Come on! Please work! Please work!" Jessica urged the crystals on the control panel, as though they had suddenly gained auditory powers and could hear what she was saying. She had been feverishly trying to contact her friends since she had caught a glimpse of them in the now - destroyed Temple of Light.

Razzle suddenly gasped as Jessica cried out, "Supreme Luminous!"

"The big guy himself!" Razzle said in awe. Sure enough, Supreme Luminous had materialized in the Primal Pad along with Nick, Lucas and Toby.

"You're really here!" She whispered. All of a sudden, she leapt out of the Keeper's Chair and rushed headlong towards them. A pair of arms wrapped around her and she leaned into them, whispering, "You came back..."

Toby held her tenderly. "I promised you that I would, didn't I? That I'd always be there to love you." She smiled through her tears and hugged him back whilst Nick and Lucas looked blankly at one another.

"Do either of you want to tell us what's going on?" Lucas asked cluelessly.

Nick had a amused grin on his face. "Isn't it obvious? They're in love!" He drew out the word "love" in a teasing manner, silently laughing at the blushes on Toby and Jessica's faces.

They looked at each other, knowing they had to talk. Toby glanced at Supreme Luminous who said weakly, "Go, young Lord. You must tell her the truth."

"Truth about what?" Jessica demanded suspiciously.

Toby shook his head. "Not here." He told her. "Come on." Taking hold of her hand, he led her out of earshot.

Once they were far enough away, Jessica folded her arms and said, "What is it? It must be important if you couldn't tell me in front of the others."

She looked at him, watching as he sat down and let out a heavy sigh. He patted the space next to him and she sat down, waiting patiently for him to explain. "Look, Jess, before I tell you anything, I just want you to know that I love you and I always will." Jessica's eyes filled with tears, prompting Tony to nervously ask, "What's wrong?"

"Y-You're going to b-break up with m-me, aren't you?" She let out a choked sob and he immediately held her close to him.

"How could you even think that I'd do that to you?" Toby asked gently and Jessica sniffled, realising that he would never break up with her so soon after they had gotten together. Not unless he had a good reason to, anyway.

"What is it then?" Jessica asked, her voice trembling.

"Do you remember when I left? After I promised you I'd come back?" She nodded.

"I tried to kiss you and you wouldn't let me... Is it because you don't really love me like you said?"

Toby looked into her eyes and sighed again. "No, Jess, it's because I love you." He stood up and began to pace agitatedly. "There's a tradition in the Sea Nation that whoever the Lord of the Sea gives his first kiss to will become their soul mate forever." He looked at her and smiled sadly. "You have no idea how much it hurt me to stop you. But I can't let you ruin your whole future like this..."

"So don't stop me." Jessica whispered. "I know the truth now, and I'm not going anywhere...ever. Don't you see, Toby? You're the only one I'll ever want to be with! And if that means becoming your soul mate , then I will be gladly."

He cupped her face in his hands. "Are you sure?" He asked. "There's no going back after this." She nodded slowly, a smile on her face as he leaned down towards her. "I love you..." he breathed, before closing the gap between them.

Jessica thought she had died and gone to heaven, as cliché as that sounded in her head. She had been dreaming of this moment for so long that she couldn't believe it was real. She couldn't be sure but something in her heart told her Toby felt exactly the same. It was just one of those things where you had a feeling relatable to someone else.

Neither of them noticed the bright light surrounding them until it flew into their bodies, making them feel so much power and love for one another. They knew in that moment that their souls had bonded and they felt stronger together.

They broke apart just as Nick approached. "There you are!" He cried with relief. "We all saw a light and Razzle wondered if you'd broken any of the magical objects down here." He looked mainly at Toby as he said this.

"No, we haven't broken anything, Nick," Jessica smiled. "We've just made sure we'll never be broken apart."

Nick was confused. "What do you mean?"

"Jessica and I are soul mates now. Together we're stronger but if one of us is hurt, then the other will be hurt too. But there's no way I'd ever let that happen." Toby replied. They started walking back toward the others, Toby's arm around Jessica's waist as he held her close, intent on never letting her go.

"I'm still confused." Lucas said to Nick as they arrived back at the Gorm Gate. "Are those two together or something?" Nick rolled his eyes - Lucas still seemed to be clueless when it came to romance.

"They're soul mates, Lucas." Nick informed him.

"What?" Lucas yelled excitedly. "Since when? Wait, does that mean you guys are technically married, at least in Gorm?"

"Calm down, Lucas!" Toby said in alarm before saying, "Wow, I never thought I'd say that!"

"Since about ten minutes ago." Jessica piped up, smiling at Toby.

Toby added. "Well, my people will see her as my queen now so, yeah, I suppose we are. Jess'll be counting down the days until we can get married on Earth too."

Jessica leaned her head against his shoulder. "You know me so well."

She felt a burst of love in her heart as Toby whispered for only her to hear, "Well, I love you and that's the truth."

AN: Okay, so in Returning Fire, I wrote about Jessica and Toby being soul mates so I thought it would be fun to write about how they became soul mates. I hope you enjoyed this! ^^
