"Have you guys seen Nikita?" Michael asked, walking into the room and looking at Alex, who was sitting on the couch watching the news, and Birkhoff, who was sitting at his desk on his computer while drinking an energy drink. They both shook their heads confused indicating that they hadn't seen her.
"I haven't heard from her since she was talking to you after she got off the phone with that wrong number. Why?" Birkhoff asked.
"I can't find her anywhere." He replied as he looked around the safe house searching for any sign of her.
"Did you try calling her cell?" Alex questioned as she got up from the couch and approached them near where Birkhoff was sitting.
"Yeah, she left it on the counter." Michael answered as he walked over toward the two in order help them retrieve Nikita, or at least figure out her location.
"Maybe she went for a run..." Birkhoff suggested turning around in his chair to face Michael.
"Is the car still here?" Alex asked trying to help figure out if Nikita was at least still near the safe house. Michael looked out the window that allowed him to see the driveway and noticed that the car was not there.
"No..." Michael said then angrily walked into the kitchen to check the phone that Nikita had left behind. The first thing he did was go on her call history, at the top of the screen there had been three missed calls that Michael knew were him and under them, just as he had suspected, came about an hour earlier from a blocked number and Michael then knew what that meant... and who called Nikita. Amanda. "Dammit..."
"What is it, Mikey?" Birkhoff asked standing up anxiously and concerned.
"That 'wrong number' that called Nikita, was Amanda." Michael informed them. Alex and Birkhoff, who had both joined Michael in the kitchen, shared a worried look with each other before looking back at Michael.
Nikita pulled up at an old abandoned building about forty-five minutes away from the team's safe house. She got out of the car and cautiously entered empty run-down building.
"You showed." Amanda said walking out of the shadows. "You didn't even bring a weapon..." she noticed.
"I don't need one... What's wrong with Alex?" Nikita got to the point, as Amanda only smiled back at her. "Dammit Amanda, I'm not here to play games, what's wrong with her?" She insisted one more time, beginning to get more angry than she already was.
"I really thought you would have picked up on it by now." Amanda stated rubbing in the fact that she knew and Nikita didn't.
"Well I haven't." Nikita said angrily defeated and continued to attempt to get a real answer from Amanda without having to deal with her constant mind games.
"Of course not, you've been so obsessed with stopping Percy, stopping Division, that you couldn't have noticed." Amanda continued to try to anger Nikita even more.
"I am not obsessed." Nikita defended herself.
"So you're not denying it?" Amanda persisted in trying to mess with Nikita's mind.
"Denying what?" Nikita asked confused and lost, just wanting to get some answers.
"That taking down Percy and Division is preventing you from realizing what is wrong with Alex." Amanda answered calmly and straight to the point, trying to manipulate her.
"I came here because you promised me answers, and you haven't given me any." She replied angrily, changing the subject to get back on topic.
"Alex had a break down in Division when you guys were fighting." Amanda replied with half an answer.
"And?" Nikita asked not understanding. She knew Alex had been unstable at the time with everything that was going on and wasn't that surprised.
"And she had already been using for quite sometime during that fight." Amanda added to her previous answer.
Nikita stood silently taking in all of the new information. Could she have really missed that much? And had it really been that obvious?
"And she tried to commit suicide." Amanda finished her answer to Nikita bringing her out of her thoughts.
"What?" Nikita replied just above whisper. She stood their in shock not knowing how to react, as her eyes filled slightly with tears.
"Birkhoff, can you track her?" Alex asked as the team searched for a way to locate Nikita.
"I'm working on it." Birkhoff replied as he typed quickly on his keyboard.
"Have you found anything?" Michael asked impatiently two minutes later
"I'm trying." Birkhoff answered raising his voice slightly
"Well try harder." He ordered Birkhoff indignantly walking away toward the laptop on the kitchen counter to continue the search. "Damn it, Nikita." Michael said angrily under his breath. He had just gotten Nikita back, he couldn't loose her again... He wouldn't loose her again.
"We'll find her Michael" Alex reassured him although she was becoming increasingly worried herself as every minute passed by. They all were.
"I got nothing." Birkhoff informed them sighing as anger and worry started to arise within him. "Her tracker isn't showing up on the scan. Which means she's either underground or Amanda jammed the signal." He explained to the rest of the team.
"Dammit." Michael swore under his breath as he walked to the table to grab his gun.
"Whoa, what are you doing?" Birkhoff questioned walking a little closer towards Michael.
"I... am going to get her." Michael answered angrily while loading and checking his gun.
"Do you really think that's a good idea? You have no leads and no way of finding her. What are you just going to go aimlessly looking for her?" Birkhoff tried to deter Michael from going to find her.
"Birkhoff's right Michael. Plus, Nikita is perfectly capable of taking care of herself." Alex agreed with Birkhoff and also tried to help to persuade him to stay in the safe-house.
"So you want to sit around and do nothing when she could be in trouble?" Michael argued back.
"Nikita will be fine, but for now we should wait until we have a solid lead." Alex suggested.
"I agree. We should wait awhile and see what we can find." Birkhoff added in order to create a more convincing argument for Michael to stay.
"Fine." Michael gave up still not completely agreeing with the idea.
The team followed Birkhoff to his desk of computers and continued to do the best they could to find Nikita.
They were all by Birkhoff as he typed on his computer. Then he suddenly got a lead.
"There!" Michael exclaimed pointing to the location shown on Birkhoff screen indicating where his girlfriend was.
Michael and Alex were preparing to leave when Alex came out of her room putting on a jacket while holding a gun.
"What do you think you're doing?" Michael questioned seriously
"I'm coming with you." Alex said determined
"No, you just got away from Amanda and are still recovering, you're not going to fight her. Plus, if Nikita found out that I took you she would be furious." Michael answered in a way that indicated that no matter what Alex says or does, she Michael won't allow her to come.
"Michael..." Alex was about to argue but before she could say anything the door opened and Nikita slowly entered and everyone stared at her in shock and having mixed emotions.
"Where the hell have you been?" Michael asked angrily
