Chapter 2As lunchtime arrives, Alex and Harper are sitting side-by-side, out on the spring grass.
"So, school is over in two weeks. What are your thoughts?" Alex asks nibbling on her apple.
"Well, school Monday to Friday, this weekend is the sleepover at your place, then school Monday to Friday, and the rest is unknown." Harper smirks.
"Harper, I said thoughts, not plans." Alex giggles.
"Oh, okay. Uhm. How about that I love my painting for Art?"
"I guess that can pass."
Just then, two male voices are heard behind the two best friends. As Harper and Alex turn, they see Justin and Justin's best friend Zeke Beakerman.
"Sup, Lupin?" Zeke calls out his regular greeting, to his best friend's little sister.
"Not too much, Beakerman. You?" Alex rolls her eyes.
"Just coming over to bug you." Zeke smiles and takes a seat next to Alex as Justin sits down in front of his best friend, little sister and little sister's best friend.
"The regular." Alex smiles.
"Pretty much." Zeke wraps his arm around Alex's shoulders and takes a bite of her sandwich. Since he and Justin were ten-years-old, Zeke always eats some of Alex's food and Justin eats some of Harper's, it has been a routine since, "Do you think you guys will ever find out where your dad went?"
Zeke also knows Justin and Lupin are wizards and Alex is a witch.
"Maybe tonight. At least, we hope." Justin explains.
"I still want to meet your babysitter." Harper comments.
"I second that." Zeke raises his hand.
"Maybe." Alex laughs, looking up at her brother to find a troubled look, "Justin, what's wrong?"
"Nothing." Justin answers quickly.
"Don't lie to me." Sighing, Justin decides to answer.
"I'm just thinking about–" Just then the speaker of the school cuts Justin off.
"Justin and Alex Lupin, please report to the front office. Justin and Alex Lupin to the front office please."
Looking confused at each other for a few moments, the siblings get to their feet as Harper and Zeke pack everything away as the siblings disappear into the school.
"What do you think is going on?" Harper asks softly picking up her's and Alex's backpacks off the green grass.
"No clue. I just hope it's not bad." Zeke shrugs his shoulders slipping his bag on and carrying Justin's in his hand as he and Harper walk into the school silently.

In the office, Alex and Justin see Mad-Eye Moody standing at the desk.
"You both are off for the next three days." Mad-Eye informs them.
"Why? What's going on?" Alex asks worriedly.
"Get your things. Tell your friends to bring over your homework." Without another word, Mad-Eye walks out the door.
Seeing the worry on his sister's face, Justin pulls Alex into a hug before walking out of the office with his arm around her shoulders.
Arriving at Alex's locker, Justin leans against the one next to it as Alex unlocks her locker.
"What's going on?" The siblings hear Harper's worried voice.
"We're off for a few days. Could both you and Zeke bring our homework over?" Justin asks not seeing Zeke around.
"Of course. I'll tell Zeke on my way to class." Harper nods handing Alex her bag.
"Thank you. Time for my locker to get my board." Justin kisses Alex's cheek before sprinting down the hall.
"Are you okay?" Harper whispers to Alex.
"I'm just scared. What if something is wrong?" Alex trembles slightly feeling her fear start to take over.
"What if your dad wants to tell you something important?" Harper counters.
"Do you think so?"
"It's a possibility." Alex sighs and nods as the bell rings. Harper gives Alex a hug before heading to her class as Alex grabs her board and locks her locker once more.
Heading to the front doors, Alex sits down on the bench waiting for Justin to show up. He does so not even three minutes later.
"Where's your bag?" Alex asks as they walk up the hill before climbing onto their boards.
"Zeke has it. We ran into each other and he and Harper will put our work in. Tomorrow Harper will take yours, then they will have mine on the last day." Justin explains.
"Ahh." Justin looks over at Alex and sighs.
"Whatever is going on, we will make it through, sis. We're in this together."
"I love you."
"I love you too."

Arriving at the house, Alex and Justin immediately rush in to see Lupin and Mad-Eye kneeling at the fireplace.
"Daddy?" Alex asks softly.
Looking up at his children, Lupin signals Alex and Justin over. Once at the fireplace the siblings kneel down. Lupin wraps his arms around Alex, so she is in front of him.
"Hello, Justin and Alexandra Lupin. I am Albus Dumbledore, the Headmaster here at Hogwarts." Dumbledore greets formally. Alex notices that in the coals of the fireplace, Dumbledore's face is there.
"Hello sir." Justin nods.
"Hello." Alex greets shyly.
"Now, Remus, as I was saying, I would love to have you as the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor. I would gladly pay for your son and daughter's school supplies. I know you are worried that since Sirius Black escaped Azkaban, and wanting to finish a job that he never finished. But you of all people should know that Hogwarts is the safest place." Dumbledore speaks.
"Albus, Mad-Eye are Justin's and Alex's babysitter when I am away. I think our home is safer because we are with the muggles." Lupin returns.
"Remus, please think about this. The Ministry of Magic is putting Dementors around the entrances of the school as guards. Black will not be able to get in. Also ask Justin and Alexandra on what they want."
"Fine. Justin?" Lupin looks at his son.
"Hogwarts." Justin smiles.
"Alex?" Looking up at her father, Alex bites her lip. She honestly never followed what was being spoken too much.
"Hogwarts." Alex whispers shying away in Lupin's protective hold.
"Well, Albus. Seems to me like you won. My pay better be a lot so if Alex and Justin likes Hogwarts they will be there for the next few years." Seeing Dumbledore's smile in the fireplace Lupin rolls his eyes.
"That shall be done. Come on the Hogwarts Express on September 1st by 11am. I will send you an owl."
"Thank you, Albus. Goodbye." Lupin makes the fire go out before picking Alex up the family sits down on the couch with Mad-Eye in the arm chair.
"I get to hold down the house for the year." Mad-Eye smirks.
"Yes you will, Mad-Eye." Lupin agrees holding Alex on his lap.
"Now, we need to talk about the full moons at school." Lupin informs his children.
"Do we get to stay with you since mine and Justin's eyes change and we hurt physically when we are not near you?" Alex asks right away.
"I spoke to Albus about that before you both came, and yes. We will be in my old hiding place." Lupin confirms as he looks at his daughter's eyes to find them starting to change slightly. Her's and Justin's eyes are fuller and darker. Their fangs are already starting to form, "The full moon is tomorrow. I need you both to tell Harper and Zeke to not come."
"The full moon is tomorrow? I thought it was in two days?" Alex questions.
"You never read the calendar, Alex. You should start." Justin teases.
"Shut up."
