Elizabeth Grant lost her husband Nathan to a fire when he was in the line of duty working as Chief for Denver Fire Department. Nathan's best friend and coworker, Lucas Bouchard took over the duties that he left behind, but lost touch with his widow and children. Will they get back in touch? is Elizabeth ready to move forward and open her heart again?

A Lucas/Elizabeth short story with a bit of mystery and suspense. I do not own rights to these characters.

This is a short story involving Nathan and Allie after the events of the Season 8 Finale May 9th, 2021.

It is February 1918 in Hope Valley. With Fiona and Lucas' wedding and Valentine's Day in the foreground, Elizabeth receives several signs that Nathan is her future and must weigh whether to be bound by fear or let her heart take the leap over fear's barricades.

Elizabeth Thornton is dating Nathan Grant, her deceased husband's partner. However, she doesn't feel any sparks for him and he's in love with his current partner, Fiona. She knows love and knows that she won't settle for anything less than sparks. Lucas Bouchard just moved to town and is raising his daughter alone. After his wife died, he hasn't thought about dating. Until now.

In the aftermath of their whirlwind courtship, Lucas Bouchard and Elizabeth Thornton are on the verge of starting a new life together when tragedy strikes and threatens to destroy it all. But help comes from an unexpected place and new bonds are formed. Pro-Lucas and Nathan in its perspective, it picks up shortly after season 8.

This will be ongoing Nathan and Elizabeth story based upon the actual episodes with Changes made based on discussions of each episodes from S6 to the present.

This is another May Heart Stories Challenge submission, where Lucas's true purpose in inviting Elizabeth to the book reading in Union City is revealed and it is up to others to sort things out.

3 years after attending a Virginia Woolf reading in Union City, Elizabeth and Lucas visit the city again, this time as a married couple.

This is a story based on the Book Reading episode in Season 7 and part of a facegroup page challenge. My research tells me that Virginia Woolf did not visit any part of America at that time, or ever, but I have followed the WCTH story regarding this. I have also surmised that the book being reviewed was The Voyage Out, as it was her first novel which was published at that time.

On her way to Union City, Elizabeth realizes that she’s made a big mistake. When she returns to Hope Valley a little while later, the day takes an unexpected turn.

A 'fix-it' fic for the May Heart Stories Challenge, this takes the S7E7 dinner in a new direction. Nathan and Allie bring supper for Elizabeth, only to find trouble on her doorstep.

After the events of season 8, life changes have brought both Faith and Nathan to Clearwater. Both have moved on from the heartaches they have suffered, but are their hearts truly healed or will it take finding that someone new to truly find Healing. Story begins at the end of 1918. Natha/Faith and Gabriel/Lillian pairings.

Now she sees in hindsight the damage she caused on those around her and realizes the danger she and her son are in from others choices? Will those she hurt be able to figure out what was going on before it's too late? Will the one heart she broke save her and let her prove the love she carries in her heart?
