Over the next week, Rin started getting stronger. The results Tōtōsai sent after his second visit confirmed that her pheromones were restoring to normal levels. He figured a few more days and it would be safe enough to move her into Tokijin Manor. Sesshomaru would never admit it, but he was looking forward to taking her home.

However, over the past week, he hadn't said much to her. He made sure she ate, helped her into the bathroom so Kagome could help her bathe; he had not been happy when his father sent his brother's wife over with that task. Again, he wouldn't admit it, but he had been looking forward to joining her in the bath. But his father had a point; Rin might not have felt comfortable with him bathing her, even if he had already seen every inch of her.

"Want mate."

Sesshomaru sighed, pausing in making lunch. That was another thing bothering him. With Rin finally getting better, his inner beast had wanted to take her again.

"No."

"Mate!" He growled.

"She's not well enough."

"Be easy."

Sesshomaru groan. It was an argument he has had for two days now and it was getting worst. He had been able to hold him at bay so far, but he didn't know how much longer he could, especially since tomorrow night, Rin would finally be at that the manor; in his room.

"Soon."

"Hmm."

God damn, it was purring again. Sighing again, Sesshomaru grabbed up the tray with their lunch and started back for the bedroom. His heart stopped for the brief second he saw the bed was empty before spying her kneeling on the floor beside the balcony doors. Rin gave him a small smile, "I thought it would be nice to get some fresh air."

Shaking his head, he set the tray down before striding over to her. "It's too cold to be outside." He reminded her, scooping her up to placed her in a chair at the table they had been having their meals at.

"I know, but…" She frowned, hanging her head. "I've just been inside so long that…"

He opened the door a little, allowing the cool winter air to float in over her. "We'll be leaving for the manor tomorrow." He explained sitting down across from her.

They started eating in silent, but Rin must have felt they needed to talk. "What it's like; the manor?"

A little taken back, he thought over what to tell her. "Just a large house; I haven't really been there much since inheriting from my mother." He explained. "It has a staff keeping it up, but most of the rooms have been closed."

"Does it have a garden?"

"Yes; mother had a large garden."

She smiled. "Do you know what kind of flowers she had in it?"

"No."

Her smile fell a little. "Oh…well, maybe this spring I can walk through it."

"You can as you please." He answered, pulling a file towards him. His father had brought some files, but nothing of great important. He had already through every single one and dealt with them.

"What does Windscar Inc. do?"

He looked up. It was a surprise any woman would want to know about the company. They were more interested in how much money it made him. "We're a contract company. We handle the go-betweens for factories, stores; our biggest contract is with the government, handling the weapons and supplies for the army."

She nodded. "And you enjoy it?"

Did he enjoy it? It wasn't easy for him to handle the humans, but it was conquest. "It's business."

"What do you do when you're not doing business?" She asked.

"I'm always doing business."

She frowned. "You don't have any fun?"

He shook his head.

She sighed. "I use to garden; when I was a kid."

He nodded. "Kind of hard to do so in an apartment."

She nodded giving a yawn and covering it with her hand.

"Time for you to get some rest." He stated, standing to help her up and over to the bed.

"But we were talking." She protested around another yawn as he tucked her in back in.

"We can talk later."

"I still don't understand what it is you want of me." She whispered; settling in, sleep taking her almost at once. "But I'll do my best, I promise."

Sesshomaru watched her; her breathing evening out. Slowly, he allowed a small smile to grace his lips. Reaching out, he stroked her hair, traveling down her cheek. "I just want you." He whispered, before placing a kiss on her lips. "Just you."

…}{…

Inuyasha had never realized how much Sesshomaru worked until he wasn't there to do it. He was just finishing up a file when someone outside in the hall yelling drew his attention. Frowning at the sound of his father's voice, he stood walking out to find his father standing toe to toe with none other than Naraku.

"I'm just here to see Sesshomaru, Mr. Akuma." Naraku stated. "Is that such a big deal?"

"You have no contracts with this company, Naraku." Taisho reminded him. "You will remove yourself from my building before I have you removed."

"Don't be so testy. You know I'm surprised to see you even in the office; what with the rumors of your new little girlfriend." The slimy worm sneered. "Such pleasurable little thing, you know."

Inuyasha growled, storming across to hit him only have his father stop him.

"I find you knowing anything about my family hard to believe." He stated. "Now, last chance, leave this building and leave my daughter in law alone or I'll be the least of your worries." He growled.

"Daughter in law? Why would want anything to do with Inuyasha's…" He paused, glaring as he figured out what Taisho was saying. "I see, well…do tell Sesshomaru congratulation for me." He bowed and left.

"Father?" Inuyasha asked.

"Don't worry about it, Inuyasha." He answered.

"But what if he had…"

"Naraku never touched her." He explained and he should know, having changed the sheets after Sesshomaru marked her. "Why don't you head home?" He suggested. "I'm going to head over to Rin's and make sure everything is set up to get her moved tomorrow."

