A/N- look at me go!
Enjoy!
There was a storm blistering like the desert sands inside her heart. It crashed like a rigorous creature against the cage of her ribs. She slipped from the balcony not long after she watched the concubine storm off. Now she knew why Imhotep had become so violent after he turned away from her. There was no way he missed his heart standing in that window.
This was not going to end well. Eve could feel it in her very being. The concubine did not seem like she handled competition well. Actually, she knew for a fact the concubine did not. She could pull forth memories of training with her father's lover. Eve could almost not count all the times it had seemed the woman wanted to end the Princess's life; there had been times during their battles that Eve was positive she had come close. This was not going to make the situation any better.
Imhotep was going to hate her more then he already did. Isn't that just wonderful. She could not imagine the things running through that stoic mind of his. The situation as a whole looked worse then it was. Her body trembled under the heavy knowledge that burdened her mind. Imhotep and herself had looked immensely intimate in those few minuets. With the Priest avoiding the concubine as much as he possibly could Eve could only imagine what was going through her mind. Specially after all the things Evelyn had said while talking about erotic movements. Steal herself a man or too? Oh good heavens what on earth was she thinking!
She rounded the corner, mind buzzing. It was like standing in the eyes of a storm; thoughts clouded her sense of outwardly awareness, everything passing her by unseen. So unseen in fact that she collided into someone's chest. The act could have knocked her out cold. Her body dumped itself backward, balance a forgotten tale in her horizon. Had that said person not swept her off her feet Eve was almost positive she would have ended up on her back.
"Princess!" A man's voice came with worry. She tossed embarrassed eyes his way, fighting the groan threatening to loosen from her vocals. "Are you alright?" The apology died on her mouth. She took in the man's roguish good looks and froze. So similar, yet frightfully different. Rick? Her perplexed expression must have giving him a sense of pride because his face erupted into a smouldering grin. "So taken with me that I have rendered you speechless. I seem to have that effect on women."
The statement had her face light up like a fire. The blush spread itself all the way down to her bosom and to the tips of her ears. She took in their proximity like a dump of cold water over her blistering skin. He was dangerously close, and somehow managing to get closer. She shot her hands out abruptly, forcefully putting distance between them. Oh gods, this could not be happening. There was no way Rick too had been part of this world. Could he?
She stiffened from the abrupt laughter coming from the deliciously toned man in front of her. It was then she recognized the medjai ensemble he wore. He was part of her father's guard? "Do not be so frightened your highness. It was only a quip."
Cleaning her throat Eve forced herself to tare her longing gaze away from his eyes. "There is truth even in the wittiest of banters." She was not blind. He was a handsome man, wonderful to look at in fact. There were small details that differed from the man she knew. His skin tone darker and even his hair seemed black, but his features were undeniable. She was sure there were many of women who faltered in his waking arms. "May I ask of your name madjai?"
"Parushta, your highness." He gave a small bow, one brow slightly raised. "Forgive for my rudeness, princess but do you truly not remember me?"
She was taken back by his question. "No, you must forgive me. After my accident my memory is not was it was." She did not sound as convincing as she hoped to be. It was not a complete lie, her memories contained very little of this era; It was not because of her accident though.
There was disappointment in his hazel eyes; she noted the distant speckle of greens within its coffee soaked pools. "Hm," he cooed. "Your words wound me, Princess. After all we have done together." A stern haze took over his handsome face then. He reached, nursing his slick hair back into place with a huff.
Eve found herself with mouth agape. Possibilities rushing through her mind. She was of virgin standard, that she knew, but that did not denounced her from exploring other such pleasures. Oh good heaven's princess, what other things could you have possibly of gotten yourself into?!
There came an unmannered snort from the heavily built man that made her jump in surprise. He had his lips pulled up in a fox like smirk, unable to make eye contact with her. He- Eve narrowed her brows: that prick was teasing her! "You are easily roused Nefertiri-" He stopped himself. "Or shall I call you princess as you no longer remember me?"
"N-no, Nefertiri is acceptable... Parushta" She found it hard not to call him by the name she came to know his face by. The name drug itself from her mouth stubbornly, almost unwilling to leave the confined space of her throat. "How is it I know you?"
"I trained you in the ways of combat for many-a-years dear Nefertiri." He chuckled. The idea brought a smile to her face. Parushta was not so different from Rick in that way, he too had taught her to fight after their adventures together. Rick figured it was essential to learn how to fight since she always seemed to be getting herself into trouble. "You keep sneaking off and it has made your father is a little less then pleased with you I am afraid. He sent me to come find you since I am the only one of his guard you listen to."
