Description: She had no idea why she was suddenly so interested in him.
Gina's POV
I don't know why I'm currently standing in the cafétéria, a lost look on my face. Perhaps it's because I am genuinely lost or maybe it's because I saw a guy and my heart started racing. I had never seen him before but he had a charisma about him that most boys of our age lacked.
I see my new best friend Jessica talking to him and resolve to ask her about him later. From what I can see, she knows him quite well. Maybe they're friends. In any case, I hope she introduces me at some point.
Jessica sees me looking and waves me over. I approach, feeling oddly shy. Butterflies are fluttering in my stomach. "Hi, Gina!" She greets, smiling. "Meet Lucas - another good friend of mine."
The boy - Lucas - looks directly at me with a friendly smile and says, "Pleased to meet you, Gina!"
The butterflies are fluttering around in a frenzy as I manage to stutter, "Y-You too, L-Lucas!" Great first impression, Gina! Now he's going to think you're some sort of weirdo who blushes all the time and never knows what to say!
"Well, I'd love to stay and chat but I have to check on the campus garden. People have a habit of using it as a shortcut - they don't care about the wildlife there!" He breathed heavily. "Sorry about that. Anyway see you guys later." He said, before walking through a door adjacent to where we were standing.
Jessica's POV
Gina seemed very flustered. She was still blushing and staring at where we had seen him leave. I decided to bring her back to reality by tapping her shoulder and calling her name. This resulted in her jumping. Clearly she had forgotten I was here.
"I see Lucas made a good impression on you!" I tease, laughing as she gets even more flustered.
"Y-Yeah, he's r-really nice - Jess, stop laughing!" The last part she yelled because I had been unable to hold in my laughter. She gave me an indignant look and I smiled guiltily.
"I'm sorry, Gina, but it's so obvious that you like him!" I say, trying and failing to stop myself giggling.
"W-What?" She yelps, shocked. "That's ridiculous, Jess! Why would I like someone I've only just met?" Even as she speaks, she shifts uncomfortably and I can tell that she does like Lucas.
"Well, you haven't stopped blushing since you saw him and there is a thing called love at first sight, you know!" I tell her and she sighs before she starts smiling.
"He was so charming - and his eyes were so green! I never knew boys could be so kind and considerate!" She gushes and I shake my head. She had just answered her own question!