"I could help…"

"That's considerate of you, but I think right now, the fewer men around her and Sesshomaru; the better."

"You going to tell him about Naraku's visit?"

"What do you think?"

"Right, just don't get killed while doing it."

…}{…

Sesshomaru wasn't sure how long he sat watching her, but when he heard the front door open and his father's scent alerted him, he realized he had been sitting on the bed since she fell asleep. Pulling the covers up over her more, he left the room to meet him in the kitchen.

"I see things are going well." Taisho greeted, waving the message Tōtōsai had sent. "Should be back at work in no time, huh?"

Sesshomaru walked past him. "I was thinking of taking the holiday off, father; just until Rin has gotten settled in at that manor."

Taisho smiled. "Of course, son, take all the time you need."

"Don't get cocky; it's just because of my demon." Sesshomaru pressed. "It's still concerned over this Naraku situation."

"I didn't say it was anything else." He looked around, "How could it be anything else, what with him being at the office today and all?"

"He was what?" Sesshomaru growled.

"Yep, came by to speak with you again." Taisho explained. "Sends his congratulations by the way."

"Sends his…that bastard."

"Take it easy, son."

"Take it easy?" He growled. "This madman is after my mate and you want me to take it easy?"

"For your mate, son." Taisho warned. "Rin is going to need you calm."

Sesshomaru knew he was right. It wouldn't be wise to lose focus. "We move her tonight."

"What for? She's safe here another night."

"I won't take that chance." He stated, reaching for the phone to call for his car. "The Manor is better fitted for protecting her."

"Alright son, but let me make the calls while you get her ready."

Sesshomaru nodded, handing the phone over to head back to the bedroom. He found her still sleeping away, but sensed something was wrong. She was tossing and turning, moaning in pain. He was by her side in a flash, gathering her close to calm her. As soon as he touched her, she woke up, gasping.

"No more!"

"Rin…" He whispered, gaining her attention.

She stared at him, eyes wide with fear and tears streaking down her face. With a cry, she buried her face into his chest, holding on for dear life. He cuddled her close, allowing his demon to sooth her with its purring.

"It's alright, I won't let anyone harm you." He assured her. "I'll always be here for you."

Her crying slowed to a sniffle. Waiting for to feel calm enough, he just kept stroking her hair. She soon pulled back, rubbing her eyes.

"I'm sorry."

"Do you want to talk about it?"

She shook her head. "It was nothing, just a stupid nightmare."

"For something so stupid, it sure upset you." He countered.

She remained silent, lowering her head. Sesshomaru thought back. Out of all of this, he had never asked her what was going on with Naraku. Knew from their coupling when he marked her that she had never been touched, but he was still concerned about asking her; upsetting her really. Even knowing the evil that man could inflict, he couldn't image what she had gone through.

"Alright, I'll let it go for now, but we're not finished."

"Please, I don't want…"

He stopped her with a finger to her lips and taking her chin to turn her face to his. "We'll talk about it later. For now, we're heading home."

"Home? You mean the Manor? But I thought we were going tomorrow?" She asked, confusion replacing the fear in her eyes.

"We'll be more comfortable there." He explained.

"I see."

He could tell she was still confused but didn't explain further. Until he had a chance to talk to her about Naraku, he wouldn't worry her over it. At the moment getting her to the manor as quickly as possible was more important.

"I should get dressed then." She announced, pulling away from him.

He inwardly sighed but pulled away from her to head for the closet. Grabbing some clothes for her, he strolled back to her, telling her to raise her arms so he could pull the nightgown off.

Embarrassed, she slowly lifted them, covering herself once more as he tossed the nightgown away. He found the action endearing. However, she had better get used to him seeing her in such state. He held back a smirk as he helped her get dressed. Taking her hand, he helped her stand, only to have her legs give way. Catching her up against him, he scooped her up and carried her out to the main hall where his father was waiting with their coats.

He allowed him to help Rin get her coat on while he pulled his own on, before picking her back up and following his father out of the apartment. Outside, three cars were waiting as arranged to the trip tomorrow. Two were security, making sure Naraku's goons didn't try anything while Sesshomaru and Rin rode in another. His father would follow in his own car.

It wasn't a long trip, with no traffic at that time of night, but it was the longest drive Sesshomaru has even taken. During the whole time, he kept he tucked against him and his senses trained on the area around them. He knew they were being followed by three demons, but they never tried anything.

They were soon safely behind the gates of Tokijin Estate, taking the long drive to the manor its self. Even through the darkness, the lights shone out. He had called earlier that week to inform the servants of his and mate's arrival. He had given instructions to have the place cleaned and the master bedroom aired out. With hope, his father called to notify them of their early arrival and had a meal prepared for Rin.