"Oh." Nervously she brushed the back of her neck. Had he known what she had just done she was sure he would be disappointed in her. Climbing out windows and jumping of roofs; then nearly falling because she couldn't take the time to properly analyze the danger.
"Do you mind my company that much princess?" She jolted upright at his question. There was aching in his eyes that made her want to justify the reason for her actions, but she had no way to explain what occurred. Not without all hell breaking loose first.
"That is not it at all." She blurted. She caught herself reaching out to him instinctively. Physical memory wanted her to treat him the way she would her daring American. To touch and feel those heavily armoured muscles. To tease and play. She swallowed a needy sob. After being dumped on a feverish high her body craved the familiar. With haste she clawed it back to her breast, hoping he did not catch that red-blooded weakness lingering in her features. "It just bothers my mind when it comes to things I cannot recall." She attempted sweetness the coverup her obvious nervous demeanour.
It did not keep him from noticing, but thankfully to her Parushta did not say anything. He came to her side and escorted her back to chambers were her father requested her to remain for the night. She scowled. Had her father figured out that she was sneaking out at night?
She tossed a irked look the Rick-look-alike's way. "Am I honestly being confined to my room like a child?"
"Ah well." She shuddered at the way he could spark old emotions within her. That look of mischievous humour in his dark eyes caught her off guard every time she gazed into them. So alike. It was like the world was taunting her with the dear things she lost. "If you would stop running off when you are still in the process of healing the Pharaoh would have no need to keep you confined, sweet Nefertiri."
She was beginning to question their relationship. Was he simply just her instructor, or did their relationship bloom into other things like her own Rick's had? "I dislike cages." The mutter was full of annoyance; Sizzled like water on hot stone. She passed the drapery of her doorway with a dreaded sigh. Noting the way he did not fallow passed the entryway she turned with questioning eyes
"I could always keep you company." There was something in his vocals that made her stomach do flips. She could not make out his expression passed the slightly transparent cloth between them, All she could see was his silhouette tempting her from afar.
She breathing slowed. How easy would it be to take out her frustrations on him; all that pent up lust and need for release? She allowed her Rick such courtesies; could she allow it to the man who bore his face?
Teeth sunk into her lips when he slipped boldly into her chambers. He watched her with hungry eyes, but
beyond that was a gentleness she could never find in her Priest. He would never have her in ways she craved, at lease he would never do so without her permission. In his stance she could read the want and desire. It was obviously something that had grown between the two of them through the years and something else that she was desperately missing out on.
"I know you do not remember," he paused. His face became strained. There was much he wanted but was unwilling to take. Ah, well she figured the fact she could not remember him was keeping that back. He was respecting the fact she did not recall their relationship was attempting to deny himself of his needs. "I do not mind staying to answer any questions you might have. I cannot say I dislike your company."
It hurt her heart to know he was pretending to only be here for her benefit. To pretend like there wasn't some kind of dwindling flame between them. Ever the hero. "I would love your company Parushta. I have much to ask."
She found herself shoving the urge to temp him into more unforgiving things back into the depths of her mind. She wandered herself to the heavily cushioned lounge off to the corner of her room quietly. She had been too busy trying to bat off these feelings to say much else. She dropped into the feathery delight of comfort below before patting the area next to her. She beamed up at him then, encouraging him to follow suit.
He dropped with a puff of hot air, head tossed back and eyes shut. She could practically feel the sexual drive eating away at his sanity. "What questions are eating away at your lovely mind Princess?"
Eve reached for the contents of alcohol awaiting her on the table across from their resting legs. Whilst pouring them both a glass of sweet wine she pondered what to ask. There were so many things she did not know anymore, and so much she was unsure was accurate to begin with. Stopping her thoughts to pass him the goble she watched the way he took it with a grateful leer and drank the substance greedily. Apparently he needed to numb his senses when in her presence. "What type of relationship did we have?" The words left her mouth before she could think about the repercussions and it caused him to nearly choke.
She had reached out to assist but he held out his hand amongst the fit of coughs. "I am alright princess; just..." He drawled. "Was not expecting that question to be the first thing on your mind."
"I could not help but recognize it." She found herself staring at the red liquid in her cup. she did not like what reflected back at her. She could see the lust building in her eyes; no matter how she how hard she tried shoving it into the corner; somehow it would manage to poured out and fill the room. No longer able to bare looking at herself she chugged what remained in the cup.
"I have known you since you were a young thing. It started out as a innocent friendship, we often broke rules when no one was looking. Found excuses to sneak off. You were just another female in my life, one that I was sworn to protect." There was a sense of dread oozing off his presence, that made her reach out to brush his forearm.
"If you do not wish to speak of it i will not force you."
