4. Steel
Steel is the mirror that reflects all: truth and falsehood and expectations that bind with silver chains peering too close. Steel is the knowledge that is the same across the board but twists and turns and changes shape in the hands of the craftsman and near fire and ice and air. Steel is the pretty ring on a finger and the sword that stabs one's heart and the collar that wraps around one's throat. Steel is the moon that stares at the sun and copies his light but can never be the sun itself, the reflector but not the source.