He looked to Rin to see she was in awe, of the manor even though she wasn't able to see much through the night. He almost wished he could have waited to bring her in the daylight and see her eyes shine with the splendor of the place. But it would all come around soon enough, her safety was more imperative.

They stopped at the front door, where Bokusenō, the butler, stood waiting for them. He a tree demon, though mainly kept to his human form of a tall thin man. Having served Sesshomaru's mother for years, he had watched Sesshomaru grow from a pup to the great he was now. He was surprised when his lord had called that week ordering the Manor to be prepared for his and his mate's arrival, even more surprised to when he heard said mate was human.

Sesshomaru wasn't a very emotional demon, yet, as he watched his lordship step from the car and turned to take a young lady's hand, even supporting her as she seemed too weak to hold her own weight, Bokusenō could tell that he cared for her; even love her. It would explain the extra protection spells and security he had also ordered to be placed for their arrival.

"Welcome home, my lord." He greeted.

"Bokusenō." He answered, picking up Rin to carry her up the steps and to the house.

"Lord Taisho, pleasure seeing you again."

"Hello, Bokusenō." The old demon greeted, following his son into the house.

Sesshomaru took Rin straight to the master bedroom, where he settled her on the bed. "I'll see a meal is sent up for you." He explained. "I must speak with my father, then we'll get you ready for bed."

"My clothes…"

"Your things will be brought tomorrow." He assured. "I have a few items here for you."

Rin nodded, not feeling comfortable about all this. Having him help her dress for this unexpected trip was embarrassing enough. Though he has already seen her naked before, she wasn't sure about it. Though he seemed calm and unaffected by it all, she felt her body heat under his gaze.

"I…"

"I'll be back soon." He announced, walking from the room and leaving her in the large room.

Passing a maid in the hall he inquired about a meal for Rin and learned that the cook was just finishing up a light dinner. Ordering to be sent up to the bedroom, he headed for the study where he knew his father and Bokusenō would be waiting.

"Always the best brandy, son." His father greeted, lifting a glass to him.

Ignoring his father's offer, he turned his attention to Bokusenō. "Is everything in place?"

"Yes, my lord; I have hired the best of the best to patrol the estate at all times, protection spells have been put into place as well." He stepped forward, handing over the files along with a box. "And this arrived this afternoon."

Sesshomaru opened with a small smile, before setting it aside. "Very good, now, I expect you noticed your new lady's ailment; she won't be taking over the lady of the manor's duty right away."

"Understood, sir."

"When she does, I expect you to help her where she needs."

"Of course, sir."

"Son?"

Sesshomaru dismissed Bokusenō before acknowledging his father. "If you wouldn't mind making the arrangements for her things to be sent from the apartment tomorrow; I'm sure there are things she would like to have."

"Of course, but son, I know you don't expect much out of her right away, but Rin doesn't know much about our customs."

"I am aware of that, father, which is why I will be calling Kagome when she feels up to learning."

His father nodded. "You know, when I first met Rin, it was shocking. I have to say, I was a little worried you would fight it more than you did, but you seem to be taking to her very well."

"I doubt my demon would have it any another way, father." He answered.

"True, but if you had fought your demon against this, it would have turned ugly."

"I'm aware of that." He remembered his mother having to leave for a time to deal with a brother of hers who refused his mate. He was just a child at the time, but he remembered overhearing his parents talking about how she and her siblings had to take him down after his mate had been killed due to his demon's rage.

"Well, I say goodnight, son." His father patted him on the shoulder before leaving.

Sesshomaru sighed, looking down at the files and box. And for a first in his life, he decided the files could wait and grabbed the box before heading back upstairs; back to Rin.

…}{…

So, I'm going to cruel to you all and I'm going leave it here, give you the lemon in the next chapter. *evil smile* No throwing fruits or pillows, understood. Or won't even give you a lemon. Be happy I gave you such a long chapter, what with getting sick and all.

Alright, so Naraku is up to no good again, but how will his new found knowledge of Sesshomaru marking Rin change his plans? What will he do? Something evil, of course. Can't have him just running for the hills right? Then where would the story go, huh?

Sesshomaru seems to be getting his head out his ass (yeah I said it, what are you going do about it?)

He has also got her moved to his home, which was more protected then the apartment. And what about that box? What could it be? Before you get ahead and say it's a ring, let me tell you the box it a little bigger than that; think of a small shoe box. And no, it's not shoes either.

So, onto the Reviews.

Review Corner!

And first up is...

jj: Well, their relationship is going, is not slowly. I have to say I think this may be my longest story yet, having chpt 14 already done and half of 15 completed and still more to come I think.

Jellisa: In her twenties, I think. I started this story so long ago, that I forgot what age I set her at, but no worried, she's of age. I don't do kid stuff like that.

Sotam: Who do you want to stay away from who…what, I'm a little confused on what you're trying to say in your review.

Leonhart9, Sesshomarufan30, and Usui Takumi Walker: Thank you.