"I have sworn an oath of honestly to you, my princess. You have asked this of me and I must comply." His hand covered her own then. With a grunt he continued. "It wasn't until I began training you that I believed otherwise. You had grown into your womanly figure in ways I did not know was possible. You learned well. Things between us only got a lot more physical during training, battles turned into more-" He laughed nervously. "Though somehow it was never enough."
Eve downed another glass. Of course it was fighting that lead to lust. She had this odd attraction to the rough and rowdy. She was a masochist. Her body hummed in shy heat; or perhaps a slightly buzzed one. It was difficult to tell the difference. She pressed her tongue to her cheek hotly and snarled inwardly at herself. She almost felt disgusted with the way she acted sexually. How was it that she found herself attracted to such horrid thoughts?
Before she could pour herself another glass he covered the opening of her goblet. "You might be overdoing it princess."
She turned to him with flirtatious eyes and head cocked to the side. "I think I can decide for myself when I have had to much."
He hummed at the idea. "Really, because I am not as sure."
She allowed the moment to sink in. It reminded her of that time she drank with Rick in Hamunaptra. She had been a drunk mess after they discovered the Imhotep's mummy beneath the statue. She recalled his banter being something along the lines of their mummy getting too frisky with the Pharaoh's daughter. She stiffened a laugh. Rick and her flirted shamelessly and she had come seconds to kissing him before she passed out.
She felt gritty as she leaned further towards him. She could feel the buzz of alcohol painting her in a provocative light. It made her feel alive again, like she had not been slumming in the darkest places of her mind this last month. She missed Rick. The happiness he always brought her.
"I do not care if you think I had enough." Yanking her cup from under his hand she returned to filling that blasted goblet. "I'll stop when I think i have had enough." She honestly didn't need more to drink, she was heavy with drink already but she was enjoying teasing him.
The glass was gone from her hand before she had a chance to bring it to her lips. Blinking she turned to her would-be-Rick. He was closer then she remembered, perhaps she did have to much to drink. So close that she could feel his breath tracing down her face. She stilled. It would be so easy to lean out and kiss him. Touch that almost-Rick and rid herself of this smothering lust she felt towards the rage inducing priest.
She could not tell you when she had leaned forward but at some point she had. Their lips met in a feverish haze and Eve couldn't stop the moan from budding forth. He laid her back softly- too softly, into the plush pillows bellow. Oh, her sweet Rick. He never could ravish her the way she wanted but the act still could help cool the flames.
He rolled into her small body, skins blending together in the fumes of need. She clawed at him. Forcing them closer then she knew was possible. It was then she began to realize that Parushta was a lot more different from her Rick then she would have liked to admit. A roughness that came with his touch that she had not anticipated.
He had her pinned, knee wedged between her thighs and one hand keeping her wrists in a tight bind. The act alone gave her a flicker of desperation. She sucked her lower lip between her teeth and gnawed as he nipped down her jawline. His free hand left to wandering. It danced like a coy fox up her curves, bunching the cream linen that covered her luxurious body as he went. War beaten hands scraped up her thigh before gripping onto her hip bone. She quaked the act was hard enough to leave a light bruise and it was divine. She sucked in breath. Teeth sank deep into the crease of her neck forcing her back into an arching cry.
Oh hell. If her Rick had his way with her like this then perhaps she wouldn't be here right now. Fuck. Her mind slurred. Every thing would have been much simpler if he had just done this. She felt like was standing in a blaze. Fire licking up her soul and devouring what ever she was willing to give.
Their bodies rammed together, passion ablaze. Mind caught in this battle of power that hinted towards her inability to win. He was stronger, far more skilled. She growled. She wanted him to win, but that did not mean she would sit back and take it. She pulled her hands free of his enclosed grip to take hold of his jaw. Dragging him from her chest she silently enjoyed the way he grumbled on the entire way up. Once able she sunk her fingers into his dark locks and collided their lips together.
Her body sang into each snagging caress, bumping into each grind. He had the hem of her dress hiked passes her thigh so all that laid between them was his own loin cloth. She found herself reaching to remove it. The horrendous need building and demanded more.
"Get out!" The voice roared. It rumbled through her nerves like a demonic plague. Her warrior was off her faster then humanly possible. His head hung low and body lowered into a respective position. No, no, no this was not happening.
"I must ask for forgi-"
"Get. Out." Parushta did not hesitate. He threw her a sorrowful glance and left without another word.
Eve dreaded looking over. She was not even wanting to acknowledge who just interrupted her little session. She closed her eyes. "What do you want." She sounded bitter, but she felt empty. She built up all this inner turmoil now she found herself with no way of ending it. "I am unsure if you noticed but I was busy."
