"Jackie! Breakfast!" Sally Skelington called up to her and Jack's sixteen year-old daughter, Jaqualine Skelington, or as she prefered, Jackie. The Princess jogged dow the spiral stairs. She was wearing a pair of boots with buttons up the sides and a black dress with a pinstripe apron hung from her neck and wound around her waist. On the pocket was a skull and crossbones. The eyes were hearts.

"Morning Mom," she said sitting down by her father. "Morning Dad." She leaned over to kiss her fathers skull in welcome. her mother set a platter of pancakes before the family.

"So, my dear, what do you have planned for today?" Jack asked his daughter.

"I don't know. Probably read, write, practice with swords and the horses...why? You need me to help with something?" she asked.

"Well, my dear, it is nearing Halloween, our kingdoms holiday. I think it is time you learned the trade of the kingdom. What do you say?" Jackie, who had been looking at her father's eye sockets, looked a bit sullenly at her food.

"What's wrong?" Jack asked. Jackie didn't answer. She wasnt responding.

"Jackie?" Sally touched her daughter's shoulder. The girl threw her head up. Her eyes were a fierce black and she glared at her father and mother. She spoke with multiple voices.

"You have time to prepare. Battle nears. It approaches quickly..." the two looked at each other worried. Jackie fell out of her chair. Her body twitching in spasms of pain. Her parents tried to help her. Before she drifted into unconcisness Jackie turned to her father.

"Can I help this time?" she asked, refering to the battle. Then she was unconcious.

Short chapter I know but it is a work in progress.
