Chapter 3

After calling Harper to tell her to not come the next night, Alex is sitting in her room working on her history homework.

"Alex! Justin! Dinner!" Lupin calls below. Dropping her history textbook, Alex walks out of her room and down to the kitchen. Eating dinner, Alex asks Lupin questions about Hogwarts as Justin listens closely and Mad-Eye, who is moving into the house, is also describing it.

After dinner, the family helps Mad-Eye sort out this things and bedroom at the end of the hall. Once they are finished, it is passed midnight and everyone heads to bed.

The next morning, Alex finishes her homework before heading out to the skate park down the road with Justin. Lupin walks behind his kids with Mad-Eye next to him.

Arriving at the park after Lupin gives Alex and Justin sunglasses to cover their changing eyes, Lupin and Mad-Eye sits down on the park bench watching Alex and Justin skateboard.

As the two siblings hang out together, seeing who can out trick the other, Lupin and Mad-Eye speak in whispers.

"Do you think Black will head to Hogwarts?" Mad-Eye questions.

"Most likely. Everyone said he turned Lily and James in to Voldemort. But I know my best friend better than that. He'd never betray his friends."

"Then who did?"

"I personally think it was Wormtail."

"Why?"

"Because he was more of a shadow then a friend." Lupin begins to tell a story of when he was sixteen.

It is his sixth year at Hogwarts, and as Lupin, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew and James Potter head into the courtyard, Lupin spots Severus Snape.

"Oh look who has his long snout in a potions book!" James calls out.

"Prongs, stop." Lupin snaps. It is getting close to a full moon and he is very short tempered.

"Why, Moony? I get that you are moody but why should I not carry on what I do every day to Sevy?"

"Because, what if you are in danger and he is there. He is the only one to save you, but because you hurt him so much, he will let you die."

James snorts.

"As if. He can't even save a fly." Sirius, James and Peter crack up as Lupin rolls his eyes and walks over to Severus.

"Moony! What are you doing?" Sirius calls out.

"Cleaning up your mess, Padfoot!" Lupin snaps, "You and Prongs started this freaking mess!"

Sitting down next to Severus as his friends walk away, Lupin sighs before turning to the guy next to him.

"I still hate you Severus, but I'm tired of Sirius, Peter and James treating you like crap."

Finishing the story, Mad-Eye, Lupin, Alex and Justin heads back home as the moon begins to rise into the night sky. Disappearing into the basement, Alex's and Justin's eyes turn purple with their fangs appearing. Lupin begins to change into a werewolf, as Alex's and Justin's voices turn into growls. Once they are fully changed, Alex and Justin walk over to Lupin, who licks their faces.

Alex purrs cuddling into Lupin's side. Moving to lie down on a pile of blankets on the floor, Lupin curls his wolf body around his two cubs.

~H&A~

The next morning, Lupin opens his eyes to find Alex lying in a weird position. Her head and arms are on his chest with her feet on Justin's shoulders, pinning him to the ground. Alex is snoring loudly, a trait she got from him. Looking at his son, he finds Justin's legs on his and from under Alex's legs; he finds Justin snoring and drooling.

Dragging his hand down his face, Lupin wipes the drool from his own mouth.

As wolves, we all drool. Each time, Alex sleeps awkwardly and Justin gets sore the next day.

Looking at his daughter's face, Lupin sees pain written across her face. Rolling in her sleep, Alex accidentally kicks Justin's head as she curls herself in a ball like a puppy would when sleeping.

Groaning, Justin sits up and flicks Alex's ear causing her to kick him in the chest. Falling onto his back, Justin chuckles rubbing the spot Alex kicked him. Lupin chuckles as the snoring returns. Justin crawls over to his father and sister and begins to rub his father's back, which is always sore after a full moon.

"Was last night a little less painful?" Justin questions.

"Actually, yes. How were you and Alex?" Lupin smiles stroking Alex's sweaty hair.

"Still hurts a lot but it feels better than last time."

"Good. Over time it will be less painful to change."

"I know. You told us last time." Alex's sleepy voice comments.

"Ahh, so the tired puppy is awake!" Justin teases.

"Shut up." Alex mutters slowly sitting up before shifting onto Lupin's lap and back to sleep. Holding his daughter close to him Lupin stands up with Justin, before they climb the stairs for breakfast then go back to bed.