The Yelp that came forth from her lungs could not be stopped. She had been yanked off her lounge harder then she saw coming. Eve went crashing into the stone floors below. Knees cracked against the stone. She hissed, tossing hurt eyes in her attackers direction. "What the hell do you want Imhotep!" The snarl of slurred words was nearly unbearable. It wasn't until now that she was truly beginning to understand exactly how intoxicated she had gotten herself.
Her golden priest sneered in return. "I am not the one in question here." He loomed over her like a dark cloud. So filled with rage that she was suddenly frightful. The look in his eyes was murderous and his body hummed his this horrid energy. "The destruction you have placed in my path is not acceptable, woman."
Evelyn rolled her eyes obnoxiously. "Oh gods, I had known she was there I would not have done anything. I had no intention to cause you more problems." She attempted to raise but the way he closed the distance between them made her realize staying where she was would be more beneficial.
She stared up at his blazing eyes and allowed the shame of her fear be open to any and all to see. "I see you have stumbled upon your warrior. "
She froze. "You knew he existed in this era and did not tell me?" She had practically screamed at him.
"It had been irrelevant at the time." His eyes lowered into a hateful state. "Had I known he would take advantage-."
"Oh!" She stood then, so fast it made her made her stomach turn painfully. "He did not take advantage. We were having a meaningful conversation and things just got out of hand. Besides who are you to criticize me?" Arms crossed over her chest stubbornly. "You are the only one here who is taking his pleasures as they come. Why cannot I do the same?"
There was a crack of adamancy between the two of them. Each unwilling to give into the other. Breathing deeply he began herding her towards the bed. She complied with arms hitched into a stubborn cross. "You are inebriated, you need rest."
"I have had enough of people telling me what I need. I know what I need and it certainly is not sleep." She dug her heels into the floor childishly. "Stop pushing me out and acting like nothing is wrong."
Suddenly he was no there to usher. She turned. In his eyes was a rush of emotions she could not understand. It had a lot to do with the drink, it made her sluggish with the going ons around her. A deep delayed response. He was stiff and his body quaked. Anger; she retorted victoriously to herself. She recognized something so she could not be that drunk. Maybe?
"I know you are mad about Anck-Su-Namun but-"
"Anck-Su-Namun." He interjected. "Knows that like she, I too can take others into my bed. The misunderstanding of why I am turning her away is aggravating to handle but not unmanageable." Eve's brows creased. She took in the distance between them with with curious eyes.
"If it is so manageable why are you bothered by it?" The silence dragged on. It was then she realized he had no intention of answering. Giving him a quick once over she realized how much of this anger she held towards him came from her desire to have more of him then she was allowed; not to mention that he just ruined her chances of dealing with it. The idea snagged on her train of thought with an inability to process. Wait. "Or is it you are bothered by what you just walked in on?"
Those beautiful honey eyes fell into a thin line, and his chest puffed. Oh yes, he mind drawled. This was a type of jealousy, he was angry someone had come so close to taking what he owned. "If you must know it infuriates to see how easily swayed my 'claim' has become; a simple drink could change your mind on something you said nearly hours prior." He was a low snarl in the midst the screeching winds of his annoyance. The sensation tangled itself around her lethargic limbs, kept her from escape.
"I-" Silenced by a simple hand jester.
"I knew what returning us to this timeline would entail. It became far less simple when you began to push back. Stubborn, maddening woman." She was being scolded. She groaned. She could have been doing much more interesting things right now. Her eyes drifted down his naked chest. It had a trickle of sweat, swell of light muscle. She could imagine having it under her hands in ways her memories teased relentlessly about."-You are still mine to do with as I please, make no mistake about that Princess." Oh no. Her heart sunk, and face paired. She missed the first half of that conversation! With it ending the way it did she suddenly wished she would have just listened. Oh Eve; she wailed at herself. Pay attention and stop thinking about ripping his cloths off you drunk imbecile.
Turning without another word he stalked out of her room, leaving Evelyn perplexed about what just happened. He just reinstated his claim on her somehow. Why had she not been listening? Sinking to her knees she let the relief of being out of his presence wash over her. The air became breathable once more and her chest expanded. Swallowing thickly she tossed a hateful look back at her bed.
She was in for a long night and the damned thing was to far away.

PLacIDwiCkedNEss-
Thank you for sticking with me throughout this whole process! I feel very proud to be getting back into it. I thank you on recognizing the effort I have been putting into Imhotep's character. He has been difficult to write due to him being so stoic haha. This is something Eve with continue to struggle with throughout the story, because she rarely has issues saying how she feels unless she figures it is improper to do so.
